I think it's because the teams want to win. In domestic cricket the oldies play like they're Sachin Tendulkar or Viv Richards so it gives a better chance of winning.
 
Sami aslam still exists!! I’ve read that the reason his out of the team, is that mickey conducted a raid on his hotel room, and caught him eating chicken biryani which he was told to avoid as part of his diet plan, don’t know if true.

His commentary is too embarrassing. He tries too hard to talk with lots of unusual English words to show off his vocabulary but don't know nothing about the player.
 
Should rename the tournament Inzamam Nepotism-Bias Cup 2019. 70% of the players in this tournaments don't have any future for LOI.

This man has been the mainstay of commentary in Pakistan for years -and his English is better than MOST people on PP.

He is probably a bar at law from Lincoln or a Cambridge grad. This is what happens with age - old man must be close to 80 now!! He was one of the best commis around in 90s but now probably doesn’t have much clue of the game or players.

He is still doing a very fine job for a domestic tournament. He does not commentate in internationals for almost 4-5 years now.. I actually still like to listen to him...

Iftikhar showing some good form and ability again. Looked much improved player in terms of pressure handling in PSL and was really impressive especially in the death overs. One of the few players we have who can change gears and hit big.

I'll try but it's a lot of work, for little reward, possibly punishment... 50/50 chance of the videos being taken down if I upload to YouTube, and further punitive action. Besides that, have to deal with power outages and poor quality (online) broadcast. :29:
 
Unless Haris Rauf was willing to bowl 5 overs in a row himself, he shouldnt be bowling more than 3-4 in one go with his pace. Glad he got a wicket though.
 
Hussain Talat gone for a duck. Just hasn't kicked on after PSL3.

Saad Ali's SR is on the slow side but given Punjab's batting depth (Sohail Tanvir coming in at 7 !) guess he's no choice.

Haven't been able to watch much due to constant power outages. Looked decent in the bits that I saw and he was looking pretty good before he got run out.
 
Does Sohail Tanveer's 50 reflects his hard work with the bat OR the low standard of bowling in Pakistan Cup?
Because is hardly score 10 runs in international cricket.
 
M Asghar's domestic record - WOW!!! beyond me why he's always discarded. He is only 20 years old I think we need to start working on Zafar Gohar, Asghar and Umer Khan as our specialist spinners.

Umar Akmal is decent but lacks the brain which is required for a no.5 to have but still i'd have him over Asif.

Ifti trying to push hard for the middle order spot for the world cup bowling 7 overs in a row and a 50 while batting.
 
Iftikhar has been pretty good lately with both bat and bowl.
 
Pitches in Pakistan really suit our batsmen's style of play, good pace in the wicket and good outfield as well. Our batsmen struggle to generate pace of the bat on slow UAE wickets.

Glad to see Haris Rauf and Umer Khan amongst the wickets.

Hopefully Umer has a terrific Pakistan Cup...

Who knows maybe he will get selected by Inzi as our surprise package...
 
This shows its all about mental weakness of umar akmal.
Even after 200 matches he is not able to perform on international level whereas in domestic flat pitches and against garbage bowling, he flourish.
 
Lets see how Umar does against KPK - Wahab and Musa should be a real challenge for him.

Not really. Out of his 5 list a matches, 2 have been international centuries. Frankly he doesn't even perform in domestic cricket. This is only his 6th century in over 200 list a matches.

I didn't really like umar akmal that much. But that six was beautiful. What a powerful shot. Need him instead of asif.
 
This is umar akmal's highest list a score. Some improvement in his batting?

He came in the 15th over and played till the end showing he can be a top 4 batsman one of the few match winners in Pakistan he hasn't done it much at 6 but his mentality and lack of calmness means he isn't suited to that role.
The Australia series should've been used to try him as an opener really but it wasn't.
 
You know there's an issue with domestic cricket when Sohail Tanvir is one of the highest scorers
 
Umar is only good for smacking domestic bowlers. He will fail when he has to face decent bowlers.

So, can anyone explain why Kashif Bhatti didn't bowl today for Punjab? Kamran Akmal almost seemed to forget he was playing... Picked up 14 wickets in 5 games in the QEA One-Day Cup at an average of 11 and has a List A bowling average of 24. In domestic cricket, he's been the best performing spinner over the last couple of years.

So why didn't he bowl :ua

:kakmal Even the commentators repeatedly kept pointing out that he hadn't bowled yet... I mean if he was injured or something, they could have let everyone know somehow, but right to the end Chishty uncle was asking where is Kashif Bhatti....

Would be shambolic if he didnt bowl Kashif deliberately so that Umar can score and make a case for WC.
