Even Pakistanis now dont know how to bowl on pattas. Imran, Wasim, Waqar knew the art and hence they had great records at home. I feel Kumble is the supreme example of a bowler who knows how to bowl well on pattas (I dont consider him a spinner so it ought to be difficult for him too). What Kumble does beautifully is that one, he doesnt give much room, and two, he changes his length and speed so effectively that even if its the same line (and the ball comes in slightly most of the time) he still get's batsmen out. It's a pity he is not considered for ODIs.[/QUOTE]
I dont think it is a pity but a meer fact that he is 38 and we need to look for other options otherwise if we continue playing him and all of a sudden he decides to retire will put all of us into a fix. However u cannot compare legends like Imran and wasim who could take wickets anywhere but observing the stats or economy rate of our current bowlers to that of srinath and prasad was appaling
