a real shame were bowling first .... i remember the last time we played in Abu Dhabi bowling second Tanvir was swinging it miles under lights
 
only thing wrong is ajmal is playing.
the extra batsman would have made up for the 20-30 extra runs another spinner would have conceded in place of ajmal

No. He deserves a chance to play but Younus Khan can't choose everyone. The only person that needs replacing is Butt.

this is nearly the best team Pakistan could have played ...

Makes Pakistan batting and bowling strong enough then before...

Now Butt/Malik needs to perform or else anyone of em may face rest to give Alam a chance...

Tanvir and Arafat in is good move but Fawad Alam should be in as well.

Again stupid selections from Younus Khan and Pakistan think tank.

Getting rid of Rao is only good thing achieved.

Boycott talking about Saeed Ajmal. Saying if your reporting the new boys i.e. Saeed Ajmal then what about the big guys, people like Murali. Good point

Boycott saying is not fair. Harbhajan and Murali are left alone but the new boy gets picked on. Boycott saying all the off spinners bend their arms to bowl the doosra.

Nothing...yet...but again Dean Jones thinks he's off air and hes talking - and its being broadcast, he could come out with any comment (like we've seen re: Amla)

well it is a working day, I expect more people once the weather cools a little bit (evening) and work is done.

But the full house will porbably be on Friday
 
Boyce says allow all bowers to bowl doosra with bent arm or stop murali and bhaji from bowling it.

Tanvir and Arfat may not be able to swing during the day.

They could be in for a spanking.
 
Looks like the Pak think tank doesn't think much about Alam.He should consider himself very unlucky, even when all other batters are struggling, he can't get a place in the team.

Thats a bad news for us in UK as this shows they have no sponsers for this series which does not bode well for future series.

You have been watching cricket on ARY for too long who miss the first ball of the over.

Ten sports never does that. If you watch cricket through willow or if dish network here in the US when directly gets the broadcast you always hear what they are talking about.

I have always heard Ramiz and Sanjay singing during the breaks.

I think sponsors only pay for breaks when the game starts - it wouldnt surprise me if ARY forgot to sell the pre-start ad slots....
 
look a much better team on paper with tanvir and yasser they both can bat which is a bonus. Need to get fawad into the team some how.

That's what I was thinking. If he is one of the future middle order batsman then he should be playing atleast a lot of matches if not all.

In next 2-3 years I can see 2 Pakistan middle order batsmen crossing 35 age and would be thinking about retiring. So these new guys should be experienced ( by playing matches and not sitting on benches) by that time.

I'm guessing Shoaib was left out because of the heat. There is no way he would be effective for more than 3 overs in these conditions. The big question for me is how well Ajmal bowls with his action under scrutiny.

For once, I thought it was NOT ARY's fault...although I ve just noted that it is!

They went for a break - the ARY went back to the ground, without turning the mics off!

Only way to get Fawad in the team is to drop an opener and have Afridi/Akmal open freeing up a slot in the middle. But I think Misbah should not get a free ride anymore. He's been struggling recently.

To be quite honest pay per view events shouldn't have ads unless your watching cricket for free or are paying a monthly fee. Then the channel itself will sell the ads and display them.

Ten sports has nothing to do with the ads. When Sky TV had the rights and allowed dish network to show cricket in the US. You heard everything they said during the entire game. Again when ten sports directly deals with dish network you again hear everything. Same applies to willow tv.

Misbah's a senior now, he's not getting dropped. Same with Butt and Akmal.

I feel Malik did the smart thing by using Gul in the middle or lat innings as he is very good with the old ball. Younis should have opened up with Tanvir and Yasir.
 
Two thoughts regarding Gul:

1) Must he open the bowling? He's so much better with an older ball.

2) If he has to open, then perhaps he could get warmed up and not start with loosners (is that a word)?

He will be more of a direct replacement for malik ie batting allrounder. Malik has more experience but his batting does not always fill me with confidence. Fawad will just have to wait abit longer I suppose.
 
Good start by Australia... why have our opening bowlers looked so harmless this series?

Our best ODI bat doesn't fill you with Confidence? hmm I remember he hasn't done well in the last two matches.
