Pakistan might just be the beneficiaries of this when they start their 3 Test series in one month. Consider these issues:

1. A rookie, Matt Renshaw, has been confirmed as Dave Warner's opening partner.

But what happens to Shaun Marsh when he recovers from his broken finger? He has a good track record against spin and is decent against Pakistan's pace bowling style.

2. Nathan Lyon has survived as off-spinner because the pink ball specialist Steve O'Keefe is injured.

So what happens if Lyon takes wickets under lights at Adelaide? Does he keep O'Keefe out against Pakistan under lights at Brisbane?

3. The pink ball pace bowling specialist Jason Behrendorff was not selected for the Adelaide Day/Night Test.

That presumably means that he won't be selected for the Pink Ball Test at Brisbane 4 weeks later!

4. Australia plays three home ODIs v New Zealand in the week before the First Test with Pakistan.

Will they include Test players like Warner, Smith, Wade and Starc? If so, doesn't this damage their Test preparation?

Australia can play 11 debutantes and Azhar Ali will still manage to lose the series 3-0.

Misbah coming back is our only hope. That, coupled with couple of practices games and time to climatise with the weather and pitch conditions. You cannot go into an important test series with ZERO practice.

On topic with OP:

I don't think there are "pink ball specialists" as you claim. There haven't been enough pink ball matches for anybody to gain "specialization" with the ball.

Okay, I'll reword it! :)

In Australia, there have been around 15 First Class matches played on greentops to protect the fragile ball.

In those games, there have been clear patterns that have emerged:

1. Batting is hardest for the hour before and after sunset.
2. Bowlers who get close to the stumps, bowl a full length and hit the seam do huge damage.
3. Bowlers who pitch short don't take any (or many) wickets at night.

Here's the best of the lot!

Australia has recalled the wicketkeeper Matthew Wade for the Pink Ball Test.

But I've just watched an interview with him.....and he has admitted that he is colour blind and can't see the Pink Ball!

I've watched Chris Rogers try to play the Pink Ball, and he can't.

Please Convict , tell me that Matthew Wade is just winding us up.....
