Rahane might be winning all tests of Kumble but when comes the occasion Virat trumps him,not his fault but Rahane needs to thrive harder if he has to even come close to Dravid.

really shocking display by the west indies, india 290-4 at home? who would have thought that twenty years ago?? this pitch and their general attitude really doesn't bode well for the game
They just need to get Kohli and will fold for 350.
The way Kohli was playing...it looked like he was playing on another pitch.
So easy and effortless were his shots and run scoring.
The other end was just tuk tuking.
Not exactly, dhawan played at a great pace too.
Indians on the top at the end of 1st day. Dead wicket, during the last 2 sessions, played a big part. 500+ runs on the card at the end of the day tomorrow .... seemingly unbeatable position.

These 'minnows' recently defeated England in a Test.As expected, WI heading towards a loss after day 1. They are minnows in tests, have been for a long time. I said they would lose 3-0 at least and I'm sticking with my prediction.

They r a very good team, especially in their home ground. But sadly they r now playing against a world class test team like India and that's why they r looking so ordinary.
Had the match been played against any other team they would've performed much better![]()

How recently? ABout 14 months ago, that's how recently.

So 14 months is not recent, but India's loss to England at home 44 months ago is recent enough to show that India is not a good enough test side?

pitch is not as easy as you are making it sound.. get your facts rightif ind dony make 500 in the pancake pitch, india should be disappointed. .
When did I say so? Also winning 1 Test against England at home isn't any criteria, Zimboks won their last Test against Pak yet they are still minnows. The last major series win for WI is the one against Ind 14 years ago : http://www.espncricinfo.com/west-indies-v-india-2016/content/story/1037203.html?CMP=chrome

I must say i didn't understand the point of previous post then :/
It's series like this one that win over supporters for a 2-tier system of Test cricket.

The run machine continues... Rooting for a tripple today.
That will be a real deal (if he takes his form to Test Matches). There is not much intensity in Test Matches today, players lack the determination, and if he shows the required determination then he can go on a crazy ride and pile runs after runs, records after records! It will be a deadly one man show, but the important question is can he take Test Matches that seriously?

He does take them seriously.

Lol that Ashwin backfoot on-drive was better than anything Kohli played in this inning.
Ashwin you idiot.
Everyone saw that coming.
Thankfully dropped.
Ashwin losing a bit of concentration and playing deliveries he left so well till now.
Needs to get it back.
Discipline is needed or else he will only be a fancy 30 run stroke maker.
Gabriel really gave him a bit of a working over.
Needs to leave deliveries.
It is the pace of Gabriel, that is forcing Ashwin to do, which he shouldn't. I doubt he will do something like that against holder. This some serious fast bowling from gabriel.
Yes alrounders are made with discipline and determination. India lost quite a few of highly promising players in this regard:
Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Sourav Ganguly, Sunil Joshi, Anil Kumble...
These people all had the potential to become full-fledged alrounders if they concentrated more!
If players lose focus in both departments they don't get selected or get dropped completely. But if they lose focus in one department (when they have potential in both), that is when we lose an alrounder!
Hope Ashwin and Jadeja reassess their value in the team & their potential. They can give such critical depth to this team if they can utilize them fully. Ashwin should really stick like a gum out there!
If Ashwin can develop into a good and dependable no.6 batsman, he is going to become a serious asset for us.
The guy has an immense potential as an all rounder but don't want to destroy his bowling by concentrating too much on his batting too.
Only thing to look forward to is a Kohli 200 or may be even an Ashwin 100...apart from that this WI team is so pathetic....not even looking forward to watch them bat.....Where is the WI flair?
You missed WT20 and U19 WC's this year?![]()
