What's new

South Africa beat India by 7 wickets in 1st T20I

Would be amazing for the Indians and intimidating for the Saffers. Will also make it difficult to hear what your batting partner is saying so I expect at least a couple of run-outs.

True. The WC match against SA this Year was amazing in this regard. 80,000 indians in Melbourne! What a sight that was, especially in a foreign country!

SA bowling without Steyn, Morkel and Philander is not looking that great. No matter how much India end up with, this bowling is seriously thin. No wonder they struggle in the sub continent.

Extra pace from SA bowlers is helping batsman to time the ball well.

Rabada and Lange can bowl short but their trundlers should be sticking to line and length. On pitches like this, batsmen will eat 135k bouncers. It comes nicely on to the bat.

I just hope they don't play him in Tests seeing his form in the T20s/ODIs

They will play him. The 5 bowler theory will be in for a serious threat. Pujara needs to play at number 3 as Vijay and Dhawan are back. So to accommodate Rohit they have to give up the 5 bowler theory.

This is SA's best bowler in limited overs cricket, Duminy :)

India always does well in the first 10, it is the last 10 they struggle. Raina needs to click, otherwise we will struggle to post a good total. Dhoni isn't great in T20.
Ind did well 11 to 20 in most of the t20 internationals.

SACHINIST

It all depends on how these two and Raina bat. There is not much in the batting after these three.

AT Rayudu, AR Patel, R Ashwin, B Kumar, MM Sharma, S Aravind
All of them capable of hitting decently if not big...afterall in a T20 ...a couple of boundaries each might make a big difference

Then we are in trouble. If dhammika Prasad had our top order in shambles, Steyn and co will be dangerous in Tests.

Tuning in now.

Seems like Saffa Bowlers getting a phaintaaaa

Thats true but we have seen in the past that these players have struggled in T20 to up the ante. It has always been Kohli, Raina and Rohit in T20 unless it is IPL offcourse.

No other team in the world can treat leg spinners with such disdain. Not even any subcontinent teams are asas good as india in handling leg spin.
Its like theythey can play leg spin while asleepasleep.

Some good shots so far by Rohit/Kohli...

The ball isn't even turning. It's a flat bouncy pitch.

Now Rabada getting hit. SA already losing the plot. Bowling length

Yes it will be really interesting to see if Kohli holds on to the 5 bowler theory if he had to drop Rohit from the X1. But again, India does not have a good spinning all rounder unless we want to go back to Jaddu. Jadeja did not do will in the A game. So tough decisions for India to make. Stuart Binny will not be useful in Indian conditions in tests. He might bat well but his bowling will be useless.

How good does Sharma look? Seriously, no better batsman in world cricket to just WATCH when on song. Even Virat pales just on looks.

Rohit had a great chance to get to a 100 here. This is going to be a huge score.

It is true Indian are good players of spin...but one should never underestimate a bowler....because they day one does and takes it for granted...thats when they get surprised.

"Hit it, Hit it" - Rabada to Rohit.

Rohit then responded in the typical South Asian gesture with the hand and a lot of shouting. :))

lol rohit trying to be the tough guy against a kid.
Just asnswerring is not tough...what do you want him to do...........keep quiet and meek .....if he does that you will say he cant even answer a kid

Gavasker does not approve of Rabada's sledging. Doesn't think that it sets a good example for kids.

Small boundaries, flat pitch, threat of ABD + Duminy + Faf, Dew, Young/inexperienced/innocuous(?) Indian bowling attack means we gotta score as many runs as possible. After such a good start that we have got, anything less than 200 from hereon will be a disappointing end.

Hope Rohit scores his 1st T20I Century tonight (10 more runs to do that)

I can clearly see some people on PP are not having a good day with India doing well.

What is wrong with that Rabada said? Why are these commies getting riled up? Do they not know that kids in India sledge each other in every single game of street cricket?

SA can win it even if India scores 200.

Aravind/BK and Mohit is a joke bowling unit on these kinds of pitches.

I think South Africa will fold very quickly if Amla and de Villiers do not put up a big partnership at the top.

ITs the fallout from the India SL series, where both teams went OTT. So, they would rather it be quiet than sledging.
