Had an awesome time in Rotorua with a few mates.

The luge was a high point, we ended up having a race down hill towards the end with the rain pouring down! It was an absolutely sick experience.

I also found out just how crazy one of my mates is. The adrenaline junkie was speeding up during the sharp turns and at one point was driving on 2 wheels! Later on he told me how he grazed his hand on the ground and how he flew through air off one of the ramps

Yesterday, I laughed so hard and that too probably after months time. I thank the moment which brought a smile to this sad face.

Anyways, what happened was, a female friend asked me the translation of a Punjabi phrase which had a pretty vulgar meaning. I did my part, but it resulted in some awesomely awkward silence)! I can imagine the stun silence on her face, and she only replied with an "okay".

Whereas I can´t post the phrase here due to our rules, I can always ask poster ~Red Devil~ to testify how hilarious it was, given he has been told about it.

Yesterday got the news that my eldest nice, Imaan, suffers from extreme eye-sight related issues. Shattered to see my sister cry whole day. God never overlooks the anguish of a mother. Staying hopeful is all that we can do and pray for her alongside it. I felt like an utter failure in being able to say any words of comforts for my sister.

I know what you mean about not finding the right words to console someone. I'm usually okay with words but when the time comes to console someone about some, I just feel at a loss for words because I don't want to say something that might sound insensitive by accident, so I barely say much and let my expression say it for me because the eyes tell the truth. But it's bad if the person talking to you over text or phone call , because since the person cannot see your face, the silence might be taken in a wrong way, like a lack of emotions!

Thanks guys! Lenses, glasses or a surgery are the only treatments. However, a surgery carries risks in her case. She is too young for such a surgery is what we know for now. They have another appointment in February for further findings.

One of the things stated about astigmatism is that it is likely for the person suffering to turn out to be a bit weak at mathematics. This is the last thing parents would want to discover about their child, as every parent has a lot of dreams about his/her child´s future.

She is amazingly clever mind you. When the mother is angry, she knows full well how to get things back on track. She starts saying things like, "I am such an annoying girl: I do not eat, I don´t sleep at proper timings..." etc., just to make her mother feel that she has realised her mistake and should be forgiven.

There is bit of DHONI183/Rawal in her: Whenever I used to fight a certain female friend of mine, I used to say, "Please don´t forgive..... You always forgive and I continue to be the way I am. It´s all your fault!" And this emotional blackmailig always did wonders!

The reports and informations about it in the German language suggest so! Even if it isn´t, and so we hope, a parent is likely to take every such suggestion to heart and think negatively. Again, we will have to see what the further discoveries are in February next year - her next appointment.

Lastly, thank you Kaayal for your concerns and for being so supportive in general. I am fortunate to be given such respect which indeed is given only to one´s brother.

Although I can't remember the time when she passed away (it was around 12 years ago now), I still feel sadness whenever I think of her and her face (have seen her, mainly with a tube through her nose, in family photos), especially when I have a cousin sister who was born on the exact same day.

Can only imagine how close the two would have been.

I just thought of sharing this true story here:

After giving birth to two daughters, a woman was tortured and beaten by her husband because of having given birth to no son yet. She prayed for a son and on a day had this dream.....

A baby boy was being handed over to her and just as she touched the baby, it turned into a dog!

Failing to understand and interpret this dream, she kept praying to God that his wish gets fulfilled. It was heard and she was finally blessed with a son which briefly allowed her peace in life from her husband and her in-laws.

How short-lived was that peace! The best way to describe that boy is that he now in his young age has police cases filed against him, whereas the daughters lead a very righteous life.

I don't blame the woman for having wished for a son given the torture she had to undergo, but this story is a lesson for many of us.

The story aside, it's laughable when you hear cases of these uneducated primitive men abusing their wives for not bearing a son when biologically speaking, it is understood that males are the ones that determine the gender of their offspring.

I feel like this should be taught in middle school.
I also feel that feminism and misogyny must also be taught to kids at younger ages so that they learn to respect women properly. But that can't happen in this patriarchal society, sadly. :/

This goes deeper. I think the biggest or one of the biggest problems is the jealousy that a woman has towards her own son's wife and it's a very common thing in our culture. A mother often has a huge effect on the mentality of her children, sons in particular, and they in cases try to incite bit of hatred for the wife. Husbands often beat up their wives just because they have been told a thing or two by their mother.

This "I demand a male offspring" issue is also often started by the husband's mother.

This system must have been in place since the very first day I would assume, but it is in human nature to complain about the era where we are living - myself included in every sense.

I don´t think we can talk too highly of ages gone by as we all I am sure must have studied at some point in our lives about things such as human sacrifice and cannibalism being practised back then. Not perhaps exclusively related to the "Mine is mine, yours is also mine" theory, but I am talking about the human race and its history in general.

Finally! Polio is eliminated from India.

Thanks to the millions of health workers and volunteers of the Polio eradication programme who made this possible in our 1.2 billion population..

My fourth and the youngest niece turns one. The one who (in my opinion) resembles me the most in looks and appearance. Also, me and Neha both have our names from the Sanskrit language and she a bit like me perhaps has got a very firm and strong voice. I am usually very kind and gentle but can be completely different in anger. But I very rarely get angry or fight with anyone.
