so I think he's the highest scorer IN CPL, will be interesting if he gets a comeback
 
We need him back. He's an ATG batsman that was discarded unfairly, as he's shown in domestic. Drop Misbah, make him captain.

He's the player we need!

No you are wrong. I want everybody to succeed who play even the likes of farhat and tanvir however when they don't i will smack their selections.

We see millions of threads about Hafeez, Akmal, Afridi, Farhat and other's failures but how many thread we have for Malik's brilliant selection and performances? Double standards it's its highest!!!!

May be Hafeez, Afridi, Umar Akmal and Farhat are also too connected to remain on side lines..... yet most posters are still complaining and complaining about them! :P

It was fun when he was around.

As for support, it boggles the mind how this guy gets selected time and again.

I said it in yesterday's match too.

At least Afridi bowls. What does Malik do? Part-time pies and an average of 15 or something.

I don' think anyone supports Malik, but if someone does, he is welcome to try and defend his hero.
 
12 (23) in first game and 15 (18) all in all 27 (41) and 12 runs given @ Eco. 9.00 absolutely rubbish performance taking him to SA will be criminal
 
Malik is absolutely rubbish and I'm sorry to say this. Everytime he bats I think he is mature and experienced and least likely to brain fart but he lets me down time after time and should be dropped.

WL is still active in PP but BZ almost disapperared , we can safely assume that the winner is WL. :malik
 
Malik completely destroyed BZ with his horror performances. Surprised to see there are still people who support him. Strange.

BZ did always maintain that for Malik to re-produce his best and for Pakistan to win consistently he would have to have been made captain! :(

This is like visiting a Somme Battlefield hundred years after the event. Vegetation is growing chaotically in the silence of nature but the desolation is still palpable in the air and, if you just lend your ear, it seems that you can still hear the clamor of wars and the horrifying screams of thousands of men soaking their blood in the mud. And for what? The ego of two powers that didn't want to let the other have 1mm land over the other.

This thread was legendary and page by page fights of WL and BZ were a treat to watch. In the end BZ was left alone by malik. :P :P :P

I still believe this thread has the potential to reawaken if malik hits couple of fifties. :D
 
What a memorable thread. I didnt spend much time here because I am relatively new to PP but had some great time here. Poor BZ never showed his face again at PP.
 
BZ fought like a champion for Malik. Out numbered 1000 to 1 but never backed down.
 
Some great memories with this thread. Bloke who made this thread never showed up again. At first we took BZ seriously and argued with stats but later it was a fun thread. I must have good 500 posts in this thread.

Never understood what he brings to the team (fielding aside)

HIS S/R was shoddy today, he should be replaced by a better batsmen. God how does he keep getting picked

See, what was the whole point of including this passenger in the squad, let alone the playing 11?

He has been beyond pathetic and he couldn't even do well against his favourite team.

Also, how can you play him above Maqsood?

He has "experience" but what good is experience, if you can only go at a strike rate of 90?

Hafeez is also to blame but this guy, has been horrible since 2010.

I would drop him for Sharjeel but the management, will most likely stick with Malik and we will crash out of the tournament.
 
We all know how he gets selected, so theres no point in complaining, just have to live with it.

I know but everyone was harping on about Malik against Ind, like he was going to smash a hundred.

Truth be told, form isn't like a switch which you can turn on and off at your leisure.
 
Malik did what he normally does. He makes a sedate 15-20 ...He was never good enough .. Don't ever want to see him again.
 
Tbh, his innings doesn't look too bad in the context of our remaining batters. Actually it stands out sort of! :))
 
Had he not steadied the ship with UA b/w 10-15 overs we were looking at under 100 AO. He left you with perfect platform to launch at 100 after 15 overs.

Exactly, with 100 in 15 overs , with 6 wickets still to go it was fine enough. Many teams go on to 150-160 from there on.

It was Afridi and then Umar Akmal who failed to capitalize after Malik got dismissed.

That is true, he did start off with several dot balls, but unlike Hafeez he actually picked it up.

Still, they should have sent in an attacking batsmen like Maqsood before him.

One must wonder if he'll play in the next game or not.
 
Shoaib Malik vs Imran Farhat

I cannot believe it has to come to this, but id rather see Farhat in the green shirt than Malik , any similar sentiments?

I wonder if any other player in other teams is so less deserving of a spot and keeps getting selected.
 
I supported Malik but even I have given up on him over the last year or so. I was for his inclusion in the limited overs side as to me he was someone that rotated the strike and I felt had the ability to finish games for us. Didn't feel we had a decent replacement for him but the way Alam, Akmal and Shezad played in Asia cup I think our need for an innings stabilizer is gone.
What we need are consistent hitters at 5-7 not including Afridi. As our top 4 in ODI and T20 can give us a platform for the lower order to go after the bowling.

I echo the same as you have said above. I gave up on him in the last year. I am guessing BlackZero patient must have run out by now. I cannot blame him. But Shoaib Malik's career is still not over, as somehow he manages to come back, and show little glimpse of his old and yet, he disappoints us when it matters the most. Ever since 2007, Pakistan has not been able to find replacement of Inzimam yet. Those players you have mentioned have potential.
 
My uncle is a Neurosurgeon, I have convinced him free of charge to operate on anyone who still defends Malik.
