West Indies beat India by 7 wickets in Mumbai

Congratulations to West Indies. I am so happy that WI won and overrated team India lost this game. I pray to Allah that Indian players reach to their family safely without any incidents.

Indian Fans: where was the so called "sportsmanship" today? Or does it apply to other nations except India?

Pretty sure there will be incidents, Indian fans are known to be sore losers.

Rahane is not adapting to this format period, the blunder of Dhawan sitting out for Rahane should haunt our management for ever but yeah no one will think this because its all about "2 no balls".

Umm buddy if you checked Rahane's interview after the indian innings and if you have played cricket at a decent level you would understand it is not his fault.

1. When Rahane and Kohli were batting they were looking for a target of 165-170, Rahane himself said that and when India reached 190+ according to entire team management they had scored above the target they set for themselves.
2. If you have played cricket yourself at substantial level you would understand every player has different responsibilities. Rahane's role was not to go gung ho on every ball. Rahane's role was just to keep his wicket intact and score at a 120 odd strike rate till 14th over then after that in last 6 over try and hit every ball. Rahane just could not accelerate when he was supposed too, no point blaming him but that is just not his style. He did what was asked off him by the TEAM MANAGEMENT, he did his job don't blame him for no reason, if you don't understand anything about cricket then don't talk. India just does not have a pollard/russel/Maxwell/Old Dhoni/old yuvi who can just come and whack a 30 of 12 balls.

jokes aside.. we were just not good enough.. I honestly believe we did not deserve to get to the sem. We just dont have the quality n firepower for t20s. Our win vs BD was just a fluke. Against OZ it wa Kohli's mastetclas that got us ove the lib. All in all it was a very lucky campaign for us. Thoroughly deserve to be chucked out as WI deserve it more.

This is how you treat the Indian bowling, all out attack. It has more than shades of their 90s team.

I'm not blaming the Rahane the player all i'm saying is this format doesn't suit him no point, trying 165-170 that means Indian think tank is in terrible condition if they ever thought 165-170 was enough here.

Hypocrite. You don't pray for people you hate. And your hatred is more than obvious.

Brother "hate" is a strong word, and I personally do not hate anyone, I may not like a person or team but that does not mean I hate them. TBH, I pray for all human being. It is just a game, not a war. Hatred does not have any place in me.

Even in T20 you can't expect every player to hit at 160+ Strike Rate. He did alright, not every player can be a Kohli or Gayle in T20's. You need accumulators and stabilizers in T20 too, Rahane is pretty decent in the format but he is better suited for LOIs.

In that case, most 'sane' cricket fans on ESPNCRICINFO, percentage wise, are Indians. :). Try verifying it on any article having 500+ comments.

Your definition of "sane" is very different from mine. You are indian after all, and what maybe bias in most people's eyes might not be in yours. Btw, a "sane" poster can also post hateful and arrogant comments as evident by this thread here itself.

Let us agree to disagree... which anyway is the case.

West Indies are turning out to be India's #1 enemy, they beat India in U19, and now this.....
Cancel all WI players IPL contract right now !

Kohli is our accumulator bro and we have centred our game around him ,having two accumulators makes no sense at all.

But then who would you replace him with? Raina, Yuvraj, Dhawan have not been in great form and Pandey would have been a hit or a miss. And if you had left him out of the 15 member squad for any other player after the purple patch he had in one days/IPL wouldn't it have been harsh on him?

Besti oy na :))) :))) Red Devil Adil_94 dashing_man

:))) :))) bangali in my office is beating his chest now :))) some good faces I'm seeing right now :))

Kohli thought he was Tendulker bowling the last over in the 1997 :))) :)))

Would anyday take Dhawan on a flat pitch over Rahane inspite of form. If you notice the difference it was all about sixes in the end Raina or Pandya had to play.I'm sure Yuvi would had smacked atleast a couple but he should be taken out now.

It's all in retrospect though. If you had played Dhawan, Raina and sent Pandya above Rahane then based on the form there was a possibility that India would have been 90/4 and then probably only be able to make 160 odd. Like I said it's all in retrospect now. And tbh the way Raina/yuvi are playing they play the same way these days slow at start trying to accelerate then get out.

We can only assume that right now, first flat pitch we got and we didn't play out ftbs properly is my only regret but Windies have some big power hitters they all did well and credit should be given to them.

India underperformed through out the tournament , were no where close to the Vintage India we saw in Asia cup

Honestly, barring Kohli no one performed. Nehra and Dhoni in bits and pieces may be.

This performance looked like the Indian team of 90s, 10 Buffaloes riding on Tendulkars shoulders .

Unusual to drop the FTB Dawan on a flat track and pick the test match player Rahane.

Still sulking :(

Acha hua aj hi haar gaye, England ke samne hartay tou teen guna laggaan dena parta :lol :)))

Well Done West Indies

What a game

Congratulations for the win

India will be going home now

He just wanted to be a hero and take all the glory, probably thought was a good bowler because he got a fluke wicket.
No...
Dhoni probably did not want to hurt the figures of his other bowlers, match was lost after Jaddus over

Man i fell asleep after the gayle wicket which was the 2nd over.

I never would have thought Pak Indies wouldve brought me this much happiness especially after Paktralias disappointing game

Good luck Pak Indies in the final, i couldnt care who wins now

As an Indian fan from 90's i'm sure all of us have experienced big defeats ,"2003" final comes to mind, in a way i'm a little relieved with no tension for next match unless England wins :p

I was in Trichy then, I remember people lighting fire crackers after the rain. The match was gone from the first ball. Back then 340+ was a target that was untouchable .

Yeah still remember Zaheer bowling the crappiest first over looked over then itself. We got too excited to reach the final then.

They are already at home.

Good job by West Indies. Too much fire power in their team on a flat pitch. India could not handle them.
Oh yes they were at home, they still lost with all that home advantage must be embarrassing

Throughout this tournament it was one man show as far as India was concerned. Take Kohli's scores out of the Indian teams total and they would have probably lost most matches.

Because those were the times when world tournaments were just resorted to WC and Champions trophy. So everyone was pumped when it actually happened. The matches were much more interesting as it was just between nations and there were no IPL. I remember the 2003 WC build up very well. Britiania biscuits had number of runs on their wraper and when you collect 100 runs, you get a chance to play something which can potentially send you to watch the final in South Africa. Ate a lot of Britannia biscuits then.

Now days, players from various countries are hugging, kissing and we have too many global events. Look how many ICC tournaments we had since 2007 ?

2007 WC
2007 T20 WC
2009 T20 WC
2009 Champions triphy
2010 T20 WC
2011 WC
2012 T20 WC
2013 Champions triphy
2014 T20 WC
2015 WC
2016 T20 WC

Pakistanis reaction reminds me 3 Idiots dialogue:

Dost top kar gaya tu dukh kafi say zayada baar gayata hai :Srini

Commiserations Indian fans. I think the befitting teams are meeting in the final.

Ashwin should go back to the nets and practice more deliveries w/o overstepping.

Wow whattay game of cricket. Gotta feel for Kohli tho like the last T20 WC the guy pretty much carried the side with his own bat but yet again not to be. Picking Rahane was a massive blunder I thought not sure why they dropped Dhawan on a flat deck. Rahane only managed to hit a couple of boundaries and as a result even after the Kohli heroics India ended up at least 15-20 runs short imo. Awesome chase from the Windies tho especially after the wobbly start. All in all a great game of cricket and lived up to all the hype.
