first 10 overs build a foundation, lose no wickets, soften the ball
10-20 build a good score, singles flowing, rotate strike
20-40 middle order play with straight bat, up the RunRate
40-50 slog fest
With this RR, I think the plan is 35-50 for a slog fest.

Enthusiastic crowd in the National Stadium as always! Great atmosphere

not even Pakistan will Match the Karachi Khanjars run rate!! :gul

THe 'industry standar' if you are looking to keep wkts in hand is to go for a min. 4 rpo

This is barely above 2rpo.

Thats the worry I think
Agreed. Look this sort of pace was fine back in Imran's day when they used to get next to nothing and go ballistic (or their version of it) in the last 15 overs.

Today, we're going to be bowling to the likes of Gambhir, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Dhoni etc These guys can get our current score in one over.

We can't afford to have a low total on a placid wicket against them.

I'm not saying we wont get a good score today, but we're now relying on faster batting from here on in. And if they fail to bat at huge run-rates they'll be our scapegoats, not the openers who're sitting on strike rates below 50 after 10 overs.

Malik tries going over mid wicket/mid on, one bounce to Yuvraj, he reacted a bit late.

Whats happening is that there just is no pace in the wicket and the Indians arent providing any pace either. Plus, they arent giving much room either. Salman is trying to use his feet to create some pace but is failing at the moment.

What people get in 4 overs, we've managed in 12.

But then again, they may lose a wicket.

It seeems that Salman Butt is getting the singles now but Malik struggling more then ever.

I guess they are waiting for Chawla

A girl puts up a banner in the stands: "I Love Shoaib Malik. Marry Me!"

They never learn, do they?

this is the reason of low run-rate!-)

Malik is gonna take initiative and try and go for it now
Butt sahib is in for the long haul

"We love you Rameez, but please get a haircut"

Banner in the crowd! :))

Malik out to impress the girls?

Any stills/pics of the match/GIRLS in the stands :D

Hopefully her Dad isnt watching the match or ...

I am not worried about the runrate. Whats worrying is that they are really struggling. Sometimes it happens when you can neither score nor get out no matter what you do.

:))) :))) :)))

for those that don't know, this gentleman is the world's biggest hitter of a cricket ball.

He came out last match and sent the ball to cow corner first ball, attempted a reverse sweep six second ball, sent it back to cow corner next ball. He kept slogging until he was run out.

He has a mustache, looks 46, and, judging by appearance, may well have a criminal record.

y be frustrated... if this tactic works out, we will be laughing

IF it fails then be frustrated.. u have a right to be!

Well, i guess this is where we need Akmal opening.

Someone who is not a pinch hitter, but not reluctant to play his shots either.

still, nice to NOT see the standard Pakistan score at around 10 overs of 40-1 or 41-2 etc.

I sense a rash shot coming anytime.

Lol Malik attempts to run himself out for the third time but fails...

Why no speed gun for Sharma?

38-0 after 13

Very slow going, hope they put the foot on the gas now.

One thing for sure, Malik really knows how to avoid a run out.

I remember when he was half way down the pitch, indian bowler right behind him and the ball right in front of him, he purposely fell, knocking the ball away, and ran back. :))

He is to tall... and to fast.... so he is too mighty for the speedgun :D

Pitch Report from Rameez Raja: Rameez Raja reckons it's bone dry and should help the batsmen. Apparently some 30 first-class games have been played here recently and no life remains on the track.

Kirsten pretending as if he had something to do with the situation of the match ...
hahaha

i should be but for some reason geo showing it and not ary and i dont subsribe to geo!!!

lets do lunch soon??

We desperately need a Saeed Anwar type player who sends the opposition into submission with his silky strokes.

I have a suspicion that Indians arent interested in running anybody out at the moment.

Beautiful straight drive by Malik for a boundary, welcome 4 runs

Kumar to Salman Butt, 1 run, back of length, around the off stump, pushed to right of mid-on where Yuvraj Singh makes a tumbling stop. There was no need actually for him to dive, the ball was going slow but that's how he usually fields.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

So, you are saying that we need someone simmilar to one of the best ODI openers the world has ever seen?

I agree!

I remember till the early 1990s 50 in 15 and 100 in 25 was par score!

There have been more good looking girls in this 1 hour, then we saw in all of the india tour and the Tri series.

How do you take pics of the game? I know some people often post tehm

Prnt Scrn isn't working. It just takes a black screen.

Um.. he was bowling in the mid 80's. Fastest that I noticed was the wide at 142 kmph.
