A man with over 200 ODIs.... Obviously he's got the zeal n temprament dat selectors sw in him... Wich common fans don't see ....
He n Sania, the best sporting couple in sub-continent :D
 
I'm still burning.

To soothe it I'll have to look at Malik batting in top 4 in defeats.

We can't surely have lost more matches then we won when Malik batted in top 4?

I mean no way Malik can average 10 in Sri Lanka, 14 in South Africa, 9 in England.

Cricinfo is messed up. It's database seems to show Malik averaging 18 vs Australia, 6.50 vs New Zealand, 10 vs South Africa.

I guess if I was retarded I would say that this shows we only win when Malik performs, which isn't very often and that is why he should be in the team.

Pointless innings by Afridi today. Top order failed so it wasn't his responsibility to score.

Wander what would have happened if Malik had walked in at 47/5?

Hafeez, Asad, Nasir and co still failed...

Its good that Afridi (once in a blue moon occurrence) saved Pakistan...however selection team still need to answer that how can one fix the problem of top order by replacing lower order?

Black Zero is trolling everyone based on the fact that he knows you can make up any story you want depending on how you dissect stats.

(W63 you of all people should know that, being a stat expert!)

The fact is that Malik averages 32 after over 200 games. That makes him a TTF. End of.

BZ can never directly counter that - and that's when he runs away. So guys sick to that and he won't come back. :)

lol he made an amazing century yesterday. Afridi just played second fiddle. You people a re all haters. That straight six to finish off the game was a sight to behold. 7000 runs and counting for Malik the legend. You know I hope he gives back to the people fo pakistan too with his skills etc. lets hope umar and co learn from this legend!

i have also hear that a top county side are lobbying for his services. allegedly 100,000 a week plus contract is on the table!

I heard that too but I hope he doesn't accept £100,000. Either they pay him what he is worth or he shouldn't get out of bed.

At this stage in his career with his legacy secure, it's not about money but respect. It's disrespectful to only offer the G.O.A.T £100,000/week.

this is an allegation...I am against designing stats and/or argument ... This is your and others practice, not mine.....so please refrain from accusing me...

I just present raw official data...someone does not like it...then not my problem...

presenting only stats where Malik was involved in winning.....or played at 1-4....or was a captain....or anyother combo of those......those ain't raw stats....that's the definition of nitpicking

you're just full of BS......and pathetic just like Malik's "raw stats" whether in Tests, ODi's or T20's

If Malik doesnt bowl.. he shudnt be in the team.

We dont need a no 6 batsman who is in the team ONLY for his batting!

Wot a waster... get him out of the team, unless he bowls in middle of match, atleast 5-8 overs a match is required from him IFF he wants to be back in team.

Also his batting is VERY poor... i'd rather keep Misbah till he's 45.. than have malik! young strong guy who cant hit a shot!

:))) :))) :))) It doesnt trump anything. They have DOUBLE the w/l ratio they had back, around the time, when malik was captain. If they were minnows how are they winning more regularly against the top teams?

no need for zid bazi as you are neither from WI nor from BD

If some one loses from SA/Aus/Eng..ofcourse it would effect it's W/L..however it would not make that team (top 8 team) a minnow.. (not so complex idea to grasp)

We need him. The problem is he plays basically all over the positions and gets confusing. He's definitely much better than Hafeez bowling or batting (check the stats). Drop Hafeez and bring in Malik and keep him at 3 and use him for bowling. Unlike Hafeez, Malik has a Doosra. Malik needs a fix position on batting otherwise he will continue to be very inconsistent. Hopefully he'll return soon. Have a feeling he will hehehe

I predicted 2 years ago about Hafeez (when he was the golden professor of PP).and now ppers just started reliazing this

I predicted about Misbah even before our series vs Eng...in UAE..when we lost odis..

this WI team has lost ODI series vs Bangladesh...just few months ago...

performance wise one of the lowest point...

If we look at wins..since jan 2012..vs top teams..Malik avg 110+


This selected team is labeled as perfect team by most posters...so they must defend the performance...


I am more interested in T20 championship going on in National Stadium than this minnow vs minnow series.

Legend so his domestic performance finally following the international level.

All the stats are meaningless as they include playing Pak. Since hope of international cricket in Pak in next 5 years is almost zero those stats should be excluded.
 
really unfortunate posters....they came to post when he failed in a match...

however they were no where when he won three MOM, 3 50s... won three matches
remained NOs in three matches (while playing as an opener)

anyway, still he won the all rounder of the tournament

scored 200+ ...
 
I dont understand how anyone can actually support shoaib malik these days. Sure he has great domestic stats and he once used to be a decent international player. Those days are long gone though.

Last 2 years he has played 24 ODIs. Has an average of 18 with a SR of 70. These stats include minnows zimbabwe, ireland, afghanistan.

He can make triple hundreds in domestic for all anyone cares, but if he cant perform in international hes useless until further notice.

Malik's a star player in T20 domestic. In fact I'm sure he's the best one there in Pakistan domestic. Best batsman, best captain, good bowler, excellent fielder. No competition. Really no point arguing his worth there even if he got a duck or two.

In turn it's also not worth arguing on how Malik's a star player in international T20. He ain't by any stretch of imagination. He's average. Hasn't lived up to his potential at all. And before this position excuse comes up, Malik himself liked to play down the order in domestic T20, finish games and get his team out of trouble if the rest fail which more often or not he succeeded. Just doesn't do that at international level.

Been one of shoaibs biggest supporters throughout his career, hes a top bloke which makes it easier as well.

His performances in england genuinely sickened me however and he looked thoroughly inept. To watch him play like he did yesterday has bemused me if anything.

Still think maybe he he has something to offer if utilised properly-a number 6 batter who can hit big and a part time spinner/world class fielder.

Never say never.
