Hafeez will never score a double ton in ODIs, he's mentally weak, so stop expecting him to lol.
 
This is way too easy for Azhar, he can choose how many runs he would like to score today.

When the opposition is zimbabwe, pitch is flat, and you are batting first, mental strength goes out of the window. Hafeez is really the only guy in the side capable of scoring a 200 in ODIs given his fitness and ability to bash minnows.

Capable, yes. But its not gonna happen, Zimbabwe or not. Hafeez has thrown away so many centuries and there's a reason why he has a lot of 70-80+ scores and literally has the hundred on his plate, but cannot get there.
 
Hafeez always chokes when he gets close to a milestone, which is probably why he will never get a 200 in ODIs. Whenever he looks a million dollars, he throws it away.

Atleast our batsmen don't look like they'll be getting out in the next delivery like before. Those were very tense times with heart in throat viewing.
 
Haris is young in his career. He shouldn't miss out on scoring oppurtunities like these. He should play every single game.

This match will decide whether Asad or Babar gets to play in the first ODI vs. Sri Lanka. If one fails and the other does well, then it's an easy decision; if both fail, than the one who has comparatively looked better should play; if both do well, then the one who has comparively done better should play, while the other can count himself unlucky, but that is the nature of the game, only eleven can play.
 
I don't like batsmen hitting the last ball for a boundary. More often than not we don't get to see the replay.
 
I hope Hammad Khan Niazi gets to play a prominent role with both bat and ball today. I like him, but I dislike whining, and him not getting a chance to bat or full quota of overs would simply give more ammo to people.
 
Harris Sohail is must for SL, not only is Odis but must for test.

Our right handes batsmen cannot handle Herat, you got to have lefty in middle order. It's about time he debuts in test.

In Odis there is no question about his position, batting coach need to work with him on pull and cut. He is gold after that.

Agreed, Haris Sohail should bat in Tests to learn how to pace and build a long innings and with Younis and Misbah reaching the end of their careers, he should be groomed as a long-term replacement in the middle order.

Pakistan need at least two left handers in middle order to face Herath.
 
Still can't believe Shafiq is in the ODI squad and the fact that people are okay with it.

He's worse than Younis Khan in LOIs, and that is not saying much at all. A true TTF.

He has a freakish average in List A, but 50+ ODI games are more than enough to realize that he will never replicate that average in ODI cricket. There are FAR better batsmen Pakistan can use at the #3-#5 position that will do a better job then Shafiq. Management has wasted so much time on this guy in LOIs, he has a mental block and doesn't look like he'll ever break it.

Move on PCB.

I do think we're one specialist batsman light. We've got four all rounders in Malik, Hafeez, Hammad and Anwar which is a bit excessive.

He is better than younis.

But by International standards useless. Should never play shorter format.

Obviously Asad shafiq, if shafiq has to retain his place in the playing 11 he needs to score 80-100 at a good SR around 90. No way haris gonna sit for shafiq.
 
Pakistan management made a mistake , Babaar should have opened. Neef to invest in younger players.
 
Hafeez is a different batsmen when pace is below his limits of 120 [emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]

I think since he's been appointed captain, he failed to cross 50 only in 2nd ODI vs Bangladesh

Did you just call Anwar Ali an all-rounder? The guy that missed and got bowled by a full toss on leg stump.

Be patient and happy that he is finally debuting. Besides, he's set to come in at 3, so give the management some props for allowing the debut and putting him in the Top 4. PCB is rarely this competent.
 
We're due a batting collapse. Might as well do it here during a dead rubber match and see what the lower order is made of rather than in Sri Lanka.
 
In sha Allah Hafeez will make his 10th ton today.

Still I believe Babar should have opened, with Rizwan at #3.
 
Are we OK then in keeping Azhar and Hafeez as the opening ODI combination for Sri Lanka ?

They've done well together in this series so I guess team management will stick with them though I don't like prospect of Hafeez facing quality new ball bowlers.
