What's new

South Africa beat Australia by 47 runs in the Tri-Nation Series

I dont rate Finch much but Id trade 10 Shehzads for him. Maybe more. Garbage like Shehzad gets so much attention in Pakistan while Aussies want Finch out of the team. Its sad. Though Pakistanis are now starting to realize his true worth.

The quota system kind of favours the blacks. Rabada is black. How is the quota system not going to let that happen ? O_o

because the side in general isn't going to be strong enough. which is exactly what I said

It's always funny when people form their opinions based on stats and haven't a clue about what's happening on the field. Watch the game, not the stat sheet.
That's some of the worst logic I've ever heard in my life. No ATG averages 30+, no matter how many games you watch.
And anyway you must be watching with your eyes closed because this whole era has been dominated by Steyn.
Pretty large consensus even from most commentators and experts that Steyn is far superior to any bowler of his time. The stats just back that fact up.

If Finch gets a ton here itll be a better innings than all of Shehzads 100s combined. And I bet Finch wont like 500 posts about his ton on Twitter afterwards.

And where have I said otherwise? I would take a prime Harris over Steyn but due to longevity, yes Steyn's been the best bowler of his era.

Just come back from Tarweeh and seen the scorecard. Bit of spin and these Aussie ftb fall like ninepins. Need to improve as they have Asian tours coming up

Those wickets will be flat in ODIs. Yes in Tests they will be in trouble.

Hahaha yeah as Geoff Boycott said. It sure was missing leg. It was hitting middle.

He's saying the team will weaken to such an extent that Rabada will have too much to do.

Don't think the side weakening should affect Rabada's performances tbh. Yeah the side might weaken, ( and Rabada's might have to do the bulk of the wicket-taking ) but that shouldn't stop Rabada from bowling well.

Shehzad has never played a knock this good in his life. Im comparing these 2 because both these guys are supposed to be similar players. Both openers who dont take singles and are supposed to be boundary hitters.

Hahaha shehzad and boundaries. Finch has improved his strike rotation tbh but he's still a FTB

a worse side around you definitely limits the effectiveness of bowlers

Dam imagine India produce the dust bowls like they did against South Africa :)) could be a whitewash for the Aussies

Current Indian batsmen arent that good at playing spin but they will comfortably beat Aussies on dust bowls.

Continuous collapses allow for no rest in-between innings, this takes a toll on your body.

Agreed vijay and pujara are capable of batting long hours. Only smith is for Australia in there current test team

It is obvious to me that while we are nothing amazing, we are the best lineup against spin in the world in Test matches.

Imagine if Australia had played starc and they got south Africa 100-5 like they did today. He would have cleaned up Behardien and co for less than 150. Very costly mistake by Australia

We are very good against spin. Although against seam and swing we will struggle tbh. In 2010 we got England to let use there venues for games against Australia. We was onto something there that could have helped us away from home such a shame that we couldn't carry on playing there

Saffers win keep tournament interesting. Key game on Saturday winner of that you would expect to be in the final. Hopefully quality of pitch is much better

Things will change in final..

SA won't be able to take it when heat is on

Hardly. It's a meaningless tri series three years out from the only ODI competition that matters and he is a thoroughbred coming back from injury.

We did whitewash them last time 4-0,Dhoni made a double hundred in Chennai probably his best test knock.

Well done S.A i stopped watching game when they were 130/6 and thought they wouldnt get 150 and would lose the game but just goes to show if you can bat your 50 overs even if your in a hole with 20 overs to go and into the tail that it always gives your bowlers a chance of something to defend later in the game. This sets up rest of the series up nicely.

Better quit ODI cricket then.

Why? We're the best of it when it matters probably because we're willing to experiment a lot to try and build up a team.

Not a single player in the XI we fielded is over the age of 30.

We'll be very well placed come 2019
