Shaheen Shah Afridi 10-fer leads Pakistan to 109-run win over West Indies in 2nd Test - Series Drawn

Imran Butt might not make runs but he’s taken catches that would be dropped by most Pakistan fielders. He’s basically saving 40-70 runs with his fielding, and that for me is just as valuable as a batsman scoring 40-70.
 
Can Pakistan drop Imran Butt and hire him as a fielding consultant? :lol
This guy has an insane record in slips.
 
Blackwood likes driving, Hasan should give him a bumper in next over (atleast one bouncer per over to Blackwood).
 
Pak got the game plan right against Blackwood in the first innings, he commits with the front foot sometimes too early and shortball can work like Shaheen used in the first innings.
 
He's the best ever from Pakistan. Covers a lot of territory and clearly enjoys catches coming towards him.
 
If only Imran Butt can improve his batting, what a brilliant slip fielder!!!

I dare say he should be tried out as anODI opener, may do well in white ball cricket.

You don't get to say this too often (read never) for a Pakistani cricketer, but Imran butt's slip catching is of highest order . This guy has already taken 16 catches. It's a conundrum who should be dropped Abid or Imran. Someone has to be dropped. Abid , Imran, Azhar should not be in the top three of your team.

Atm he's contributing only in the field as a slip catcher. Not required in ODI'S.
The most important fielding position in ODI is point and we have Imam Rhodes who stations that position and bats explosively

Azhar needs to retire first, before the other two need to be dropped. All alternative openers are just as rubbish as these two. Azhar should be replaced by Saud.
 
Imran Butt is easily among the top 3 slip catchers in the world.....if only he could hold a bat

Abid should be dropped because he’s played more matches and is a proven minnow basher. Imran with his slip catching almost contributes 50 runs per innings considering our poor catching abilities.
Azhar must also retire his record over the last 3-4 years is nothing short of dismal and he's well past it
 
Bit of variable bounce and pacers are doing a fine job however can be worth trying Nauman atleast for a couple of overs from one end to see how it goes and if he can extract something. If there is something for him than he can provide bit of variation and another kind of threat here
 
Babar wasting time with Faheem again like last inning. Agree with Titan24 Nauman should be tried instead, if not bring back Abbas/Afridi

Why pair Nauman with Abbas?

Should have been brought with a more attacking bowler at the other end.
 
Bowl is turning a big. Nauman needs to be utilized well here
 
If you want Nauman to be successful, you're gonna need more fielders around the bat, specifically in front of the bat.

That will help in case the ball bounces or grips a bit more than expected and will force batsmen to target areas down the ground or if the bowler bowls a short one.
 
Abbas should be worrying about his effectiveness on this wicket.

Faheem has been bowling much better.
 
All you need is patience as Rizwan has said, wickets will tumble. Just get Kraigg and this game will be over.
 
2 Test match series should not be played , series should be at least 3 test matches , so that we get proper results
 
Nauman should have been bowling 5 overs earlier, as it takes spinners time to get in the groove. Better late than never.

Agreed. I dont mind or dislike T20s but, them making test series just a 2 match affair for most teams is definitely disappointing. Hopefully PCB sorts this out for Pak scheduling.

It's funny how they reduced the Test match for 2 T20's only for it to be reduced to 1 extra T20 and then 3/4 of T20's got rained out.

A 3rd Test between these two would have been excellent to watch.

The groundstaff did a terrible job but kudos to the curators for producing excellent pitches for both matches and making it interesting throughout.
 
Shaheen is a bit tired and naturally so in these humid conditions. His pace is down a bit but still trying hard.
 
With Nauman now in the setup we can rest assured that Yasir will simply not play on respect in SENA test matches. Yes Yasir would be part of home matches and pitches with assistance but Nauman clearly has to be preferred over Yasir in SENA matches.

The biggest luxury Nauman offers when compared to Yasir is controlling the run rate in SENA games and giving much needed rest to fast bowlers.

Not to forget he is potentially a better bat as well. It was a mistake to have current Yasir over him in first test.

Need to get Brathwaite and Holder out as early as possible. These two have the ability to bat a lot of time without taking any risks.

Not to forget this is Abbas’ territory with dukes ball and something in the wicket. After his struggles in Aus and NZ it was pretty straightforward fact that he is only effective in certain kind of conditions along with the fact that post shoulder injury his effectiveness went down and most of his effectiveness is dependent upon the new ball (Exceptions aside)

He is a skillful operator but, with a lot of limitations now and Pak needs to form a better attack to compete in most of the overseas conditions.

Yep, target Kraigg next session and this game will be over fast.

I don't see Desilva, Holder and co lasting long.

Mayers will be nervous to score, get Abbas on when the break is over.

An early wicket after lunch and Pakistan should be well on their way to victory.

Your thoughts on Nauman Ali?

He's debuted quite late in his career, but he looks much better than others.

His role will be pivotal in the WTC in my opinion, especially when we're touring countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
 
Numan has broken the wall down.

Mayers & DeSilva are walking wickets, Holder might put up a fight but that won't trouble us.
 
Nauman should stick the carrot out for Holder to go after.

Bowl it flat and outside off, and let him try and swipe across the line.
 
Pakistan's bowling unit is very good. They should win some games in England as well
 
pakistan need to stay focused and get these last 4 wickets. we already threw 1st test away. dont want a drawn test here.
 
This partnership needs a 100 more runs for windies to have a chance.
They still have kemar Lara at no 10
