Anyone know what S.A ranking points will be if they win 2-0?

I dont think Smith will get a 100 here, but am sure he will be happy with the test win!

All this after conceeding a 180+ lead on 1st inns!

James: "The near-monopoly of Australian rules football over the country's sporting talent is what's behind their decline. You have to spend time here to appreciate how big it has become. It dominates -everything-. The new guard at Cricket Australia has one heck of a fight on its hands to win the interest of youngsters back."

Aussies phir ro rahe hain :))

Mitchell Johnson bowling wides, he doesn't want Smith to get 100 :D

Johnson trying his best to bowl wides so Smith doesn't get his ton

yeahh..

Clarke walking upto Amla

that was unnecessary

What on earth? Why was that unnecessary? He went and congratulated him, true gentleman.

And Smith get's his century. Well played!

In the situation..for example Ponting would never do that

Not that Amla was in his way

Clarke specially ran up from behind all the way to do that in a situation where Aussies are down and out

doing something out of the Sportsman spirit is never unnecessary.

Congrats to S.A

Brilliant test match! Lets hope the 2nd test is just as good!

The OZ will be kicking themselves at losing this Test. There is absolutely no excuse for being bowled out for 47. You cannot claim to be part of the elite group of Test playing nations if you're getting rolled for an innings score that would be subpar in T20. Just lost composure and lost their heads. Japies will be pretty happy at getting away with a win though to be fair they dominated the entire Test bar a session (which was a quarter of a day I think). Great first innings from Pup overshadowed by some pathetic batting from the team in the second innings.

Well played SA! A great victory!

Aussies should retire Ponting now - he's got nothing left to give, I think.

Well that was a disaster for us. Looked like we had turned a corner in SL but then they serve up this rubbish against a team that hasnt played for about a year.

Clarke has implied there will be changes, the media here are ripping the team apart.

Johnson is surely gone, Cummins in for him.

Our one ray of sunshine in Shaun Marsh has hurt his back and might not play the next game. That is always going to be a problem with him.

David Warner will be flown over and may play ahead of Usman because he has been racking up the runs.

Watson needs to go down the order, the opening partnership is not working. Haddin unfortunately will stay. Ponting needs to have a good hard look at himself and ask if he is still up to it. I dont think the selectors have the balls to drop him.

One of the worst losses I have seen for Australian cricket.

The Saffas got their revenge for Durban 1950! (That Test was virtually a mirror image of this one.)

IF no fixing was done in this test match then one of the most entertaining and thrilling test match ever which got finished in 2.5 days. hell of a match but one thing i dont understand is how the hell did SA played so well in 2nd innings??? i mean it was still the same pitch on which AUSSIES crumbled to 47 then how come, SA dominated as i thought AUS will win it with easse on such a pitch??
i dont get it.

Very happy to see AMLA with the 100, poor lad was not getting any runs uptil now. Captaincy is over load for him i think....

Shouldn't this thread be locked by now?
Naaah, waiting for me to say well done Saffers. :)

Happy for the team, especially Biff and Amla for proving people wrong in the end.

Well done Philander to have a debut good bowl in home conditions. He has been doing well provincially past season or two. (I think he was introduced too early too early at international level a few seasons ago. People will shoot for this, but I will say that same happened with Amla. He came back and is a great!). Lets see where Vernon takes this.

I followed the game on the radio when the wickets were falling. Was pretty emotional. Had to keep phoning/texting other friends to tell them the score.

Overall, I do feel a bit for Pup. He had a great bat too. Next game will be interesting.

Time to lock the thread and keep this game in history somewhere.
