Believe me, Dhoni is a fantastic ODI player. He has a pattern in ODI which does not suit the T20 format. He takes 10-12 deliveries to get going which is fine in ODI but can be disastrous in T20.

Small boundaries, flat pitch, threat of ABD + Duminy + Faf, Dew, Young/inexperienced/innocuous(?) Indian bowling attack means we gotta score as many runs as possible. After such a good start that we have got, anything less than 200 from hereon will be a disappointing end.

Said this when Rohit was going all guns blazing, may be I over-estimated our pathetic bowling attack (calling it attack itself is an insult to the word "attack").
