Cup warm-up match between top-ranked South Africa and Pakistan was
held up nearly 10 minutes here on Friday due to poor pitch
conditions.
South Africa were 56-3 after being put in to bat when the game
was stopped following complaints from batsmen.
Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer and South Africa captain Graeme Smith
also entered the ground and were involved in mid-pitch discussions
with umpires Peter Parker and Ian Gould.
"The batsmen were not happy with the way the ball was bouncing,
but the umpires asked them to continue," said Dhiraj Malhotra, an
International Cricket Council official at the venue.
Jacques Kallis and Ashwell Prince were at the crease.

For all those of you who are complaining about the lack of coverage, try to understand the facts.

first of all, this is a warm up match. This is not the world cup. It does not deserve the same kind of coverage as the world cup. Like the teams, the broadcasters and organizers are also warming up. During the world cup, there will be at most 2 concurrent matches and the broadcasters have sent 2 teams everywhere. That is why there are only two matches being shown live every where around the world. One of those matches is at Trelawny, Jamaica, where the opening ceremony will take place. The crew is there in place of that and it is by coincidence that India is playing there. there is no conspiracy to show India matches and to not show Pakistan matches. The second live coverage is from St. Lucia, where the second match will take place. The broadcasters are there as it is the most efficient for them to be in place for the world cup to start. Its for logistical reasons. Why should they waste money to broadcast events for which rights have not been discussed and are not official matches and where the demand for watching it is low anyway? Bad mouthing Geo and Cricinfo is ridiculous. You cannot get everything you want all the time and stop thinking the whole world out there is against you!
 
This must be one dangerous pitch...

And the score was just said a myriad of times :D
 
Hopefully our batters will do better, maybe 220 or something on this pitch might be good enough, which SA can still get

If they were able to give coverage for Canada vs. Pakistan, than they should be able to give some type of coverage for SA vs. Pakistan, all it takes is one guy with a laptop at the game
 
we're not talking about tv coverage..we're talking about any sort of coverage!!!...are you telling me crapinfo cant get 1 reporter to cover this match or at the least cant they post up regular updates?? its ridiculous and reflects the pro india bias of that pathetic site!!

Yep, score is already way too much for Pak, 100 is high - I reckon less than 100.
 
It seems as if the pitch is starting to get easier to play on as more runs being scored at the end here, who knows, Pakistan usually chase better because they know how many runs they have to get, i have a feeling if we batted first we would have probably been all out for 150 or so with the kind of start the SA got

Hopefully the batsmen don't get complacent, for some reason if the bowlers do well the batsmen play like ***** and vice-versa

Seems like a trash pitch to me if the players complain about it. We can judge though when Pakistan bat though.
 
I just saw the wicket of Sehwag and if you talk about bad technique, he makes our openers look like Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail
 
where are lutonboy and lara400 when we are getting real scores and not just made up stuff, really shouldn't be allowed to post if you are just going to make stuff up
 
You think Cricinfo send their reporters to every single game every single time? Someone with a laptop sitting in the stadium sends the score?

Remember again this is a warm up game. Everyone is busy getting organized for other events for the approaching world cup. Do you think people really care about this game?

I agree, Cricinfo is biased when it comes to India and England but us folks have to grow up and not shout bias every single time.

Imagine if this was happening in Pakistan..We would be called all sorts all over the world ...Pakistan are not organised..Pakistan cant showcase the worldcup...Pakistan are this Pakistan are that etc.etc etc.

There is no excuse in my opinion we are living in the 21st century man..where are all the techies ? Shame on the organizers !!:16:

Danish bowled 10 overs for 35 runs and a wicket, i think we really need to play him especially against the WI, we could rest him against India and Sri Lanka as they usually play spin pretty well and we would probably need a little more batting if they bat well against the spinners
 
Yup, looks like Rana is out of the reckoning. Nice to see Danish being economical and I think Hafeez is making a big claim to be in the side by picking up key wickets
 
Why are they showing the India v WI game on my feed? I paid for the OZ v England game!
