Sri Lanka have won the toss and have elected to bat first again :)))
Should be a bit more fun to watch as Sri Lanka will be missing two of their best bowlers.
India will be playing without Ghambir and Yuvraj.

Lost the toss but it should be ok as there is no murali to deal with this time.. Onto the positive Yuvi is out...

I'll be watching later, Eager to see how sri lanka do without their two 'm's. :)

MIthun's got the ball to swing a bit, inswinger as well

Commentator: Ishant Sharma bowling full and fast
Speed gun: 129 km/h

Valerio: "It's like a local 4th grade match. Inexperienced bowler, 2nd balls goes for 4 byes, what next..... Are India really ranked 1 in the world ?" Ouch!

:))) Love cricinfo's commentary.

LOL make that 4 in a row. Even Granpa Jayasuriya would have picked up some form against Teeli here

3.6

Sharma to Dilshan, FOUR, Whack! Shortish and outside off and Dilshan carves it to the point boundary. The ball boy stops the ball and throws it back.

3.5

Sharma to Dilshan, FOUR, Three in a row. Dilshan the rockstar. It was a short-of-length on the middle. yes on the middle. He waited on the back foot and just wristed it through midwicket.

3.4

Sharma to Dilshan, FOUR, fuller, on the middle and leg, Dilshan works this through midwicket. He clips it superbly in fact. Fine timing

3.3

Sharma to Dilshan, FOUR, 138.8 kph, What a fabulicious hit. It was a back-of-length delivery around off. Dilshan leaned forward and just thumped it on the up and between mid-off and extra cover. Awesomeo!

I think this is the same ground where Jay Suriya scored ~340...
good Luck India.

3.6 Sharma to Dilshan, FOUR, 84.6 mph, Whack! Shortish and outside off and Dilshan carves it to the point boundary. The ball boy stops the ball and throws it back.

3.5 Sharma to Dilshan, FOUR, 84.9 mph, Three in a row. Dilshan the rockstar. It was a short-of-length on the middle. yes on the middle. He waited on the back foot and just wristed it through midwicket.

3.4 Sharma to Dilshan, FOUR, 86.0 mph, fuller, on the middle and leg, Dilshan works this through midwicket. He clips it superbly in fact. Fine timing

3.3 Sharma to Dilshan, FOUR, 86.3 mph, What a fabulicious hit. It was a back-of-length delivery around off. Dilshan leaned forward and just thumped it on the up and between mid-off and extra cover. Awesomeo!

:akhtar :akhtar :akhtar

Sachin Sambhaji; "srinath had some pace, venky some swing, agarkar had something in him, but now no hopes from our young quicks. Can we hire some fast bowlers from pakistan/srilanka?" Aag Aag .. pace like fire! Ajitheeeey!
:))):))):))):))):))):)))

8.1
Mithun to Paranavitana, FOUR, Gorgeous cover drive! He leaned well forward and timed it through covers ... Tendulkar with the chase and he pushes the ball back in and says he is not sure whether it was a boundary or not and signals the ump to consider with the third ump. It did hit the ropes. Four it is.

My gawd we are letting the Paranvitrna's looking good here, scarey how much our bowling sucks (To be fair we are playing on a deck Flatter than Madonna's chest before implants but still)...

Still awaiting our bowling messiah after all these years :(

Sharma is getting pummeled out there, Batsmen are playing him risk free.

He needs to calm down and bowl consistently if he wants wickets.

THis thread should be made a sticky, given that inidia and lanka play at least once a week against each other

you can win test matches by scoring 200 runs, but you have no chance if you cant take 20 wkts. luckily we have good bowlers who always give us chance of winning test matches.

Vinod: "in Team hurdle discussion Dhoni would have said " Guys they are saving energy by hitting only one four per over..Lets give them more boundaries and get tired..ha ha." "

Arijit Sen: "This does not look like a top bowling line up at all. Even if Zaheer WAS playing, it doesn't have nearly as much venom as the young Pakistani side who shot the Aussies out for 88. MRF Pace Academy, where art thou?"

Yess :D
Look up to Pakistans bowling line up :)

Siddharth: "We should call it the MRF (Medium) Pace Academy." Dennis Lillee is going to cry when he reads this

:)))

Ojha to Paranavitana, 1 run, leans forward to drive to long-on. Yes yes there is long-on, deep midwicket. What else do you expect in a T20? :)))

We should play a test series against india in SL to sort out our batting problems :p

quote from an indian fan

Sachin Sambhaji; "srinath had some pace, venky some swing, agarkar had something in him, but now no hopes from our young quicks. Can we hire some fast bowlers from pakistan/srilanka?" Aag Aag .. pace like fire! Ajitheeeey!

So tired of India v SL. Same old $hitty story - team batting first racks up massive total on a flat track and the next four days is all about who breaks what batting record.

And those waiting for a genuine speedster from India. Ain't gonna happen because we as a nation are obsessed with batting. Deal with it, to borrow a PPer's pet expression.

It's okay! Your nation needs bowlers , our nation needs batsmen. :p

lol Ishant's 'hostile spell' :)) He's gone for 56 in 10 overs

What a bland Test match. Big contrast to Pak v Aus.

Cricket in the subcontinent just doesnt appeal to me anymore.

Terrible pitches / Oppressive weather - for fans & players / Horrible TV coverage / Worse commentators

Quite drab and always will be ..

Oddly , we'll be seeing Sanga as the no.1 test captain in 4 days !

horrendous pitch, horrendous teams, and horrendous weather.

come on u lankans beat the indians 2 nil or 3 nil, so that 1st team status is taken off there big headed indian fans.
even though its sanga's team with that awful fake accent he has.

Phani has an idea: "Idea to keep test cricket alive: In a situation like this, bowling team can choose one from viewers in the stadium to bowl...it will increase the number of ppl that come to stadiums and of course the bowlers get some rest from thrashing. "

cricinfo commetatory :)))

good that Sanga flayed the rankings.now SL will be no.1 n he'd hv to give PC statements that he doesnt believe in it
