The thread is about bowling speed.To take wickets other skills are essential as well e.g. good yorkers,bouncers,normal and reverse swing etc.Mills is very quick but he will go for runs if his line and length are wrong.

Ali Khan is also quick I believe.

Good speed my husnain bowling 90mph consttianly in the first match of this psl

Good speeds from Hasnain.

Looking lean and mean.

Looks like we got some good pace bowling prospects. Glad to hear Hasnain bowled well and at high speeds... He may still make it as he looks to be improving behind the scenes after his first taste of international cricket.

Naseem and Shaheen are obvious talents and now we have Akif Javed too. Adding Haris Rauf as a T20 specialist gives us a delightful young core of fast bowlers to choose from!

All we need now is a good spinning talent to break out. Imagine a prome Saeed Ajmal in this team!

From reading the broadcast speeds of Pakistani bowlers, the estimated top speeds and averages (minus the slower balls)

Hasnain -> 147 (fastest) 144 (avg)
Musa -> 146 (fastest) 142 (avg)
Akif -> 144 (fastest) 139 (avg)
Sohail -> 142 (fastest) 138 (avg)
Fahim -> 138 (fastest) 136 (avg)
Butt -> 138 (fastest) 134 (avg)

Hasnain looked good but he mostly bowled to Pak batters and we know how limited they are. Musa's first over was exceptional even though four of his delvieries were to Shehzad.

Akif for me is the stand out bowler and has height, swing, and some bounce as well. Maintained his speed till the last over.

Musa bowled 146 already today
Husnain was at 146.7
And akif was at 143
Correct me if I am wrong

You are correct. Now just apply decimal correction so the numbers become whole e.g. 143.8 = 144 etc.

Why are people putting speeds less than 140 ??

Performance comes from passion or emotion. And passion comes from the love for game. Like Kohli. Shoaib Akhtar. Aussie players of 2010s. Modern players are after money and thus dont put much strain on their body. They know they will be selected the next time, as there is no alternative. It's not like they will be dropped or anything, or playing for a spot. So, emotion & passion are out of the window. Players then only do so much to get by

Dilbar.

Dilbar literally takes 8 steps & generates real pace , really impressed by Hasnain looks lean even Faheem bowling quick

Well...I don't think we should care about anything less than 155 personally. Unless we're talking express then 142-148 pace isn't anywhere near as important as the other things that makes fast bowlers great, like actual line length control and swing.

If we could have a 'swing watch' or a 'line and length' thread i think this would be far more beneficial to Pakistan than this crazy obsession we have with pace.

155 lol no one will achieve that in psl

Wahab -> 148
Rauf -> 147
Shaheen -> 146
Dilbar -> 146
Hasan -> 141
Arshad -> 138
Amir -> 136
Rahat -> idk
Shinwari -> idk
Irfan -> idk
Tanvir -> idk
Ilyas -> idk

So we have about 9 bowlers who are around 87 - 90 miles. No one of these is consistently express which is above 150.

Lahore has 4 Pakistani pace bowlers who can clock 90 miles on a good day. Quetta, Peshawar, and Islamabad with 2 bowlers who can do that, while Karachi and Multan have none.

Consistently above 150+ is very rare. Only the fastest bowlers did this. Akhtar, Lee, etc. most recently, Ferguson.

Hasnain and Raul can bowl spells of average 145+ in LO. They are express.

And if he was 5 years younger

you don't follow him much then. he has been consistently bowling over 145ks in t20s. he bowled 152.7 KS in msl and many at 150ks.He bowls those speeds in death overs where he reverses the ball at this pace and it becomes difficult to hit him.He surely gonna bowl the fastest ball of the tournament.He bowled in South Africa he has been bowling fast in previous editions of PSL. he is genuine fast.

shaheen's pace has been impressive of late.He looks real deal now.I would have Shaheen haris wahab amir and hasnain as main Pacers for world t20

hasnain,rauf and wahab also who is genuinely fast and naseem is another one who is gonna be in this category as well.

Anyone seen ilyas bowl? Any good?

Has a good inswinger, bowls mid 130s, is accurate. He is very short, maybe shorter than Musa so he is very skiddy. I don't think he will make it to the Pakistan team, but will be a good domestic bowler.

He gets really good reverse swing though.

Fastest balls till now
Wahab riaz 148.2
Haris rauf 147.3
Mohammad hasnain 146.9
Shaheen afridi 146.5

145 is not express. I would say anything over 150 KPH (consistent) is express. Due to poor quality of cricket in this era, we have no bowler who can consistently bowl over 150 KPH. Gone are the days when we use to see Shoaib and Lee bowl spells over 95 MPH. Even the likes of Flintoff use to fire spells up to mighty express pace.

we just have better quality speed guns and more cricket overall. Players have evolved and can now play multiple formats.

Players of the past bowlers similar to the fast bowlers of today.

Shoaib akhter, Brett lee, waqar younis (before injury) patrick Patterson, michael holding, tyson, these guys were terrifyingly quick
