Should Malik be in the plans for the 2019 WC?

some of the posters here, at the peak of their stupidity, 1st of all, tell me did it make any sense to make him bat at no.6? are you really utilizing his batting skills at that position, Azhar has just no brain within his skull.

This is not ideally Malik Support Thread. It is brainless Malik Hatred thread. People just want to hate Malik for no reason. Otherwise they wouldnt be making fool of them in public forum. I mean how do you expect stabilizer batsman to slog it out of the park? As long as delivery hogging Azhar plays, Malik will be asked to score triple century in last few overs left so people can have go at Malik for mindless hatred reason. I mean some people are filled with mindless hatred and this is the thread.

Post of the month.

Leave them brother. These Malik haters are jealous to see a hardworking man from humble beginnings reach so far and so high up in the sky (and across the border). He's achieved more than other so called allrounders from other countries and from Pakistan.

Champions Trophy 2009, Aane Do series, Jeet lo Dil series, Jab tak hai jaan series, ODI series vs SAF. He doesn't mind, and neither should we.

Malik retired because he had no place in Test format despite double century. As for dancer, that dancer danced throughout the series and scored double century by fluke. How do you explain the ballet performance in first three Test matches? Everyone made fun of him. English commentators were laughing at him. They are the one who branded him ballet dancer not I.

No, he retired because he realised that he is not test class and would be exposed badly in England. Just look at his pathetic average outside of Asia. Younis scored that double century because he adjusted his technique in the forth test. You would know that if you bothered to watch the test series. And despite dancing, Younis still was getting starts in the first three matches. Malik after scoring that double century was scoring ducks and single figures. Younis adjusted his technique in the middle of a series. Malik despite playing for many years still doesn't know how to play the short ball and how to score runs against pacers. He is poor batsman and needs to be dropped asap.

True. Chokers will continue to choke as Malik simply continues his March to legendary status..what's your favourite innings? Mine is definitely his 240 not out against Anderson and Co in the second test in 2010. miandadrules.

I can see why you went for this innings, it was truly breathtaking.

We have to also consider that this was a green top and against a fearsome bowling attack. But we can't forget that three of his teammates were working against him. It was basically Malik vs 14 men.

My personal favourite is an innings that isn't even recognised officially.

During the Packer World Series, Malik scored 319 not out against an attack that consisted of Andy Roberts, Dennis Lillee, Richard Hadlee, Michael Holding and Chandrasekhar. ATG bowler after ATG bowler, no respite and Malik produced carnage that the Sydney Herald later called to have an "18" viewing classification, such was the horror.

That was the day Packer bestowed the moniker of "DON" Malik to our superstar.

Malik wasn't going to be selected for England series so he decided to retire in order to save himself the embarrassment of getting dropped. He knew that his performances in the test series after that double century weren't good enough to warrant a place for the next test series.

And the fact that Malik only scored 47 on UAE phatas in the next five innings after that double century in preciously the reason why his double century was a fluke. Can your brain not comprehend that or what? And YK was dancing a lot less in the final test hence why he scored that double century but you wouldn't know that because you obviously didn't watch the test series. The only reason he dances around the crease these days is because of his reflexes slowing down due to his age. If you going to come back with the same nonsense then consider this my final reply to you on this topic.

If PCB was going to drop Malik from the Test squad in England, it is still Malik fault. Damned if Malik does, damned if he doesn't. Amazing. :))

You probably are lost in your mind, doesn't no where to argue how to argue and yelling that everthing happened to him or done by him includes his fault...lol

They were not stupid to ask Malik to play in England. He couldn't score runs against in UAE. Like he was going to score on English pitches lol. And you keep calling YK double century fluke. Then what about Malik's double century? Was that some world class innings? No, that was the biggest fluke ever. His scores after that fluke double century were 0, 2, 7, 38 and 0. So basically 4 single digit scores with 2 ducks. Now that is what I call a fluke. Now please don't come back to me with the same nonsense.

You should've read Amir Sohail, Javed miandad etc. interviews after he scored the 200 and then the other runs.....It was all Misbahs conspiracy my brother, taking the hell out of him by bowling him all long day and then telling him to go out at no.3...and Maliks double was a fluke, just look at the difference in the weather btw UAE and England and then spot on. brainless from you.

Congratulations!!!!

Just registered his highest score in England!

Average has moved to 9.88 in only 17 innings. He is so close to the holy land of an average 10.

Come on Don!

Well now that Mickey has made all enemies, might as well go full steam ahead. This should be Malik's last game.

Lol Malik fans blaming Misbah as always for their hero's failures. Malik was brought in as an all rounder because Pak management for some stupid reason couldn't find another spin. There was no place for Malik in team except at 3 and we all saw and are seeing in the current series just how poor of a batsman this guy is. Averages in mid 30s in both tests and ODIs. All you need to know about this player. He should be ousted asap.

Didn't fool me after his Zimbabwe bashing. Always knew he would go missing against better teams. Has gotten worse against pacers.

Should retire with some grace now.

Better than being left out for good by no-nonsense Mickey

Hafeez is already heading home it is being reported in media

And again, any point of this post?

no place except no.3...r u kidding me...average of 30's is bad...are u kidding me?...stupid

at 4/66, match was already lost.

then only four batsmen contributed...
top 3 and bottom 4 were absent..

Malik should be sacked. He minnow bashed Zimbabwe and weak Sri Lankan team to cement his place in the team but he has been been exposed once again against the top teams. He should be kicked out.

Shobby unfortunately caught behind trying to run it down to 3rd man.

Took a brilliant catch today. Made a skyer look easy.

Think this series will be it for Malik. Everyone pay their respects to the legend.

What makes you think?

He has stuck to the team like a stubborn chewing gum stuck to the skin. Despite being totally awful throughout his 17 years of career.

Worse than even Afridi. Won't go, is in the good books of Mickey/Inzi/Media/politicians.

44 slaps to everyone who blindly supports this dud.

Has been an embarrassment throughout the series

miandadrules Don :malik is jumping again against Plunkett. :))) :))) :)))

And now got out!!!

:D

Think it's time to drop Malik now. He's been given a chance. Only done well against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. Even Hafeez had success against England and New Zealand as well. Bring in Rizwan for the rest of the ODIs.

Its not his fault today, the game was well lost.

But the guy just cannot play pace. He is terrible at it. He has no place in the team.

It's not his fault but he's expected to make a fight of it, him being a senior and by far the most experienced. But looked out of his depth. It's embarrassing enough when the top order are looking shaky against pace but when you're coming in at 6 and struggling it's awful.

Malik's true worth exposed after feasting on minnow attacks in 2015.

Goodbye and good riddance.

Completely out of touch
or
Mentally absent from the match.
or
Protesting against his #6 position.

he is a minnow basher, that is all. No ability against pace, defensive or offensive.

even if you are being played in the wrong position, it is not an excuse to not try and "protest". That should have one thrown out of the team for good.

I agree so I will restate as:

"He seems out of touch in new position of #6"

Even Amir the bowler has a 50 and this tailender's highest score is 28 in 17 innings. Embarrassing player

lol poor Malik, getting trolled by Faisal Iqbal of all people. :))

It never was his call. He is sent way down the order. Nothing he can do at that position. If it was Misbah in his position, people would have blamed the top order. So it is really clinically hatred that is at large here. :)

The worst ever performance by Malik in the history of his career...won't back him any more unless and until he comes back with a ton in the very near future!

Law of averages. Averaged 8 in England after a dozen and a half games, a half-century usually results after that.

Bit like Chris Martin being able to score a boundary every now and then during his playing career.

First time played #4 and scored 77, 100% consistent.

Just 3 matches earlier he scored 57* IN ENGLAND

and vs England just three matches back, scored 52 (SR of 150+) but this time in Dubai

I don't want to argue with a calculator.

Malik is trash and won't take Pakistan anywhere.

I always believed in Malik, have supported him in ODI's to bat at no.3. Today he proved he can bat against pace as well.

A true team man. Risks his own wellbeing to carry an injured teammate off the field.

He has survived by the skin of his teeth. For his own sake I hope that innings in the last odi gave him some hope that he can do ok (vs. abysmal) against pace. The windies series is an easy one, but he should know that every match is his last match. No place to hide when we get to Australia

Malik's last two international innings: 77 from 80 balls and involved in a match winning partnership of 163 with Sarfraz. And today 37 from 28 balls and involved in a match winning partnership of 69 with Sarfraz.

It seems like he is hitting a purple patch (and getting the best out of his teammates).

Pushed both Khalid and Sarfraz for singles and doubles..
and then bowled one good over and fielded extremely well.

Hitting his second peak in cricket atm. Insh Allah it stretched till the 2019 WC.

Whole country's prayers are behind you Shob.

Shobstopper has become unstoppable.

That's why I hope to marry a woman in the same field as me as well. So we can challenge each other to improve and be the best versions of our selves.

Fantastic role model. Babar, Nawaz, Sarfraz and Imad all look up to him like a big brother.
