dont get too cocky.still very much in the balance,this partnership is crucial,cant depend too much on Raina n Dhoni.the pitch is such where one wicket brings another.set batsmen need to do the job
 
India require another 112 runs with 6 wickets remaining....Advantage India but 2 quick wkts and India needing 80 u never know whats gonna happen

SL missing Murali in the fourth innings. Just imagine what he would have done if that new fellow Randiv got 4 out of 4 wickets!

Also they need to attack but Sanga is hell bent on defending!

But Credit to Sachin and Laxman for 100+ stand!
 
Laxman going great guns...but Sachin held the innings together....seems like they are gonna win now...India require another 54 runs with 5 wickets remaining

randiv is one of best offie at present... if murali played instead of randiv means i think we ll be even in better position then this;-)
 
Sri Lanka's pathetic and under pressure batting in the second innings is what was the turning point of the match. They were scared of defeat and played defensively in this test match. 425 in the first innings is not enough against a quality batting side like India.

They are overrated at home, at least against other subcontinent teams. Pakistan lost by just 36 runs in first test, thanks to another stupid collaps from winning position. But India's batsmans are alot more mature, i was surprised Raina made debut this series. Thats the way to go, if you are not good enough on ODI arena then you will simply suck in tests majority of times.
 
Despite the help from a Dharmasena, Home track bullies still couldnt win the series :D...
 
Spare a thought for the Dharmasena here, the 3rd umpire would be absolutely shattered. I can see him going into the Sri Lankan dressing room and saying; after everything I did, this is the best you could...

Yes it did Alliya now if we can keep this pretender away from the test side for GOOD then we have become that much more stronger for the future...

yes Yuvi test career is as good as over for me,expect waterboy duties;-)

however i'm not yet convinced about Raina,he takes way too many risks.i'd like to try Pujara or Rohit.they're much calmer

Raina is just a player who can be used to kill Yuvi's test career, however lets be realistic here; he cant play the short ball to save his life and will get found out in Australia, South Africa etc.. Need to get boys like Rohit, Pujara in the side and start getting them ready for the future...
 
MoM should be Laxman,no doubt

MoS should be Sehwag,390 runs n 7 wickets,but i bet they'll give it to Sanga

pujara must be tried soon.... he is naturally talented cricketer... i think he ll have great impact in international cricket soon.. me eagerly waiting for him:(

Sri Lanka should be worried about their bowling attack post Murali.

Ganguly survived Aus and SA & Raina is a much better player of short ball than him . anyways , playing short ball is not that important .Tendulkar gets hit on the head all the time , but hes doing fine isnt he ? Raina needs to have a different approach in tests & form what we have seen in these two tests , he seems quite capable of doing that .Hes perfect for no6 imo.

Rohit and Kohli should be next in line . Havent seen a lot of pujara , so cant comment .
 
1-1.not a bad result at all for us after we had Zak n Sree out n lost all 3 tosses n Bhajji n Gambhir were out for this game too

proves we r deservedly no.1:)

Raina will do well because you dont have pressure to score runs like in ODIs. He can easly deal with short balls in tests.
 
Congrats to India, Great all-round performance both with the bat and the ball.

Now please stop playing Sri Lanka ffs.

I havent seen much of Pujara but I am on his hype bandwagon at the moment. However if he gets 'reasonable' amount of 'chances' and doesnt perform; I will be the first one to point fingers at him like rest of the world (GOD I feel sorry for Umar Akmal)....
 
that is quite unbelievable...VVS once again shows why he's such an awesome player...hugely underrated batsman.

he s performing whenever he is given chance.. eg india A tour of england this year
 
Wow Tendulkar is like untouchable nowdays, and he is not going to play Tri-series, i think he will try to play test cricket for another 3 years or so.

Pujara is really in great form right now. Yesterday he scored 63 of 52 against South African team in emerging players tournament going on in Australia. And I think he scored 140 against some Australian side when India were 90/5. And along with Pujara, Ajinkya rahane is the other batsman to look out for. He is also scoring heavily.

Sri lanka and sangakarra got what they deserved for their negative tactics in the field.

India will be Happy to draw this series with the pop gun bowling attack they had at their disposal.
