Pakistan vs South Africa 2nd test match...Day 2 from Port Elizabeth.

Pakistan are in a FANTASTIC position here. Just get Prince and Kallis now, and South Africa will be weeping quietly in the dressing room.
 
Too many easy runs at the moment and the pressure is easing.

Need to tighten the grip here with another wicket
 
Rameez saying this partnership is becoming a major hurdle for Pakistan now. Partnership already 23.

1st Test against Sri Lanka- again, wrist slitters out in force .We draw the game. Wrist slitters vanish.

2nd Test against Sri Lanka- same story, except we won!

3rd Test against India at Karachi- ditto!


So there have been plenty of examples of people being overly pessimistic only to have their pathetic words stuffed down their faces and up their backsides (sideways)! Long live optimism!

pak's fate in the match will depend on ,how much they allow Boucher n Pollok to scrore!

It was an easy one. Prince charged down the track, beaten by the spin and Akmal snatched at the ball yet again.
 
I have lost my patience with Akmal. Kick him out now! This is not a knee jerk reaction. Bring Zuly in NOW!!!
 
mistake by akmal ... but don't forget his father got shot yesterday ... imo he should get the rest of the series off and be allowed to return home.
 
In the first innings he dropped a couple and both of those batsmen got out almost instantly, he can hope that this trend continues otherwise it might cost us a LOT.
 
God I am so mad right now. 2 drops yesterday!! This one is gonna be costly. I know it!
 
At a time like this when you need a wicket on a pretty flat pitch you don't want to be missing opportunities!
 
Kami has satarted to SNATCH at the ball - and he is rarely in line with the ball off the quickies.

If a nobody like me can observe that, why isnt something being done to address it? If it has and its not working then, then selectors need to have a think about the keepers role.

First and foremost, he is in for his keeping.
 
Lets hope the error by Akmal is not too costly, but he's not doing the basics with the gloves at the moment. Perhaps a lack of confidence.
 
We need 2 more wickets otherwise it may not be easy to chase even 150-200 in the fourth inning.
 
I think we should seriously consider Zulqarnain for the next test. Who knows? He maybe beastly!

Hes been lacking in confidence since the summer. I seriously think we need to drop him. He looks terrible.
 
I know our bowlers need some rest but maybe Asif should return for another short spell.
 
i think asif should come in for a short blast to end the day.
 
pathetic akmal drop another chance. he should out out the team. we needed this wicket badly.
 
Watching some replays of Akmal's mistakes, his keeping at the moment reminds me of Moin at his worst. Pushing hard at the ball with the gloves.

I feel for Akmal actually, his father was shot yesterday, his mind must be distraught right now. I have seen Zulqaranain Haider keep before, he is no great shakes either.
 
Danish Kaneria to Prince, no run, stumping chance missed! A lovely teasing flighted delivery, again Prince comes down the track and is beaten by the flight and the dip. The ball threads through the bat and pad gap and is just outside off stump and Akmal clangs it. Would have been definitely out had he gathered

This pitch is as flat as anything. Trust Pakistan to make it look like a minefield when they go onto bat.
 
Just 8 overs left in the day, why is Farhat still bowling????

We aren't attacking enough, Farhat shouldn't be bowling and even if he is, he should go over the wicket.

So its settled then. Even though Akmal is now putting on the worst display of keeping in international cricket that i have ever seen( yes, worse than parthik patel). There is no keeper in pakistan that can take the field other than Akmal. SO what if he drops like 3-5 catches a match.
We only care about akmal's morale, which i would think must be pretty low any ways with all those dropped chances.
 
JUST have Asif and Sami come in for the last 6 overs and just burst out!
 
last 20 min of the day. either fast bowlers be brought back or give YK couple of overs

Agree ..Prince and Kallis getting easy runs ...lead less than 40
 
South Africa, are not losing wickets, but are not scoring runs either.

6 runs have come in the last 4 overs, they seem to be playing for the close. I think Asif and Sami will be brought back for one final fling at the batsman.
 
W're still in a fantastic position. But from here, South Africa CAN do something.
