This has been a great chase. However knowing Pakistan, they can still probably screw this up.

Having said that, whatever the result today, final will be between Sri Lanka and India. And I think India will find it very difficult to beat Sri Lanka because the difference in bowling is huge (Indian bowling is pretty much like Pakistani bowling). The only chance for India is to reduce Sril Lanka to a very small total and chase that because Sri Lanka has the spin bowlers to make even a moderate total difficult to achieve. And I dont believe Indian bowlers can defend even a biggish total with their meagre bowling resources(in case India bats first).

wen was the last time SL chased a big total ? SL batting is too weak to challenge us .........there is a huge diffrence in our bating ...the only way SL can beat us is if jayasurya gets a huge 100 !
 
What happens if Pakistan could not win this in 42 overs. I mean what are qualification scynarios?
 
when you score in first 15 overs in any game it is very hard for any opposition to contain the batsmen who are set and if they are trnudlers like what India possess it should be be cake walk.

so according to your opinion all the bowlers in this tournament are trundlers? I doubt Akhtar would have done better on such pithces. Each game goes over 300 runs per innings!

I agree. Indian batting is superior. But the kind of tracks these are, I feel you dont need very special batsmen to score big runs. However, you need some leecher typer spinners with no pace at all to stop scoring (otherwise no fast bowler or orthodox spinners can stop even mediocre batsmen).

However I agree that India seems to have some psychological edge over Sri Lanka recently. Will be a couple of great matches though (I feel Sri Lanka has a slight edge - Indian bowling too pedestrian).
