Had an awesome time in Rotorua with a few mates.

The luge was a high point, we ended up having a race down hill towards the end with the rain pouring down! It was an absolutely sick experience.

I also found out just how crazy one of my mates is. The adrenaline junkie was speeding up during the sharp turns and at one point was driving on 2 wheels! Later on he told me how he grazed his hand on the ground and how he flew through air off one of the ramps :))

But hats off to him, he won in the end. I guess slow and steady doesn't always work out :(

Hahaha:)))!

Yesterday, I laughed so hard and that too probably after months time:). I thank the moment which brought a smile to this sad face:).

Anyways, what happened was, a female friend asked me the translation of a Punjabi phrase which had a pretty vulgar meaning. I did my part, but it resulted in some awesomely awkward silence:)))! I can imagine the stun silence on her face, and she only replied with an "okay":asadrauf.

Whereas I can´t post the phrase here due to our rules, I can always ask poster ~Red Devil~ to testify how hilarious it was, given he has been told about it.

Below is an earlier incident with the same girl:

Okay this is funny:

I was supposed to ask a girl which ("kis" in Urdu) film a certain song belongs to, and I ended up typing "kiss". She might have thought I am a pervert, but forgave after I clarified. Sigh!

Yup that was hilarious :))

An awkward moment indeed. I can only imagine what Dhoni bhai must have felt like.

Yesterday got the news that my eldest nice, Imaan, suffers from extreme eye-sight related issues. Shattered to see my sister cry whole day. God never overlooks the anguish of a mother. Staying hopeful is all that we can do and pray for her alongside it. I felt like an utter failure in being able to say any words of comforts for my sister.

Oh that is so sad, feel really bad for your sis!Inshallah your niece will be alright soon!

Thats awful :( I hope its treatable, InshaAllah. Is she very young? :(

I know what you mean about not finding the right words to console someone. I'm usually okay with words but when the time comes to console someone about some, I just feel at a loss for words because I don't want to say something that might sound insensitive by accident, so I barely say much and let my expression say it for me because the eyes tell the truth. But it's bad if the person talking to you over text or phone call , because since the person cannot see your face, the silence might be taken in a wrong way, like a lack of emotions!

Why do alot female drivers use the push & pull technique of handling the steering wheel? I can understand whilst learning to drive as it is a requirement. It takes them that much longer to pull off a manouvre or even turn a corner...it is annoying

Dear sisters, I thank you both for the concerns. Just goes to show how kind-hearted both of you are.

She turned three last month (her name is Imaan). It´s astigmatism what she is suffering from. My sister lives in the same building and I meet her every day. You can basically say that a day is incomplete for any of my siblings if they happen not to meet me. So what I meant was, that seeing how much they the whole family loves me, I am always unable to show my emotions as much in return. But they all know that I love them a lot as well but it´s just that.... my inability to say much to them. I am just an ungrateful soul in many ways......

Outside the family, I am very good at comforting people with my words, somehow. People often only feel like talking only to me if they are in grief or going through any problems.

My 5 year old cousin died today.

He was suffering from thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) that leads to internal bleeding.

Fought it for 6 months, couldn't do it anymore.

Rest in peace little man.

@DHONI183:-It is very sad to hear that about Imaan. Let us hope that she gets better.
May Allah grant her health.

Thanks guys! Lenses, glasses or a surgery are the only treatments. However, a surgery carries risks in her case. She is too young for such a surgery is what we know for now. They have another appointment in February for further findings.

One of the things stated about astigmatism is that it is likely for the person suffering to turn out to be a bit weak at mathematics. This is the last thing parents would want to discover about their child, as every parent has a lot of dreams about his/her child´s future.

She is amazingly clever mind you. When the mother is angry, she knows full well how to get things back on track. She starts saying things like, "I am such an annoying girl: I do not eat, I don´t sleep at proper timings..." etc., just to make her mother feel that she has realised her mistake and should be forgiven.

There is bit of DHONI183/Rawal in her: Whenever I used to fight a certain female friend of mine, I used to say, "Please don´t forgive..... You always forgive and I continue to be the way I am. It´s all your fault!" And this emotional blackmailig always did wonders!

The reports and informations about it in the German language suggest so! Even if it isn´t, and so we hope, a parent is likely to take every such suggestion to heart and think negatively. Again, we will have to see what the further discoveries are in February next year - her next appointment.

Lastly, thank you Kaayal for your concerns and for being so supportive in general. I am fortunate to be given such respect which indeed is given only to one´s brother.

Folks, it´s "Raaval" and not Rawaal"! People who pronounce my name like that despite being able to pronounce "Rawalpindi" and the name of the Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal correctly should seriously hang their heads in shame.

To add further on this, my name rhymes with the Urdu/Punjabi/Hindi word "chaawal" ('rice'). I hope it´s easier now.....

there used to be a guy who used to post here and whose surname was chawla . And yes he was a Pakistani

Let us ask Mamoon to start his 'crush-story' again! ;-):yk

Let me do the honours (an attempt at least):

"(Mahela) Jayawardene isn't playing. His wife has given birth to a baby girl" - Russel Arnold.

"That was an easy delivery..... " - Waqar Younis.

*He said this when they were showing the replay of the previous delivery. However, the timing made it sound very funny.*

Waqar and commentary are not made for each other. It is time that Waqar realises this.

In the first ODI vs SL in Sharjah,Shahid Afridi hit a couple of sixes and Waqar started saying "What a batting..." (he didn't continue after that). That shows a lot about his grammar skills.:danish

His accent and his mispronouncing of words makes him funny.

Here´s Waqar Younis´ tribute to Sachin Tendulkar on his 40th Birthday:

"I remember seeing him in his debut series. Who would have thought a baby would go on to play like this?"

"Of the batsmen I have bowled to, he is at three.... And if not at three, then at least at two or one."

As if three comes before two and one!

I think it's all in the man's ability to spot things that a common cricket follower can't sitting at home. A few examples are I think such as the fact that "MS Dhoni has a beautiful head on his shoulders", or the revelation that "Younis Khan likes to play with a bat", and then the recent observation that "Faf du Plessis has been hit hard by form."

My thoughts go out to you Mamoon bro, for having to see your young cousin endure such a struggle. In fact, I can somewhat understand the plight he and his family must have gone through because I myself have a late sister (named Qirat, which I've just found out comes from an Indian term meaning "sing the glory of God" or an Arabic word meaning "Beautiful Recitation"), who passed away at the young age of only 10 months after a struggle with a type of disease that caused a build-up of acid in her blood, ever since she was born.

Although I can't remember the time when she passed away (it was around 12 years ago now), I still feel sadness whenever I think of her and her face (have seen her, mainly with a tube through her nose, in family photos), especially when I have a cousin sister who was born on the exact same day.

Can only imagine how close the two would have been.

Again, I sympathise with how you are your family must be feeling at this torrid time.

I just thought of sharing this true story here:

After giving birth to two daughters, a woman was tortured and beaten by her husband because of having given birth to no son yet. She prayed for a son and on a day had this dream.....

A baby boy was being handed over to her and just as she touched the baby, it turned into a dog!

Failing to understand and interpret this dream, she kept praying to God that his wish gets fulfilled. It was heard and she was finally blessed with a son which briefly allowed her peace in life from her husband and her in-laws.

How short-lived was that peace! The best way to describe that boy is that he now in his young age has police cases filed against him, whereas the daughters lead a very righteous life.

I don't blame the woman for having wished for a son given the torture she had to undergo, but this story is a lesson for many of us.

shoes of bad quality could cause foot disease due to the sweat. What happens is that water bumps start growing on the bottom of your feet and after popping them it hurts like hell. In urdu we call them challas

This is life I guess and one should always be fully prepared because literally anyone can die any time.

Easier said than done though but at least one can try.

I hope the man is ashamed and finally understands what a class A kutha he was.
The story aside, it's laughable when you hear cases of these uneducated primitive men abusing their wives for not bearing a son when biologically speaking, it is understood that males are the ones that determine the gender of their offspring.

I feel like this should be taught in middle school.
I also feel that feminism and misogyny must also be taught to kids at younger ages so that they learn to respect women properly. But that can't happen in this patriarchal society, sadly. :/

Given that I am not the most educated guy on earth, I pick up most of the stuff from TV or the Internet, and I remember it was in the Pakistani film 'Bol' (2011) where I heard it first that the gender of the child has to do with the father and not the mother.

You make a good point about people being educated on stuff such as the treatment of women. It´s a long term project as the current generations will forever keep dominating the thinking of those who are of the age to attend schools, but a slight change in their thinking will help for the future generations as well. Maybe 60 years or so and we will see the results?

However, the thought alone that your mother too is a woman after all I think should be enough to instill compassion in your heart for them.

Totes agree.
But it doesn't happen sadly. Some males almost worship their mothers but have ZERO respect for their wives.

Pathetic. :/

This goes deeper. I think the biggest or one of the biggest problems is the jealousy that a woman has towards her own son's wife and it's a very common thing in our culture. A mother often has a huge effect on the mentality of her children, sons in particular, and they in cases try to incite bit of hatred for the wife. Husbands often beat up their wives just because they have been told a thing or two by their mother.

This "I demand a male offspring" issue is also often started by the husband's mother.

New World Order,

"Whatever is mine is mine, whatever is yours is also mine".

This system must have been in place since the very first day I would assume, but it is in human nature to complain about the era where we are living - myself included in every sense.

I don´t think we can talk too highly of ages gone by as we all I am sure must have studied at some point in our lives about things such as human sacrifice and cannibalism being practised back then. Not perhaps exclusively related to the "Mine is mine, yours is also mine" theory, but I am talking about the human race and its history in general.

Happy Birthday Neha:135:!

My fourth and the youngest niece turns one. The one who (in my opinion) resembles me the most in looks and appearance. Also, me and Neha both have our names from the Sanskrit language and she a bit like me perhaps has got a very firm and strong voice. I am usually very kind and gentle but can be completely different in anger. But I very rarely get angry or fight with anyone.
