The 2016 U.S. Elections Thread

Poor Cracket. Beginning to sound like the loser hillbillies in the states.

Be careful if they decides to come out of their mountains and vote. They stayed behind for Romney, but looks like they may come out to vote for Trump.

"Another traditional Republican advantage may be going by the wayside this year: Donald Trump, falling perilously behind Hillary Clinton in the polls, isn’t getting the standard “likely voter” bump that usually boosts GOP candidates in the closing weeks of the election. "

So Cracket you want dig yourself in even more?

CNN going so anti-Trump propaganda that they're fabricating stories at this point.

Dude there is a reason every intellectual, even good Republicans, all people well settled and employed are against Trump. It is only college kids and some right wing racist nutters who support Trump. People who support him need to get their head checked. And are you seriously comparing that insane guy to Modi?

He is citing Breibart. He is a lost cause.

"intellectual"

Yeah Ok. The only republicans that are against Trump are pro-hawks who won't get to war in Mid-East under Trump.

What's the difference between Trump and Modi? In fact Modi's past prior connections with hindutva should make him more unlikeable than Trump to any liberal.

www.wsj.com/articles/trumps-self-reckoning-1471213081

"If they can’t get Mr. Trump to change his act by Labor Day, the GOP will have no choice but to write off the nominee as hopeless and focus on salvaging the Senate and House and other down-ballot races. As for Mr. Trump, he needs to stop blaming everyone else and decide if he wants to behave like someone who wants to be President—or turn the nomination over to Mike Pence."

"“If the disgusting and corrupt media covered me honestly and didn’t put false meaning into the words I say, I would be beating Hillary by 20%,” Mr. Trump averred on Twitter. "

This whiner as the president? Makes serious question the IQ of his cheerleaders.

I know a few bankers who are supporting Trump. It may be closer than the polls predict.

NYTimes? pfft, what would they know?

Trump has got Putin exactly where he wants him!

KIEV, Ukraine — On a leafy side street off Independence Square in Kiev is an office used for years by Donald J. Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, when he consulted for Ukraine’s ruling political party. His furniture and personal items were still there as recently as May.

And Mr. Manafort’s presence remains elsewhere here in the capital, where government investigators examining secret records have found his name, as well as companies he sought business with, as they try to untangle a corrupt network they say was used to loot Ukrainian assets and influence elections during the administration of Mr. Manafort’s main client, former President Viktor F. Yanukovych.

Handwritten ledgers show $12.7 million in undisclosed cash payments designated for Mr. Manafort from Mr. Yanukovych’s pro-Russian political party from 2007 to 2012, according to Ukraine’s newly formed National Anti-Corruption Bureau. Investigators assert that the disbursements were part of an illegal off-the-books system whose recipients also included election officials.

Here you go about Trump and war in midesat.

http://www.factcheck.org/2016/02/donald-trump-and-the-iraq-war/

"Trump: Oh, I think it probably would have been even more positive. But ultimately, over the next year, two years, 10 years and 20 years, this is just a great thing for the free world."

All said and done, point still remains he now admits Iraq war was a mistake and has so far been the loudest proponent of stopping the war in Syria. While you have to dig into lost radio interviews to find where he maybe "guess so for the war", Hillary voted for it, and later went to to be the chief architect in Libya's destruction. Today Trump is by far the loudest proponent of anti-nation building platform in Mid-East, and has been consistent in stopping the war in Syria. Hillary is a puppet who'll keep enabling the wars, just like Obama.

1) you don't have to be genius to admit at this point invasion of Iraq was mistake or claim moral high ground by admiting now. Well, maybe for you

2) the vote in congress was based on cooked up evidence, wait for it, by a stinking republican. The mid east has been complete basked case (more so than before) since then.

You still haven't made a case why Trump is qualified for the CIC's job.

He has been a double talking fraud all his life, now supported mainly by the most racist lot in the USA, the same ones who cheered on the war in Iraq.

All is fast talking BS is catching up with him now, as indicated by the polls and your bravado has vanished.

Great thing from this he taking the GOP with him. Awsome.

Rudy Guiliani said there were no terrorist attacks on US soil before Obama. Really Rudy ? Have you heard of something called 9/11 or did you conveniently forget about it because it happened under your boss's watch ?

In further Trump news, the disgraced sexual harasser and former Fox head Roger Ailes will now be assisting Trump in the first debate according to the NYT. This was according to four people briefed on the move, who insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter. Two of them said that Ailes's role could extend beyond the debates.

Given the testimony of Jill Harth and Ivana Trump who was Donald's ex-wife, Ailes and Trump sound like two peas in a pod.

Tbf the whole Giuliani story is a biased piece of coverage

He meant that since 9/11 there has been no attack and got his match wrong and said 8 years before Obama. But if you listen to the extended speech he does mention after 9/11. But don't expect liberal media to acknowledge that and expect them to just run away though. (Ofcourse I'm not excusing his terrible deductive skills but context matters because then you aren't any better than the redneck republicans)

He has a point though.

After 9/11 there wasn't a single terror attack in the us or for that Matter any attack influence by a foreign ideology

But I don't understand that logic used by the Republicans who say "Bush kept us safe". They're basically saying "Well if you forget the worst terrorist atrocity since Pearl Harbour that killed nearly 3000 people, caused over 6000 injuries and led to two wars in the Middle East - all the years after were great !"

The Republicans say "well you can't blame Bush for that because it happened just 8 months into his Presidency" - now I wonder if they'd give Obama that same grace period. My guess is no.

Barton Gellman of the WP noted that the infamous Aug 6th memo - "Bin Laden is determined to strike inside the US" was the 36th time the CIA had raised Al-Qaeda with President Bush since he took office. CIA Director George Tenet told the 9/11 Commission "the system was blinking red" in the months before the attacks. Yet every reputable news source has documented the intelligence community's frustrations that the White House didn't take their warnings on Bin Laden seriously. The neocons in the Bush administration believed it was all a diversion from Saddam Hussein !

Now if it had transpired Obama had neglected 36 different warnings about Al-Qaeda, forget impeachment, Limbaugh and Hannity would've called for a public execution.

And this is the party of national security ? The Republicans have no right to talk about Benghazi given these terrible failures to act on intelligence.

Pre 9/11 it was a different world

It's not comparable because sth at this scale was inconceivable

Obama would be criticised because now it's a reality and that threats are not just empty threats so it would be stupid to Ignore

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...8/17/trump-reshuffles-staff-in-his-own-image/

Donald Trump, following weeks of gnawing agitation over his advisers’ attempts to temper his style, moved late Tuesday to overhaul his struggling campaign by rebuffing those efforts and elevating two longtime associates who have encouraged his combative populism.

Manafort, a seasoned operative who joined the campaign in March, will remain in his role, but the advisers described his status internally as diminished due to Trump’s unhappiness and restlessness in recent weeks over his drop in the polls and reports over lagging organization in several key states. He told some friends that he was unsure if he was being given candid assessments of news stories and the campaign’s management.

Lol at you thinking the Iraq was was partisan politics. The fact that Obama-Clinton basically continued the neocon wars in Mid-East should tell you something by now. Trump is qualified enough based simply on his nationalist, anti-war approach. What makes your stance idiotic, is given the alternative, you have one of the leading architects of US war in Libya and Syria, according to Soros funding, Clinton Foundation, emails coming to light, the symbolism of political corruption itself. Keep up the apologism. Though I at least have you give you credit for trying, unlike Markhor who posted smear articles generated by the lib media which were denied by his ex wife. Meanwhile, Bill Clinton has about 6-7 grown women who still accuse him of rape and Hillary of bullying them into submission.

Sure Iraq war wasn't partisan politics. One has to really thick to believe that. But you are a Trump fan.

Clinton foundation emails? post them.

US has been involved in geopolitics regardless who is in power. rEpublicans are teh only one to mess up the country in doing that. You really have to be extra stupid and ignorant to not realize that.

I notice you trotted out the usual breibart-clinton talking points and haven't touched Trump sahib.

Having second thoughts about that nutjob?

Face it. That nut job is going down in flames and and in the process he is going to hand atleast the senate to the dems if not the house also.

Best thing that could happen to US. Sucks for guys like you.

Both parties have pushed wars in mid-east.

What country did the dems wage war on in the mid east and when?

Carter? Bill clinton? obama? That accounts for dem presidents since 1976.

Two mid-eaat wars by two bushes, bo utter mess.enough aid. Yup it is confirmed you are stupid.

Go back where? to where I'm a citizen? That would be the US. Voted Obama into powet twice and will vote clinton in.

You will be on teh outside crying about libya. Typical delhi idiocy with a good measure of NJ gutter

Nope, I never used the term rape and you've misinterpreted what Ivana Trump said.

What Ivana Trump retracted was her description of "rape" in the criminal sense - she didn't retract her story under sworn deposition during the divorce case about Donald Trumps' vicious sexual assault that was revealed in the 1993 book Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump. The 1990 divorce case between the two Trumps was granted on the grounds of Donald’s “cruel and inhuman treatment” of Ivana. Her divorce involved a gag order that keeps her from talking about her marriage to Donald Trump without his permission.

MODS - I've redacted the foul language and graphic details so please don't delete.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...nald-trump-made-feel-violated-during-sex.html

The book, by former Texas Monthly and Newsweek reporter Harry Hurt III, described a harrowing scene. After a painful scalp reduction surgery to remove a bald spot, Donald Trump confronted his then-wife, who had previously used the same plastic surgeon. “Your f-----g doctor has ruined me!” Trump cried. What followed was a “violent assault,” according to Lost Tycoon. Donald held back Ivana’s arms and began to pull out fistfuls of hair from her scalp, as if to mirror the pain he felt from his own operation.

[Further details can be found at the link given above.]

Following the incident, Ivana ran upstairs, hid behind a locked door, and remained there “crying for the rest of night.” When she returned to the master bedroom in the morning, he was there. “As she looks in horror at the ripped-out hair scattered all over the bed, he glares at her and asks with menacing casualness: ‘Does it hurt?’” Hurt writes.

There are two further allegations levelled at Trump. In a 1997 lawsuit. Jill Harth says she and her romantic partner were working with Trump on a business deal, when Donald started making unwelcome sexual advances. In a lawsuit filed against Trump, she says he leered at her inappropriately, groped her on several occasions without her consent, and even attempted rape. In her lawsuit, Harth describes a scene in which Trump took her into one of his children’s bedrooms at his Florida estate Mar-a-Lago, threw her against the wall........... She said in her Guardian interview Trump’s camp has contacted her on several occasions in an attempt to make her change her story and deny it ever happened.

The third case against Trump comes via a recent federal lawsuit filed in June 2016 in the State of New York by “Jane Doe.” In the suit, Doe alleges that Trump raped her back in 1994, when she was just 13 years old. According to legal documents (not the "liberal media" Cracket), Doe says she attended parties with Trump and his friend Jeffrey Epstein - a registered sex offender known in the media as the “billionaire pedophile.” Doe, who was trying to become a model, says it was during these parties that Trump initiated sexual contact with her on several occasions and on one occasion allegedly raped her.

According to the suit, Trump tied her to a bed, exposed himself to her and then raped her in a “savage sexual attack.” Doe says she screamed for him to stop at which point he struck her in the face while screaming “that he would do whatever he wanted.” In a statement filed with the lawsuit, Doe says Trump threatened to ruin her life and her family’s life if she ever told anyone about the incident.

These allegations are no surprise given Trump's history of misogynistic statements towards women. This was one of the worst:

Two years ago, Trump weighed in on the alarming rate of sexual assault and rape in the military - and in doing so, pinned the blame on the presence of women.

“26,000 unreported sexual [assaults] in the military—only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?” he tweeted in 2013.

So to respond by saying Bill Clinton also has allegations levelled against him in a bid to deflect is laughable. Two wrongs don't make a right and I abhor Clinton's womanising over the years for the record.

Regret? LMAO. about what?

http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/18/politics/trump-i-regret-sometimes-saying-wrong-thing/

<"Sometimes, in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don't choose the right words or you say the wrong thing. I have done that. And believe it or not, I regret it. And I do regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain. Too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues," Trump said while reading from prepared remarks during a campaign rally here.>

Earlier

Asked in May whether he regretted denigrating Arizona Sen. John McCain's five-and-a-half years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam last summer -- "I like people that weren't captured," he said -- Trump declined.

"I like not to regret anything," Trump told radio host Don Imus nearly a year later. "You do things and you say things. And what I said, frankly, is what I said. And you know some people like what I said, if you want to know the truth. Many people like what I said. You know after I said that, my poll numbers went up seven points."

Sounds as bright as Rahul gandhi

I slapped a Trump sticker on my Xuv in Delhi. Triggering ultra modernite friends was priceless.

May be you should come over attend a Trump rally.

"It's unbelievably ironic," said Ramesh Anantha, whose parents emigrated from India. He says his son, as a young person of colour appearing at a rally where the Republican presidential nominee touted his support for people of colour, "should have been looked at as a perfect Trump supporter. He should have been somebody they're putting up on stage."

Might be fun seeing your picture after you get thrown out.

Already been to the one Long Island during the primaries. It was amazing. Lot of unity and energy. No racism. Made fun of lefty sjws like yourself who held dump trump posters in a corner rounded up by police. Will do again whenever he comes to NJ/NY.

Trump, who has for months railed against "Morning Joe," tweeted Monday morning:

Some day, when things calm down, I'll tell the real story of @JoeNBC and his very insecure long-time girlfriend, @morningmika. Two clowns!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 22, 2016

The real estate mogul also tweeted he tried to watch the "low-rated" MSNBC morning show, but found it "unwatchable" because of "neurotic" Brzezinski.

Tried watching low-rated @Morning_Joe this morning, unwatchable! @morningmika is off the wall, a neurotic and not very bright mess!

The gift that keeps on giving....

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligence...als-to-center-by-humiliating-ann-coulter.html

In his campaign’s first gesture of outreach to liberal bloggers, Donald Trump humiliated Ann Coulter on Wednesday night. During a town hall with Sean Hannity, the GOP nominee outlined a kinder, gentler plan for keeping 11 million undocumented people in a state of legal purgatory — just as the far-right thinkfluencer was holding the book launch for her new screed, In Trump We Trust:E Pluribus Awesome!

“There’s nothing Trump can do that won’t be forgiven. Except change his immigration policies,” Coulter writes in her suddenly mistitled opus.

As news spread of Trump’s proposal to grant some longtime undocumented U.S. residents the status of second-class non-citizens (as opposed to siccing the “deportation force” on them), the mood at Coulter’s book launch turned dim.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, there’s been a slight change of plan.” pic.twitter.com/SRASORpp7D

Reuters was caught red handed influencing the polls in favor of Clinton not too long ago. We all know AP, Reuters, CNN love their establishment candidate and hate Trump. The Economic Poll, LA Times/USC Dornstrife polls still have The Donald and Crooked in a tie.

Imagine that. She is funding up to $80 million in negative Trump ads. Having the entire state media shill for her night and day, hit Trump with nothing but negative talking heads, painting Trump as the next reincarnation of Adolf Hitler..and yet.. he is within margin of error in beating her. Trump is still waiting while Clinton/MSM are throwing their kitchen sink at Trump, trying to hide Hillary's pay-for-play corruption.

She mentioned Alex Jones in an attack and probably gave more more legitamacy then ever. He ripped Hillary to shreds in response to her attack.

Saw this video, found it super interesting!

That's actually a good video, gave it a like. Though he addresses the dogwhistle politics that GoP plays with Islamic terrorism (much like DNC plays with Racism card), there's no arguments the single biggest cause for rise of terrorism in Mid-East happened because of wars that America unleashed. Something Hillary plans on continuing with full force and something Trump plans on stopping with full force.

On the point of Mexicans running to US - their country is in shambles and the drug carters have too much power. A wall, a more secure border will only hurt the cartels by stopping their drug trade into the U.S.

Otherwise I agree with most of his points. He makes solid points.

Trump's getting himself in trouble with the GOP base on immigration. With the umpteenth reshuffle of his campaign team this month, has come a re-evaluation of his immigration policy. Remember, his claim to political fame (or infamy) was the pledge to send them all back. All 11 million undocumented immigrants using some kind of Eisenhower-like deportation force.

Now he's saying it'd be too difficult to deport people who've been in the US for 15-20 years - basically admitting his original policy was wildly unrealistic and impractical.

"Let me go a step further — they'll pay back-taxes, they have to pay taxes, there's no amnesty as such, there's no amnesty, but we work with them."

So far he's ruling out citizenship - but that's just this evening and we all know Donald's propensity for U-turns. He now seems to be embracing the language of Jeb Bush - who said he'd allow a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants providing they pay back taxes, learn English etc.

Trump has to balance a fine line here. No matter what the left will only criticize him (if he softens he is flip flopping, if he stays with vintage Trump policies then he is Hitler).

Meanwhile, articles Human Ubedin wrote back when she was a journalist surfaced, where she mentions Bill bombed Iraq to provide distraction from his sex scandal. Scums of the highest order.

Anti-Trump Republicans are preparing to launch a broadcast TV ad in a handful of swing-state suburbs urging Donald Trump to quit the presidential race so the party can replace him with a more electable nominee.
The ad, titled "Keep Your Word," features footage of Trump during the Republican primary in which he suggested he'd drop out if he saw his poll numbers decline.

And Hilary's best bet is to have trump portrayed as an anti Muslim , anti abortion , anti Mexican hillbilly who is best friends with Russia

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/mccain-pledges-to-be-check-on-clinton-white-house

It's a strategy straight from the Senate Republicans' 1996 playbook. With his presidential candidate at risk off a historic loss, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is openly running now just to be a check on Hillary Clinton's White House.

In his campaign video, McCain doesn't even mention Trump. All he says is "whether you are satisfied or dissatisfied with your choices for president, this election is an important one."

LMAO.

So no pivot from Trump on the immigration issue, he doubles down on deportations of illegals who've committed felonies and on the wall. No clear answer on what he's going to do about the millions of undocumented immigrants who have not committed any crimes.

Moderates and Latino not happy. The head of Trump's Hispanic Advisory Council resigns.

Maybe its my political outlook but honestly I , for the life of me cannot understand why is it such a big issue that he wants to deport illegals. For eons in Pakistan Ive been calling for the rounding up of Afghans and sending them back home so for me the its the same thing.

I just cannot understand why punishing ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION is such an issue.

Infact Trump is more pro immigration via legal means, than any other candidate in my lifetime

Ofcourse the wall is a stupid idea and in general Trump is a nutcase who changes his tune twice a day but this particular issue...

Personally I've no issue with deporting illegal immigrants who've come to the country and have committed felonies.

However I've also no issue with giving illegal immigrants who've been in the country for 10-20 years a legal pathway to citizenship, as long as they pay back taxes, have learned the language etc. It seemed Trump was pivoting towards this idea in his Sean Hannity interview - which actually was Jeb Bush's plan which Trump mocked in the primaries !

What is a harebrained unrealistic fantasy is proposing to deport 11 million undocumented individuals which Trump infamously pledged last June. A far-right fantasy that would mean tearing apart families and would cost huge amounts of money and resources.

i know ailes works for the trump campaign but it's got nothing to do with trump and the charges are yet unproven.

Looks like it founds its mark.

Charges are yet unproven. LMAO. There are phone recordings bro and head honcho of conservative media got fired in 1 week.

Sure, charges are unproven, and Moon is made of green cheese.

ROFL.

what does this post mean? the charges are still unproven as far as i know.

Yes in a court of law.

Why are u so concerned about an unproven thing anyway when the other campaign has a convicted adulterer on it?

1) Ailes is too chicken to let it get to court. That is why accepted the deal and resigned and made deal to settle out of court.

2) Becos your buddy cracket was on a high horse about it.

3) Adultery is not a crime in the US. I'm surprised that you equate mutually consensual adult doing what they want to to an employer/boss harassing his employess. Are the values in sinahlaa buddhism.

4) Republican alway claim a high moral ground in mater like this. Nice to shove it their supporters face that they are no better

Anyway, I haven't seen you put up trump pompom on in awhile. Polls got you down?

1) any proof on this?

2) on his high horse about what?

3) adultery is not clinton was officially suspended by the courts due to his conduct. lol at the buddhism bit coming from a possible islamist who believes in barbaric laws of the shariah. the only reason u support clinton is that she also supports islamists. we know this because islamists and fathers of terrorists like maten's dad go to cheer her on. most of her values are not compatible at all with islamic values. i actually do support her values except her godawful stance on islamic terror and immigration.

4) what does that even mean?

trump is an idiot and will lose and clinton will go on not even willing to acknowledge the term islamic terror.

1) here you go.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/17/opinions/carlson-ailes-arbitration-cevallos/

First, the defense "removed" the case out of state court. Removal is a defensive maneuver that unilaterally forces a plaintiff's case out of her chosen forum in state court, and up to the federal district court in the same geographic district. Only a small category of cases can be "removed" because federal courts are very limited in the kinds of cases they can hear.

Next, the defense is seeking to move the case from federal court in New Jersey to a different federal venue: federal court in New York
.

If the defense successfully moves the case to federal court in New York, then it's on to stage three: The defense will seek a ruling that the case shouldn't be in court at all.

He wants arbitration. Does it sound like he wants to go to court?

2) about Bill clinton's affairs.

3) Me? an islamist? I'm sure that is of great comfort to many on this board.

4) this is the problem with wet behind the ear kids. Republicans/conservatives have long sold the image they are morally superior to liberals when it comes to family values.

Now it turns out their presidential candidate is a rapist as per court documents and his campaign is being helped by a wanna be rapist.

what are u talking about? none of that is proof? in what world is going into arbitration proof of anything? in this instance the repubs can definitely claim the higher ground.

It is avoiding court and no wanting any evidence to become public that is proff as in the case of Trump' marital rape.

Republican and moral high ground.... you sound like the guy who would have cheered on sinhala only act.

What does that even mean? How did u make a connection between GOP taking the high ground against a self confessed adulterer like Clinton to a discriminatory set of laws from the 50s?

After u explain this I'm gonna ignore u forever. Ive realized u've made mentions of my name in the past by going through my mentions history. And considering u are a random ive never chatted with and the bigoted statements uve made in genral, I don't think I want to be associated with u. But before u go, please make the connection clear between the statements u made.

Don't worry about it, if you haven't gotten it by now, you won't get it, period.

No please make the connection before u go. That is unless u can't make one and tried to make an inflammatory statement for the sake of making one.

I remember visiting the US in the summer of 1994. There was a joke doing the rounds, a year and a half after the 1992 elections. "It was a dark and stormy November night. Bush got reelected."

Little did they know that ten years later in 2004, on a November night, a Bush really would get reelected. But it just struck me how the elections are always right after Halloween. I wonder if this year will be remembered with similar dread years later.

Republicans/conservatives have long sold the image they are morally superior to liberals when it comes to family values.

I find it amazing how "family value conservatives" and the evangelical right are A-OK with someone like Donald Trump who's on court record to have physically assaulted his former wife.

This is an interesting article how secular values are helping democrats, that advantage can only go in one direction.

Religion is not popular among young people. Writer makes the case "Nones" (another name for secular or atheists genres) have helped Obama won in battle ground states, since they vote heavily against Republicans. This trend will keep going up.

I bet you this time many honest Christians will not vote Trump, they will either stay home or will vote Her. There are quite a few of them who are embarrassed by Trump. [emoji42][emoji42][emoji42]

The company apologised and has reportedly paid Ms Carlson $20m to drop her case.

"We regret and apologise for the fact that Gretchen was not treated with the respect and dignity that she and all of our colleagues deserve," said 21st Century Fox, which owns Fox News.

Mr Ailes denied the allegations but resigned after an investigation by 21st Century Fox brought forward similar complaints from other female employees.

Sure anuk, nothing is proven. Thats why Fox news paid $20M and issued an apology. Even though, the suit was against Ailes

Do u understand that a settlement is completely different to an admission of guilt? Anyway I'm done with u. Later.

Sure $20M payout and an apology from Fox News of all corporations with part of the money coming from Ailes is all becos they would have won in court.
