Any sign of Junaid Khan swinging the ball with the new cherry?

34.6 Junaid Khan to Bell, no run, top over by junaid
34.5 Junaid Khan to Bell, no run, living dangerously there bell
34.4 Junaid Khan to Bell, no run
34.3 Junaid Khan to Bell, no run
34.2 Junaid Khan to Bell, no run, shout for an lbw, umpire shakes his head
34.1 Junaid Khan to Bell, no run, backfoot punch down to mid off

That's a good sign for Pakistan.
Its the 35th over. I'm doubting there would be much swing with the angle Junaid bowls at.

Most will be going away from the right hander. He usually keeps his seam sideways.

There might be a touch of reverse, but mostly would've beaten the outside edge.

This is my guess.

I read the score during the our first 15 overs. England 60/0 with Adil and Junaid bowling.

Its my guess Junaid wasn't swinging the ball much but if someone saw they could give more perspective.

Khan has bowled eight overs for seven runs. No wickets to show for some good bowling yet.

I think England have done better than I thought they would. Pakistan should be a bit concerned.

If they can handle Yasir Shah then we're doomed. Dont expect our batters to score on a consistent basis against the likes of Broad, Anderson and Wood.

He has no wicket taking ability. Does not deserve to be in the test team.

They are playing the A team and not Yasir.

England should try and fit in James Taylor. I think he has the game to survive in these conditions, especially with Bell in poor touch.

Agree.

But he will not come in for Bell. Bairstow will strugle and is liekly to be the one dropped for Taylor.

I think Buttler will struggle big time! And then they will hand over the gloves to Bairstow and James Taylor will fit in!

Junaid Khan (lf) 10.0 5 11 0

Good looking figures! If he can add some wickets to it in order to make it look better!

Hopefully, things go well, InshAllah.

He never does. Don't you get it, he does not have wicket taking ability. This is a fallacy, always flatters to deceive.

Eough of this. He was outstanding before his injury and loss of form and has dismissed some of the top batters around, more than once.

Do tell us how many wickets he has got in the last 18 months?

Read my post again, carefully.

It doesn't take 18 months to recover from an injury. You have no idea what you are talking about.

He is a dud bowler and did not develop. He has wasted the new ball countless times. So what if opposition tuk tuks him for a few overs. He is unable to take wickets, he has no method.

He had a bunch of fluky spells 4 years ago and went downhill since then. There is a reason why he wasn't even in the squad when Asif and Amir were around.

Cook and Root are miles ahead of everyone else in this batting lineup. England struggling against Zafar Gohar, wait until they get a hold of Yasir Shah.

A good comeback by England XI!

Zafar Gohar is the only positive so far!

The young fast bowlers are not delivering despite having great FC bowling stats!

Sadaf Hussain must have been tried at least!

Buttler hasn't made runs in ages. I wonder if England will drop him and let Bairstow keep.

I would ask you to read my post again but you seem incapable of doing so. Junaid was injured and was then in recovery-mode and never managed to get back to the form he showed in 2013 and early 2014. He has been slowly improving though and the selectors think enough of him to make him the 'A' team captain, in order to assess his form.

Bowling superbly for more than a year is not a bunch of "flukey spells" and he went downhill due to the reasons I already mentioned.

Laughable to criticize him from being unable to get into an attack that consisted of Amir, Asif, Gul and Ajmal. Not every bowler in an Amir and Junaid was only 20 back in 2010.

If these were the reasons you think he "doesn't have wicket-taking ability" or "always flatters to deceive" then it's you, who has no idea what he's talking about.

Cricket is not an olympic sport or even comparable to high intensity athletics like football. You honestly want me to believe it takes 18 months to get back to full fitness? :91: :91: Excuses my friend, excuses.

Do you know how many new ball spells I have witnessed where he has been wicketless? I don't care if he concedes 10 runs for 8 overs, he is there to take wickets and he can't.

He has not developed consistent swing or variation. In the 2013/2014 spells barring Aane Do series he did nothing in the opening spell only to come back later and take wickets off slogging batters or jaded batters in tests after 60 overs or so.

Like I said he has no method to his bowling. He is a short version of Irfan essentially. If after 5 years of international cricket you are unable to produce consistent swing and variation what does that make you?

Spare me your all knowing attitude, I think I able to detect a lemon when I see one.

Not surprising when u hv a team littered with mediocre bowlers with not one a promising potential

Bairstow's performance means Taylor might have to sit out in the first test, which should be good for Pakistan

Zafar should play ahead of Babar to be honest. Zulfi is too old and simply tosses it up with no revs on the ball. Even England can smash his pies. Rahat and Wahab/Imran should be the seamers.

Moeen has started to give us the blues already, looks like the prayers of a few PPers have been answered already.

3 out. Useless selections of Sami Aslam and Khurram Manzoor. Also one of the highest run scorers last year, Ali Asad fails.

We must take overall FC average into account as well before selecting players.

Sami Aslam looks to be a poor batsman in the longer format. His F/C record is decent but he has failed against international bowlers either in Test cricket or for Pakistan A.

our all our "A" team batsmen just on a block-athon?

I really like Iftikhar Ahmed seems like a mature batsmen and should be given a chance in the ODIs. Can use the long handle and bowls handy off spinners

Clever strategy to tire out their guys in 40 degree heat. ;-)

Fawad batting now, and Usman Salahuddin (massive tuk-tuk) and Captain Tuk-tuk himself still to come. Enjoy the block-athon. :misbah

Nothing wrong with 1.8 runs an over. If anything, slow it down! Don't be reckless.

Both batsmen in right now should retire not out and misbah and few others should get batting practice for last session.

Fawad should be darted back into the team if we want an extra spin option. Solid batsman.

Is misbah going to get any batting practice here or is he waiting for a wicket to fall?

Manzoor's woes outside the off-stump continue. His forward-defense is all over the place, catching practice for the slips.

Great catch by Broad.

Usman Salahuddin in now so looks like all the young batsmen getting time out in the middle.

Manzoor is a limited strokeless wonder and god knows why he keeps being persisted with!

wood will break on this tour, heath and pitches will get to him

I don't know to be honest. Our batsmen can fall like a pack of cards against intelligent bowling. If Broad and Anderson stick to their plans then they'll have some success.

They did well last time too, but their batting sucked and Ajmal/Rehman made naan kebab of England. It were Ajmal and Rehman which were the difference between the two sides.

Is Misbah even playing or not?

They must attack Moeen Ali after tea. Too much caution against him is not good.
No they should not they are making him look really good on purpose so that England falls into the trap and play him in the tests for sure. [emoji6]

England continue their good performance which is troubling for Pakistan. I do feel that not being the overwhelming favourites will help out guys play their best cricket.
