My point was Gore conceded. He could have continued the fight and filed appeals. The court didnt “select” Bush they just stopped the recount and Gore conceded after that. When The courts in the US start interfering with the political process, the country will go to the dogs. Yeah that decision was controversial but I think they operated within their purview and it’s important to make that distinction.

I think it’s a bit overblown. I just returned from the grocery store and it’s not what some people are making it out to be. Things looked fairly normal .. normal as can be and there were no long lines and people fighting over stuff like toilet paper. I am confident we will be ok. If anything the aftermath of Tuesday might be a slow burn and not the arrival of judgment day all of a sudden. We may feel it a bit as days go by but I have confidence in the American democracy. I am sure better sense will prevail, and the transition of power (if needed) will be peaceful. Just have to tough out the days till the picture becomes clear who the winner is.

I love that area. We were there just a few days ago for a weekend getaway. And when the border is open, Toronto is only a couple of hours away at the most. Lots of desi people and restaurants. Very hustle and bustle place compared to say the rest of upstate NY and other podunk PA cities.
 
When push comes to shove. Trump is a coward. And hopefully he will run with Gail between his legs and bugger off into the sunset

I think he is already angling to be the next conservative media figurehead. He will probably start a trumptv network that will be the next foxnews. He is a businessman and he is seeing now how media is a bigger business than real estate.

In doing so, didn't they effectively kill any chance he had. If I am correct, you cannot file an appeal against SCOTUS decision?
His only recourse would have been to not accept and bring his supporters on the streets which would have caused chaos.

I don’t know if he has the smarts or discipline to start something and succeed. He has business failure. He inherited 450 million limp sum as inheritance plus whatever he used to get before. He is 450 to 1 billion in debt. 7 bankruptcies.

I stand corrected. Yes you are right. But I think there were some other areas under recount as well and Gore decided to just call it quits. It has been a while but I do remember clearly he didn’t want the situation to linger on and wanted to preserve the peaceful transition of power process.

That I hundreds percent agree with. He will probably run something like that into the ground as well except that as a former president, with an existing base, I feel even a monkey will be able to make that a successful operation. He has the base, he has the brand name, he knows how to posture, all that jazz.

I feel if he does something, the deep divisions in the country will continue to deepen even further.

He wanted the recount to go on SCOTUS had the last say so he couldn't do anything more

Do sean hannity, Ingraham will all go to his channel and leave fox? Maybe bill oriely will come back on tv.

It will be interesting right? Trump is so chummy with the murdochs so I don’t know how that will turn out. But I have a feeling whether he wins or loses, after he is done by 2024, we will see him a lot on tv, whether as a Fox special guru or on his own network.. and he will for sure get o Reilly and spicer and all these other goons to come work for him.
 
I hear that buildings and businesses all over the US are getting boarded up in anticipation of riots by the losing side tomorrow.

Is this the USA or a Banana Republic? Trump has caused all this to happen.

Actually its nothing to do with Trump, the left (which govern the cities that are boarding up ) have been destroyed by BLM and Antifa members over the last year know that if Trump wins BLM and Antifa are going on a shopping spree and they know the dems will do nothing to stop it. Cities controlled by the Republicans are not having any problem with the looting and destruction that dem controlled cities are, mainly because they wont let the authorities come in and stop it.

Simple google search will show that demonstrations including the looting happened in republican cities too.

Am I wrong? Please clarify

Election Day ballots... Republicans
Mail in ballots.. Dems.

So we will see the game swinging .. the key is how much time they allow for the mail in ballots to come in if it gets close. My thoughts are the early voting and Election Day ballots should decide it.. if it gets close it will get ugly!

Yup. That’s the trump admin at work. But realistically they should all be in by this weekend. If they were sent late, well that’s on the voter, I guess. Should have been more proactive.
 
PA is the key. I was just talking to someone from PA, and he told me Trump will win 100% in PA. He said you have no idea how many silent voters Trump has. The left media with their constant trump bashing has only made it worse for democrats.

Living in a blue state, I can tell you this is actually quite true. The chaos has been caused mainly by the left protests and dem governors did nothing to stop the violence. Streets of NYC have turned into a complete mess.

I am in PA and I can tell you its going to be neck and neck. Small town and rural PA have tons of trump supporters and they are not really silent. I see them all the time, front yards littered with tRUMP Pence signs.
Bu this changes when you go to major cities like Pittsburg and Philly. There is a lot of population concentrated there and they are overwhelmingly democrat. So it will be interesting how it turns out. I have a feeling PA will be the make or break for this election.

It doesn’t ,its for a different crowd and interests, esp people that love outdoor Dallas area is excellent, every other city seems to be annoying once I got used to the open roads and space of Dallas county.

Not to forget we don’t have to hibernate during winter.

LOL No, it's too soon and too close to call right now. I still see Biden winning overall, nothing surprising happened so far.

Florida thanks to Cubans went to Trump, that was expected.

Arizona, thanks to Mexicans and Asians is flipping to Dems, first time in 25 years or so

Texas, is super close suprisingly. GOP are scared TX will fall in the future.

Virginia is headed for Biden because the NoVA votes come in latter and that's where most of VA lives and is very diverse. So nothing expected. Only Michigan and Wisconsin are a little concerning right now but I see Biden winning both.

The BLM protests gave him a great opportunity to score points with the white voters saying that they will come after them. Defunding the police is not something most people are comfortable with.

Trumps popularity is simply cause he's racist and deep down most people are racist, so he was able to secure his base through his racism. Don't need any colorful analysis rationalizing why white people vote the way they do and give any other reasons :))

The states Biden has won till now dont matter - they are all solid blue states. Its his performance in Battleground states that matter - dont think thats going as expected so far.

Well as Wolf Blitzer and John King keep repeating, early votes which lean heavily democratic and make up the bulk of the votes have yet to be counted in the battleground states.

Reddit is extremely pro-Bernie, during the Dem primaries it always gave the impression that Bernie had a real shot at the nomination but as a Berner I knew that was far fetched, so the wrist slitters on their are of the belief that this close contest would've been avoidable if we went even more left with Bernie instead of a middle conservative like Biden :))

Trump has lost Arizona. That's a huge boost for the Democrats, something the republicans didn't expect and could end up costing them this election

If thats the case Obama could have never won the elections twice. The fact is that a lot of people have problems with the Dems moving much further left politically & socially which has alienated a lot of smalltown or rural working-class America which were once solid Democratic base.

True that. A reason why i would never vote a Democrat in even if i cant personally stand the incumbent. And to top it all, the Democrats in my area are also keen on increasing the property taxes!
