For real. Stakes wise it’s the lowest one but seems the most important due to the build up even tho imo the Punk and Roman feud seems a bit forced.
I don't think Seth and Punk or Roman and Punk still hate each other in real life. They've been in the same company for almost 1.5 months now and it's possible Seth and Punk have patched things up. Roman and Punk, I don't think had much real life animosity to begin with. KO and Punk though, I think may not be on good terms.
I think that's because Roman is still the biggest draw in the company and they just want to fit him at the top. Roman Punk feud would have amazing. Same with Roman Seth. Both were blockbuster feuds.
IMO he should be at the very top alongside Cody. Roman, Cody and Drew are the top three in my opinion and each of them can be the face of the company. A bit like Cena, Randy and Edge.

Exactly. There’s too much going on. They should’ve either a) created more depth between Punk and Roman and intensified their beef like they did with Punk and Drew from the start or b) continued to intensify Roman and Seth’s hatred for each other. Or c) given Seth and Punk a final showdown at WM. It should’ve been a one on one with any of the 3 options
I wasn't referring to their relationship when I said lots of real-life stuff. I was talking about the emotion that Punk was showing. I think alot of that was real. He was genuinely happy to finally get the opportunity to main-event WrestleMania after years of people telling him that he didn't fit the mold of a typical WrestleMania main-eventer.
Drew being in there also wouldn't have made a ton of sense either because Drew and Seth don't really have any beef anymore. Would have been a similar dynamic with two guys not really hating each other that much. Although it definitely would have made more sense than this. I agree with you that Punk v Gunther would have been the best match. Drew v Roman (they were building towards that last year) and Seth could have been booked with anyone you want to get a high work-rate match out of. Aleister Black is returning to WWE soon. You could have booked Seth with him in a similar match to Cody v Seth from WrestleMania 38, where he debuts at WrestleMania.

I hated Jey winning the Rumble if you remember. Cena or Punk were the only logical winners.
I think this was a convenient way for them to book all three in a big match, because they didn't have anything of substance planned for any of these guys this year. Honestly, I would have taken Punk v Roman with a better build but it is what it is I guess.
I was sure Punk was winning, so it was a shocking moment for me too. As for Jey Uso, I feel like he will exposed sooner rather than later, if he hasn't been exposed already. How long are people going to keep chanting 'YEET'? Every fad runs out eventually. He doesn't have the in-ring ability of a Bryan Danielson or Jeff Hardy to keep conjuring that love and adulation from the fans consistently. The only reason he is as over is because of the Bloodline storyline, which he does deserve credit for because he was a key part of that story. But in my opinion, there is no excuse for failing to improve your work. And I don't think he has improved at all in the last few years. His work just feels lazy and phoned-in, and his matches suck. In this day and age, even in WWE you cannot coast by as a main-eventer by being so rubbish in the ring.
roman carried him into having pretty good singles matches between the two. that's the ability of roman i guess.

If they really wanted a catchphrase and someone who gets the crowd going the logical choice should’ve been LA Knight. He was far more over, better in ring presence, and more depth to his character than just chanting a four letter word. but Knight said himself that he heard they weren’t gonna push him because he’s “a bit older” even tho none of the other guys being pushed are exactly young either…
Couldn't agree more. It's criminal how H has booked L.A Knight. When I think back to his first major feud with Bray, it almost felt like he was set up to fail. And yet he kept proving them wrong and kept getting more and more popular. Even now, despite the dogs**t booking, he gets some of the strongest crowd-reactions at live-events and on international tours. And the best they can come up with is a US Championship run that is very hard to care for. You saying this just makes me think of how much infinitely better it would have been if LA Knight was in the same position as Jey Uso, going for the World title against Gunther.
They literally have to nerf Gunther’s presence to make Jey look good. If you have to nerf a strong champion to look weaker than the challenger, then said challenger has no business fighting for the belt.
It isn't even a groundbreaking idea. They did the exact same thing when Gunther was feuding with Priest last year. As far as AEW references are concerned, Cena dropped the biggest AEW reference when he said Cody steals from billionairess's kids lmao. What a great line btw.
On the mic I thought it was fairly obvious that Cena had the upper hand. At the same time you can't just bury your top babyface and World Champion by having the top heel kill him on the mic. For me this was a pretty evenly balanced segment. Cena got the upper hand on the mic but Cody was smart enough to see the cheap shot coming and to leave him laying and come out on top. After what they did to Cody at Elimination Chamber he needed something to establish his credibility too.
Gunther needs to destroy Rikishi and send him to the hospital. Now that would be some serious heat. Infact you could do that after Rikishi slaps him.

That's one of the unfortunate downsides of WWE becoming this giant behemoth. You have someone like him coming in and being booked in a prominent position eventhough he only appeals to kids. As I've said before, it buries the product in a major way. But I guess they've come to a point where they care more about social media metrics then protecting the business.

On that vignette, I wont lie, it’s pretty good isn’t it. When it comes to general presentation, entrances, vignettes and the overall production values of a specific character; H was fantastic in that department and probably had a great deal of input on that front back in the day, just as a recent example he has done a pretty good job with Penta in that area.
But as with H’s ring career and now seen in his booking style, everything is fine until that first bell rings, after that he loses his marbles, part of it is driven by how petty he is and majority of it is his lack of competence between the ropes at the highest level.
I watched NXT from last week and it amazes me what a night and day difference there was between H and Shawn’s booking style, H booked for marks like me and to get himself over, while Shawn is booking his guys & gals to get over with the wider audience. The other thing which came to my head was all the talent which H had at his disposal, he had the benefit of working with wrestlers who were vastly experienced and the women’s roster he had will probably end up in the HOF, Shawn is getting a bunch of nobodies over with no prior wrestling background and if they did then they didn’t have as much hype behind them, the episodes are very cohesive and flow so well and he keeps you on your toes, from week to week he is maximising their time on TV and they work to get over, not have a forced ‘5* match’, just think of this, names like; Fellon Henley, Vasquer, Jaida Parker, Trick Williams & Oba Femi are outdrawing the likes of MJF, Kenny Omega, Daniel Bryan, Moxley and Edge (F Cope).
H couldn’t beat AEW with the Undisputed Era, Gargano/Ciampa, Finn Balor, Matt Riddle, Velveteen Dream, Keith Lee, Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair & special appearances from main roster talent, and this was before AEW stacked their own roster. And that’s with the help H had from Ryan Ward, William Regal and Gabe Sapolsky.

Agree with everything. It really is sad that they treat Gable as comic relief and nothing more when he can easily go down that route of the Wrestling Machine gimmick Angle had in 2006 on Smackdown / ECW and in TNA right after. H is so poor at identifying talent man. Instead he continues to force Jimmy and Jey on everyone and that clown Logan Paul… imagine Chad v AJ. Woulda been epic.

Agreed with Iyo. She is one of the best female wrestlers of all time. She is able to connect with the crowd through her in ring work without having much mic skills(understandable with English not being her primary language)
