Malik's Straight bat loft off Zaheer and Akmal's sweep six were the best moments of the match for me....hope these 2 can keep this up

Plus I do want to see the talented Umar Akmal, and other batsmen to make some runs in these "carefree pressure less" warm up games :D

let him celebrate WL, (after 3 years)........too bad he couldn't cross 40 this time either :P

congrats to the whole nation, :malik also just a six in like 3 years.......too bad it was a warn-up game.......nevertheless, that day shall be celebrated as a NATIONAL HOLIDAY !

I am sure you are damn proud of that one T20 six in 19 matches and 3 years..... even Misbah has hit 7 sixes in 16 matches.... even Wahab Raiz has hit 3 sixes in 5 matches...

Why does the hate continue even after a player performs?

You're only as good as your last game.

People need to look at the bigger picture and get over this vendetta they have against particular players.

I have spent the last 2-3 years hating on Akmal and Malik.

But even I have to give it up to them.

It was a phenomenal performance under some intense pressure. Stuff this talk about no pressure in practise games.

This was Pak v Ind.

1- Malik was retired hurt...in 40th over
2/3- you got 2 examples from 2005 :facepalm: (3) Malik should have stayed until end and should not expected any score from MoYo/YK
4- yes, this is Malik's failure that he could not save the batsmen on other end.

Make him captain and he'd perform in every match and we will win all our matches (check SS' win record)
 
I really dont think WL or anyone else can defeat BZ even if malik score single digits in the next 40 matches :)
BZ has got very good defense :misbah

Without Misbah ul Haq, that match would be lost. Gul, Malik and Misbah won Pakistan that match.

At Topic- Malik back to his regular self. Sania Mirza probably threatened him with divorce if he didn't perform against India. Sania bhabhi ki India mey izzat hai!

Malik will probably be kicked out of the team for good, by 2013.

and lastly, malik has not played a single ODI since feb ...

But the point we were talking about ODIs and you bring up t20s. That's the point, Umar may be going through a rough patch but he's still doing well in ODIs, with an average of mid 30s in that period.

Malik is not doing well in any format. Even T20, 16 average is pretty rubbish, as is an average of 10.

I find it a little weird even that someone should score at an average of 8 since his comeback. Seems pretty low of someone of his calibre. If he were a debutant he wouldn't have been given that many games to prove himself upon comeback. Surely you admit he was out of form?

Had Malik performed to the level of umar in ODIs he'd still be in the ODI team. Think Malik's more to blame there for not playing ODIs since Feb.

T20s usually a very unpredictable format. Umar will probably bounce back. Still average of 10 (or anything in the 10s) isn't really acceptable. Others have been pretty bad too. Hafeez has been averaging around 15 in T20s in that period too. Also bad.

Isn't it dumb to compare ODIs performances when one player hasn't played a single odi since feb?

Plus, we are in middle of T20I WC and malik beats UA comfortably...even coming so low...
and he also won us few matches..that we can't say about UA.
