What's new

Sri Lanka v Australia | 2nd ODI | Adelaide

That was a beautiful shot. Went to the boundary like a rocket launcher- Ravi Shastri

This match is now win-win for me. If SL wins it would liven up the series , but if OZ wins then I will be a richer man :yk

Why was that out? Nothing was there on hotspot

Who hires these so called elite umpires, decisions like this what causes problems, the third umpire Richard Kettleborough should be fired for such a stupid decision.

No idea, I dunno why snicko isn't used in DRS

From 80 odd for 6 to 170. SL should have done better. Should have kept Aus to under 150. It won't be an easy chase for sure. Still a bit of juice in the wicket.

I think it takes around 20 minutes or so for snicko to generate a result, don't know why but remember one commentator mentioning it in a test in England

Don't think it's 20 mins but yeah apparently it takes a while.

Well we will see how good our bowling depth is in the 2nd innings. Disappointing batting effort but let's see what we can do with the ball.

This should be Tharanga's cricinfo profile pic

Tharanga has also batted in middle order hasn't he and from what I recall he did ok too.

Hopefully that's the end of UT. Can't seem to shake the guy off. Just keeps coming back into the team.

Yeah not too bad in the middle order when the ball is not doing any thing. But we already have too many middle order nudgers and nurdlers. Hopefully Karuna gets a go soon. Looked good in the Tests.

MJ needs to open. He's a genuine match winner at the top. Otherwise he's useless. He seems to go into his shell in the middle and ends up gifting his wicket away most of the time.

These new ODI rules will hurt the spinners I reckon. Two new balls and max 4 fielders outside the circle will make it very tough for the spinners. Part timers who dart the ball in will probably be preferred.

Neither Cutting or Richardson look very impressive to me, Cutting looks a little better but both meh.

Rubbish team deserves to lose this game

Part timers will struggle the most, top class spinners I imagine will have more chance to put batsman under pressure as there won't be as many easy singles on due to extra fielder in ring ie for example someone who isn't reading Ajmal will find it difficult to rotate strike nevermind trying to hit him for boundaries.

Ajmal darts it in most of the time so he should do ok. I'm just saying that part timers will probably be preferred over a specialist spinner because of the extra batting option as well.

You are right in regards to Ajmal who doesn't give it much flight but my point stands as recently seen in the Pak V Ind series, part timers will be a liability and could be taken for plenty for example look at Hafeez even with the new rules he must have been the most economical out of all the bowlers and he deffo doesn't dart the ball.

Hafeez I would say darts it in wicket to wicket a lot of the time especially when the batsmen look to go after him.

Haddin out Hughes takes the gloves. WTH is going on in Aus? Injuries left, right and centre for Aus, SL and SA as well.

Why can't they have Chappell commentating the whole time. Only decent one left now in ch9.

Cannot believe Australia's team/squad selection.

Yes we know players are tired but they don't have the same players they did say 10+ years ago.

Nah I disagree Hafeez does not really dart the bowl at all, he isn't Swann in his flight but he still gives it decent air.

Ajmal is a clever bowler, he may not get many wickets but he'll survive in most conditions and situations.

Both England and Aussies are rotating their bowlers because of back to back ashes but Aussies are over doing a bit it seems.
