What's new

West Indies v Pakistan | 2nd Test | Bridgetown, Barbados | Apr 30-May 4, 2017 | Day 2

Babar azam still is the best pakistani batsman out there , obviously he needs to learn a bit how to bat in test cricket.

I don't get all this Babar hating. Anyone can have a bad day. Can't judge him based on one poor showing.

I am his fan since he was 16 and think he has great potential, but needs to start delivering tests.

Test cricket is a different beast. Took Kohli time to get going as well. The worst thing now would be to drop him.

So Pakistan is gonna crumble now??? And people are going to praise the openers innings.. Poor poor from Babar :out
Babar no matter how hood he is in LOIs he is just not suited to tests at this point.. May be he needs to play some FC games as well..

you never come back from fc as an improved player , he is too good a player not to succeed in test cricket. Virat kohli averaged 27 in his first 7 test matches , you need to be patient with babar he will come good or bring back the performer hafeez.

Won't be surprised if inzi drops him for hafeez. He should be given a long run I am sure he will come good soon

It's obvious that Babar likes playing his shots. He's in LOI mode. It'll take him time to adjust his defense and scoring at test level.

He could've easily let that ball go down the leg side but his instinct was to flick it to midwicket like he usually does in LOIs.

Meanwhile lost in all the Shehzad bashing is the amount of no-balls not being called which is costing us free runs, pathetic !!

Classic classic from Pakistan :out Younis..
Now people are gonna praise the openers and Misbah and Sarfaraz is going to save this innings..

I swear we never seem to capitalise on these "solid atarts" - remember Edgbaston when we were 257-2 yet lost our last 8 wickets for 143.

These 2 need to take the deficit down to about 50. Sarfraz and Shafiq have the strokes to get a lead quickly

Like I said and anyone watching with an understanding of test cricket, this was/is a tough pitch and it's only getting worse. The openers did a great job in getting so many overs under their belt.

Whoever comes to the crease has a hard task getting themselves in.

Its a slow pitch with no bounce. Not easy to score. Not easy to get out either. Basically the batsmen have to commit mistakes to get out.

The KING of SPIN departs, many a time the very art which he was so destructive against has the final hurrah. Reminds of me Ricky Hatton being KO'd by a body shot in his final fight, the very punch which was his most instrumental weapon in a glittering career. Poetic, the end is nigh; #ThankYouYounis

Hopefully Misbah will capitalize on any trash that Bishoo serves up.

He obviously likes attacking spin.

There's uneven bounce and searing turn.

Thats 19th duck for Younis Khan and he averages less than 23 in west indies. lol

To be fair that was a hit me delivery that YK failed to hit into the gap.

That 2000 series loss of 1-0 really should have been a 1-0 win for us. That was some serious home umpiring cooking from Doctrove to rob us of a deserved series win.

Those no balls not given could be counted as crucial runs not given on this pitch. Atrocious umpiring

Here we go again, Misbah and Azhar in familiar territory. Gone into their shells for the umpteenth time.

Misbah taking the Windies down one by one

In our current team, Azhar is Pakistan's best test batsmen in pressure situations.

I remember that Trinidad Test when England were bowled out for 46, WI pitches are notorious for uneven bounce.

Need another 60ish or more from Azhar, 150 from the trio of Misbah, Shafiq and Sarfraz and hopefully Shadab can chip in with 30-40. Then 20 from the tail and that takes us up to nearly 430 which would give us a decent lead.

At least the batting is reinforced with Shadab Khan at 8.

only 12 runs in the last 10 overs..must be pretty tough batting out there..:misbah

This is where Azhar frustrates you ... he's been batting for over 2 sessions and gone into a shell now instead of looking rotate strike.

This is very very similar to the 1st test where Misbah/Shafiq blocked for over 15 overs at the end of day 3.

That Holder over to Azhar a few mins ago - the first ball sees steep bounce, the last ball taken on the bounce to the keeper.
