I do think Tanveer has, or had before injury, some ability (he was very good in 2007/08) but he strikes me as a one-dimensional, unthinking cricketer. Blindly slogs and can swing the ball but is wayward. A bit more control needed and he could still be a decent allrounder InshaAllah since he's what 27-28. But captaincy, no way on current evidence

was in a matchwinning partnership with Jamal Anwar in the Super 8 semi-final, so why not.

I disagree as a supporter of Rawalpindi. They have always had good talent and importantly a well balanced team, especially lots of fast bowlers, good allrounders and explosive top order batsmen. I thought along with Karachi and maybe Sialkot that Pindi were contenders for the title. If anything Tanvir's strange captaincy hurt them, like repeatedly promoting himself over the far more complete batsman Hammad Azam

Everyone just blindly hates Sohail Tanvir, and cause of the blind hate people don't look at how he lead his domestic team.

The reason why this thread was created was due to the way Sohail Tanvir lead Rawalpindi Rams into winning the t20 tornament and also being runner ups of the next competation.

RawalPindi was considered a medicore team, and no one was expecting it reach the finals. But forget the finals, no one was expecting that team to beat Lahore and Karachi. But they ended up beating them due to good leadershi skills on the captain, who lead from front.

Selectors should start noticing these captaincy skills of players

Sohail Tanvir should be Vice-Captain right now with Misbah. So that he could learn a thing or to....... Future captain

A captain can't be somebody who's own place in the team struggles to be justified. On a side note, Sohail Tanvir would've been the perfect captain for Hong Kong Super Sixes, should've left Junaid Khan, Yasir Shah and Umer Akmal for the proper domestic cricket.

1. He doesnt bowl well except against Sri Lanka

2. He cant bat either, even Saeed Ajmal can bat better than him.

3. He is currently one of the worst - if not the worst fielder in Intl Cricket.

4. Some of his decisions as captain in domestic cricket where his field settings, batting order changes has been awful to say atleast.


Come back when you can justify this and these "great stats" aswell.

Try harder to justify this if you can.
