YEMEN - A Saudi air raid had targeted a boat carrying 12 Pakistani sailors off Mukha coast in the Yemeni province of Ta’izz, Yemen’s Saba news agency said. According to the report, the other six sailors are still unaccounted for.

The deadly raid on Sunday comes as the Riyadh regime continues its military campaign against neighbouring Yemen, which was launched in March 2015 to reinstall the former Yemeni government.

Yemen’s former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi has ordered a major assault on the country’s Red Sea coast against Houthi Ansarullah fighters and allied army forces, who have been defending the nation against a deadly Saudi offensive.

Reports said that Saudi warplanes had intensified their air raids on the province of Ta’izz, which has witnessed heavy fighting on the ground between pro-Hadi militants and Yemeni armed forces in recent days.

Meanwhile, a child was killed as Saudi fighter jets bombed residential buildings in the province of Sa’ada. The girl’s father and two of her brothers were also injured in the attack, which targeted the province’s district of Razih.

In the same province, another airstrike hit the Baqim district and left a Yemeni woman dead and two children wounded. The Saudi military aggression has left at least 11,400 civilians dead, according to the latest tally by a Yemeni monitoring group.

The lack of outrage in Pakistan over this is shocking considering how the whole country was baying for blood after Salala but I guess despite the shortcomings of our education system we have learnt the valuable lesson of never biting the hand that feeds. There hasn't been so much as a peep from the government, I haven't seen any coverage of this on TV and the comments sections of the newspapers reporting this are full of gloating Indian trolls and Pakistanis trying to make excuses for the Saudis instead of being outraged.

Ironically none of the main stream newspaper sites have even published this story. I came to know about this incident from this thread. Thanks for posting.

A strong word needs to be said to these scums. I would go as far as dispatching a couple of naval frigates and positioning them just beyond Saudi waters. These filth need to know who is boss.

It's like the news of Pakistanis being killed fighting as Iranian proxies in Syria. We are reading about it in UK news but absolute silence from Pakistan itself. Pakistan should be taking a firmer stance with both Saudi Arabia and Iran, they should have nothing to do with their fight for supremacy over the Islamic turf wars. Seems like they are trying to keep a foot in both camps here rather than look at their responsibilities to their own citizens.

Mainstream outlets have a lot of outreach and if they cover this they risk being sanctioned by PEMRA and the government in light of laws passed in recent years that make it practically illegal to criticize close allies, laws that were pretty much drafted specifically to silence criticism of Saudi Arabia at a time when Pakistani media was finally starting to hold them to account for their conduct vis-a-vis Pakistan.

The fact there's hardly a peep about this shows you who pays the bills in Pakistan.

The Saudis seem to have impunity.

Pak-sa relationship is not sustainable long run, saudis have their own financial problems and don't expect any freebies coming pakistans way anytime soon.

I genuinely didnt know about this till this thred.

It's not really mainstream news, I did a google search and it only shows up on a few lesser known sources, even they are repeating the same article word for word. Need to know what the Pakistani boat was doing there and why it was targeted, if indeed it was.

Which says a lot considering this was first reported yesterday afternoon. Only reason I waited until now to post it was because I was waiting to see if anyone else would.

If I am not wrong Pakistan is supporting a naval blockade on that front. Simply bring them home. Let the Saudis fight their pointless war on their own.

We can only dream of the day when Saudia will be held accountable.

I did not know either.

Inna lillah e Wa inna eleh e rajeoon.

Very Sad. Let's see what the government does and what the FO has to say.

Saudi Arab has committed atrocities across Yemen and there is no Accountability what so ever.

Is this true/confirmed? I have not seen any newspaper or news channel cover the story.

A few newspapers in Pakistan have run the story including two fairly reliable ones in Pakistan Today and The Nation so I don't see any reason to doubt it unless there's an official refutation with reasonable evidence.

Saudi crimes are overlooked by everyone including the U.S and the U.K. Well, money can buy you loyalties.

who were these sailors? And what purpose did they have in mind going to a war zone?

Salala was an attack on Pakistan army. The comparison should end there.

If it's a case of Iranian paid Pakistani militants then Iran should be brought to book here. But of course let's all ignore this point and carry on with Saudi bashing....

They are held accountable every day on here apart from the money which they pay us. I dream of the day we can tell them "here's your money back, now get lost we're going to go with Iran for free!"
