Russian soldiers are dying in greater numbers in Ukraine this month than at any time since the first week of the invasion, according to Ukrainian data.

The Ukrainian data shows 824 Russian soldiers dying per day in February.

The figures were highlighted by the UK's Ministry of Defence. The figures cannot be verified - but the UK says the trends are "likely accurate".

The increase comes as Ukrainian officials say that Russia has launched a "big offensive".

However, the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC), Oleksiy Danilov, also said Russia is experiencing "big problems" with the campaign.

"Our troops are repulsing [the offensive] very strongly," Mr Danilov said. "The offensive they planned is already taking place, gradually, but it's not the offensive they imagined."

Last week, Ukraine's outgoing defence minister, Oleksiy Reznikov, said they were anticipating a new Russian offensive around 24 February - the anniversary of the full-scale invasion.

Some of the fiercest fighting has been around Bakhmut in the east of the country.

On Sunday, the head of Russia's Wagner mercenary force said the group had seized a settlement near the devastated city.

Yevgeny Prigozhin said on Telegram: "Today, the settlement of Krasna Hora was taken by assault detachments of the Wagner PMC."

MOSCOW, Feb 13 (Reuters) - The United States has told its citizens to leave Russia immediately due to the war in Ukraine and the risk of arbitrary arrest or harassment by Russian law enforcement agencies.

"U.S. citizens residing or travelling in Russia should depart immediately," the U.S. embassy in Moscow said. "Exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful detentions."

"Do not travel to Russia," it added.

"Russian security services have arrested U.S. citizens on spurious charges, singled out U.S. citizens in Russia for detention and harassment, denied them fair and transparent treatment, and convicted them in secret trials or without presenting credible evidence," the embassy said.

"Russian authorities arbitrarily enforce local laws against U.S. citizen religious workers and have opened questionable criminal investigations against U.S. citizens engaged in religious activity."

The Kremlin said it was not the first time U.S. citizens had been asked to leave Russia. The last such public warning was in September after President Vladimir Putin ordered a partial mobilisation.

The Federal Security Service(FSB) said in January that prosecutors had opened a criminal case against a United States citizen on suspicion of espionage.

Last December, U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner was released in a prisoner swap, having been sentenced to nine years in a penal colony for possessing vape cartridges containing cannabis oil - which is banned in Russia - after a judicial process labelled a sham by Washington.

Paul Whelan, a former U.S. Marine, is serving a 16-year sentence in a Russian penal colony after being convicted of espionage charges that Washington also says are a sham.

The strategic airlift and refuellers were repaired by ukraine

Most of the motor engine oil is a special oil from kharkiv in our tanks no else produces it.

Even the vt4 pakistan wanted ukranianian engines but opted out but wanted to upgrade the current t80s to oplot standard .
Ukraine became a too risky and costly option .

Ukrainian forces have reportedly blown up a bridge near the eastern city of Bakhmut, in a sign they may be planning to retreat from the area, which would give Russia a significant, symbolic boost ahead of the first anniversary of the war.

Troops blew up the bridge on Monday, according to a local Donetsk region news site. Ukraine denies it intends to leave Bakhmut, despite six months of heavy fighting and reportedly dwindling stockpiles.

It appears the Kremlin is concentrating maximum force on capturing Bakhmut before the one-year anniversary of the invasion on 24 February. Ukraine and its western allies have said over the past week that Russia had already begun a new offensive across the contact line in an attempt to gain ground before new western supplies arrived in the spring.

“It is clear that we are in a race of logistics,” Jens Stoltenberg, head of Nato, told reporters in Brussels on Monday.

Late on Tuesday Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, described the situation on the frontline as “extremely difficult”, especially in Donetsk and Luhansk.

“It is literally a battle for every metre of Ukrainian land,” Zelensky said in his evening address to the nation.

None of that effects the rd93..we have enough spares and components to ensure it stays airworthy as the contract is between China and Russia. The Chinese have assured us of this.

Moving onto the tanks the Ukrainian engines are derivatives of Russian ones and we have significant wxpertise in keeping these maintained. The new tanks all have Chinese engines...so do the t85's and the older tanks. There is no spares shortage.

If we were to go neutral we could easily source what we need from Chinese and other ex Soviet sources..that's the beauty of Russian stuff..you can get the parts..

As for it being Russian junk..well that's a point of view. They seem to be getting better and this war will see a massive upnturn in their defence complex. R n d etc..

It's very easy for keyboard warrriors like you to just blanket say something is junk..its not that simple..

1) It has depleted American military resources. I saw a clip yesterday that showed it might take the Yankees almost a decade to replenish their lost arsenal. They sent too many things to Ukraine.

Russia has sent thousands of troops into Belarus, but the country’s authoritarian leader said Friday there will only be war if “aggression is committed against Belarus” or “our ally Russia.”

Russia set for joint naval drills 'with hypersonic missile' as major security summit begins
Moscow has previously claimed to have carried out tests of its Zircon weapon, including during exercises in the Atlantic last month. A frigate armed with the missile has been deployed to South Africa for joint drills that begin on Friday.

Russia is due to take part in a joint naval exercise with China and South Africa which could see the test launch of a hypersonic cruise missile - as Western leaders assemble for a major security conference.

A high-ranking Russian defence official has died after falling from a window of a building in St Petersburg.
Marina Yankina, a high-ranking Russian defence official who headed the Russian Ministry of Defence's financial support department, is said to have died after falling 16 storeys in St Petersburg, according to The Independent.
The news source reported, citing sources in regional media, that Marina Yankina's body was discovered by a bystander on the pavement of a residential complex in St. Petersburg's Kalininsky area before 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The 58-year-old was a key figure in boosting funding efforts for Putin's war in Ukraine.

She was the finance director of the Western Military District, one of Russia's five geographical battalions, whose commander Mr Putin has changed several times since invading Ukraine last February.

While some of her possessions were discovered in the 16-story building, it is thought that she did not reside there and that it was actually her husband's apartment, according to Metro News.

According to The Independent, the Western Military District confirmed one of its personnel had passed away but would not comment further, directing local media to the authorities in charge of the investigation.

I read yesterday that the tank pledges are drying up and Ukraine won't now be receiving the large numbers they thought they would. I honestly think they thought they could run this war like they did the afghan vs Soviets conflict. But they forget in those days they had the whole of the Muslim world ready to fight and Pakistan providing the conduit and also officers.

I think this war is also shining a light on how inept the modern west is at fighting a war with an enemy that employs their own tactics against them.

I also have to say the Russians really have been exposed in quite a few areas but that is understandable considering they haven't fought a war in years.

USSR wasn’t even in the war at the time - indeed they had made a deal with Hitler regarding Poland.

A USSR standing alone would probably eventually have defeated Nazi Germany, though it would have taken years longer without the British and American bomber fleets destroying every German city, and the armies rampaging across France and over the Rhine into Germany.

But that would have placed Europe under a different totalitarian regime. Stalin murdered more people than Hitler - in the Purges, Gulags and Holodomor. That would have come to the other side of the English Channel had USA and British Empire forces not liberated Western Europe, and trained a wall of guns on the Soviets.
