What's new

South Africa beat Pakistan by nine wickets in the second Test to take 2-0 unassailable series lead

Some short pitched stuff from Shaheen, give them a few scares, concede a few boundaries and call it a day.

5 slips and gully? third man up, silly mid on and mid off, short leg and silly point? lol, nothing to lose.

Pak were probably one partnership short of making today a proper contest. That's why it was sooooo annoying when Joel Garner gave Sarfraz out and when Fakher played that shot.

Must not loose by 10 wickets, and now Markram is rested/injured as well.

1 down. 8 to go. Because Markram probably wont bat i guess?

I have been watching pakistan play since CT 2017,, I couldn't believe my eyes on how much Amir has changed !

He comes running fast & screams uahhhh at the crease & bowls at 125kmph ! Unbelievable this is the same guy who bowled 145k + in CT with much ease , how come he drop so much pace in 1.5 years ?

Amir is dishing out his frustration, but this is not the right way. PAK should have tried to make is as tough as possible. I can recall WIN in 1987, they lost a Test in NZ after some of the most biased umpiring in game - NZL needed 32 to win and WIN made it 25/6 .......

Dish out his frustration by bowling fast , not short. Speeds havent been that high.

Saffer batsmen are not getting their timing right. I guess they are playing for 140 kph + balls are too early into their shots. These 126-131 kph balls reach a fraction later and they haven't adjusted methinks.

You can understand that abbas is a medium bowler who bowls line and length but mohammad amir could crank it up to 90 mph , so disappointed to see his speeds.

Amla going off. This must have hurt. Struck his bicep full impact.

Seeing how their quicks bowled against Pakistani tail enders, i dont blame him.

Not blaming him at all. If Saffers create such pitches, they should be willing to take such blows as well. Might as well hurt them as much as possible before 3rd test.

After his pair, FaF is going to be MoTM this time.

It's OK boys, we've got them right where we want them.

Is the wicket really that bad? I watched whole game yesterday and it was a fantastic Test wicket; close to 340 scored for 14 wickets and we even didn’t have 90 overs.

Odd ball leaping up but nothing like the wicket they served India in the 3rd test last year.

Once again really horrible pitch by South African curators. I didn't see the 1st match so can't comment on that but this pitch and the pitch in 3rd test against India are not the kind of pitches you want to play cricket on. I am all for green mambas and matches getting over in less than 3 days but those pitches shouldn't endanger the batsmen playing on them.

Azhar learning the quicker you bowl the quicker it goes off the bat :yk2

Congratulations to South Africa: they’ve made the most of a mediocre batting line-up by employing a good pace attack on bowlers’ wickets.
