They have bowled out South Africa for scores of around 200 three times and now 128.

The strengthless Amir as they say in Urdu "Doob ke mar jana chaiye" when the Sri Lankan pacers have the strength and fitness to operate in the high 130's and even 140's throughout the tour with literally the same kind of poor inefficient batting whereas our pacers were operating at 127-130 km/hr on the most supportive pitches for hit the deck pace bowling.

Also Indian pacers, dont forget that. Indians were also facing a much weaker South African batting than us.

Taking nothing away from Sri Lankan bowling who have bowled brilliantly and definitely deserve to be the first asian nation to win test series in south africa

Agreed... Didn't watch the SL games but followed the scores. One thing I must say SA have been on the hook by this SL team.

They have performed brilliantly.. Except QDK no other batter showed spine against their bowling... Mind boggling that having big names in pak bowling and having Azhar as coach we haven't progressed but regressed...

ABDV ? What are you talking about. Indian bowling was good in that series. Batting was the issue. Many went off the boil. Morkel Vernon Ngidi were all able to do well.

This bowling is an average bowling bar Lakmal.
Proven in OZ and NZ. SA is carrying batsmen in poor form.

We could have taken the tall Irfan to SA. He could have been deadly on those tracks.

Who were the big name test pace bowlers in Pak team ?
Maybe Sri Lanka studied Pakseries and learnt from our mistakes. It was Pak batting that let us down most; no pressure to use for our bowlers even when bowlers did well.

It should be "Indians were facing a much stronger South African batting than us".
As pak got spanked by abd less South Africa!

Enough with the excuses of no scoreboard, runs from the batsmen for the bowlers. A good bowler will perform regardless of the runs. Pakistan's pace bowling attack is horribly over rated and Amir especially carries a reputation that he does not deserve.

And yet we hype average bowlers like Amir as our best test bowler for losing tests as if its some achievement.

Yeh bhi din dhekne thay - Pakistan’s pace bowlers are not just inferior to both India and Sri Lanka but also slower by about 10kph on average.

How do our boys compare with the current Bangladeshi quicks in speed ?

When some said our bowling is the problem, and fans bashed all of those posts.

Our fast bowling is even worse than our batting. Amla scored two fifties against us

lol typical pakistani mentality, we become worst team in the world after few losses and the best team after few wins.

But we havent won tests against Sri Lanka and South Africa ...

Australia managed to draw a test against us in UAE of all places and NZ managed to draw a whole series with us in UAE.

What are the few test wins that you keep thinking about as success?

One against Aus and one Against NZ in DUBAI ? Lol.

Not only the pacers, but the batsmen too.

A few of us on here said that this South Africa team isn't a strong one and it's being proved by Sri Lanka.

We drew two series in england back to back against the same sqaud which thrashed the indians 4-1.

Agree, our batsmen were bad but it was our bowling that mainly let us down.

Amir was poor with the new ball and wasted it. Hasan apart from first match was nothing special and Abbas had a shocking series.

SL newbies have shown more quality than our bowlers.

But our bowlers are bowling more than 145+ in PSL. How can they perform poor in test, when they perform good in leagues which offer them good money? I think they save themselves for such leagues, otherwise they know they wont be able to score cheap money

Sri Lankans have been battle hardened by years of playing with top teams like India. It is finally paying off for them.

Lol. They played Pak far more often. I remember there were 3 back to back to back series. One in UAE then in SL and then again in UAE few years ago. We just stopped playing them as I think we got bored

It was painful to see likes of Amir bowling at 127-130 kph. I believe he doesnt put his heart and full effort in longer versions of the game.

Amir has lost it all. Don't even get me started there. You can see Hassan is working on muscles and body building for stamina and more pace, but when you look at Amir, he just wants to play ODI & T20 leagues for cheap money. Test cricket requires effort & skill, which is due to determination.

Rahat & Junaid built our bowling unit after Amir took a fall for cheap money. Rahat & Junaid could bowl with swing with new ball, in UAE. I saw it when I watched those matches, not much but enough to out a batsman. And Amir can't swing it

How is India being brought here into the discussion?

This is about South Africa and Pakistan's performance in South Africa compared to Sri Lanka. You really want to bring India here then let's get some perspective.

1. India just recently beat Australia in Australia while same Sri Lanka got thrashed in Australia. You think Pakistan would get anything but a thrashing in Australia?

2. It is much easier to draw a series 1-1 as NZ schooled Pakistan in Dubai, then to win a test series over 5 matches. Pakistan played 2 tests against England, while India played 5 and lost.

3. Let's not talk about a 2-2 draw which happened years ago, because that team had Misbah and Younis in it, who are Pakistan's finest test batsmen.

The topic of this thread was the poor performance of Pakistan in South Africa, and you twisted it to say that Pakistan did well in England 01 FREAKING YEAR AGO , in 2 ODD TESTS, to prove we have done well.

LOL.

That's height of intellectual dishonesty.

We really need a new ball bowler who can pick up early wickets in one days and tests. Going into world cup thats one of my biggest fear that our bowling is not as good as it used to be.

Let's not go OTT here.
Sri Lankans bowlers would not have survived more than a few games for us as we would have all been asking for there heads after a few games.
here's y- lakmal is still averaging 40 and Dhananjay 53. The other 2 or 3 are newbies and they will be averaging 35 -40 soon too.

I love the overreactions on PP

^also will it still be considered soft runs when our batters score against SL?

This is why I love PP lol

Pradeep and Kamara were out as well . Our test match bowling is a real worry.

Pakistan should be ashamed of themselves given their 3-0 whitewash.

Sri Lanka showed a lot of heart and congratulations to them.
