On a serious note, Shehzad needs to convert this into a 100 now ... He's got the temperament for test cricket. Just having a hard time so far in this innings but it'll do him a world of good to make good use of his fortune and score a big 100. Besides, we need him to score to avoid suffering with Shan Masood.
 
Shehzad has looked scratchy whilst Azhar looks a class above. Need to carry on the good work.
 
This is Shehzad's 13th test and he already has 3 130+ scores under his belt as an opener. Some of y'all need to chill. Test format is perfect for him. Best to back him in order to avoid watching Shan. Sami Aslam can return to the team after this series and open with Shezzy while Azhar slides down to 4.

Azhar didn't have 3 130+ scores through 13 tests, majority of which were played in the UAE. Besides this a terrible comp. One's a veteran of 59 tests while the other is restarting his test career and is only 13 tests old.

Yeah like we have a history of our batsmen being beastly outside Asia. Give him time. Azhar struggled for years outside UAE. Finally had a breakthrough last year in Eng and Aus.
 
Shezhad actually middled that right to short leg but the umpire doesn't want to waste everyone's time by reviewing a no-ball so he gave it not out

Why should we give him time when he has absolutely no potential to succeed.
 
Shehzad done getting out to no balls, now he going to do some more damage to the WI by getting rid of their reviews.
 
Windies need to learn, Shezhad is operating on a level above and beyond DRS.

Just save your breath and don't bother appealing, your only chance to is to concentrate on removing Azhar.

he couldn't even dominate the poor Sri Lankans outside UAE. Averages under 23 in SL as well. Just tell you the quality of his batting once he faces little music.
 
Excellent batting by Shehzad looks so calm and composed let's hope he goes on to score a daddy hundred..

Exactly. His fan boys will come up with an excuse to defend with these sort of stats. I said it before and will say it again younis is 1000 times a better batsmen then misbah. Can't belive some people were comparing misbah with younis and yousuf l.
 
50 for the legend in making mark this post he is the next Pakistani captain.. 2-3 years max and he will be leading your team in all formats

another funny fact..Misbah has only one hundred I guess outside UAE in tests. I think everyone knows Misbah's true limitations but it's funny to read his fans claim him to be an ATG.

Misbah is a pretty mediocre batsman across all formats, only put on a pedestal because of his captaincy credentials.
 
This is really substandard cricket from West Indies. Everyone's bowling no balls and when they bowl a legal ball they can't hold on to their catches. Even Zimbabwe wouldn't play this embarrassing cricket.

They are protesting against Wahab Riaz being dropped. Who is the master of no balls and brainless bowling.
 
The amount of BIG No balls Gabriel has bowled so far from over the wicket, if PAK gets a 100+ lead, their lefties will cry against the leggi pair bowling round the wicket.

Time to make hay and make it a really punishing session for the WI.

Go back and see how badly Azhar struggled. Heck Azhar wasn't even close to what Shehzad is right now through 13 tests. He played 8-9 tests in UAE out of his 1st 13 and didn't have a 100 until his 15th test against SL. Shehzad has 3 tons through 13 matches. So yeah, patience is needed just like management has shown with Azhar.

Infact our selection policy in test team is proof positive for giving a proper chance to prospects especially in batting. Azhar has started to pay dividends due to that.

Shafiq hasn't kicked on but the point remains.
 
WI need to fire their bowling coach. it's embarrassing to see all of their main bowlers bowling every 3rd delivery a no ball.

It's mostly due to his struggles in LOIs that he gets ridiculed ... But for test format, he's got some serious potential. This is his best format IMO. He has the temperament to score big once set. If he improves his strike rotation, he'll improve in LOIs as well.

they are missing so many no balls.
& check only if theirs a wicket

Azhar was always a capable player, the same cannot be said about Shehzad.

Shehzad is weak against bounce- case in point his struggle against Holder.

Shehzad is weak against lateral movement- well accepted fact.

Shehzad is a limited player, anything out of his zone and he looks like a tailender.

Shehzad is what we call the product of a bowling machine- strong when the ball is pitched in your zone and very, very weak when it isn't.
 
they just showed the list of lowest run rates in test cricket of last 10 years, and we have 2nd lowest run rate after Zimbabwe.

Bad luck for Sami - 2 no balls & a drop will keep Ahmed in starting XI till SRL & he is good enough to cash on that series.
 
I really feel bad for the Windies fans

They always show up to the games. And they are all old so probably saw the great West Indies teams and come to watch for nostalgia

And they are served this rubbish!

No youngsters in the crowds if you notice

Why would one invest in Shezad over Sami Aslam? - Sami has much better technique and temperament for an opener. He is even younger than Shezad, There is no comparison. Sami had played far better bowlers in better conditions much better than him, infact Sami was the main reason we end up drawing the test series against ENG last summer, he also almost drew the second test against NZ on a very green wicket. I don't see any rational of leaving him out.

Capable? Azhar didn't have a 100 outside UAE/SL until last year in England. He still doesn't have a 100 in NZ despite 2 tours there. Shehzad in his only tour there has a 100 in ODIs. Shehzad has another ODI 100 in SA which was a match winning effort.

Azhar was extremely limited when he started. His SRs consistently hovered in 30s. This is why his conversion rate was ABYSMAL for the first 3 years or so of his career. Infact Azhar only had 4 100s in his first 3 years of playing test cricket, majority of which was in the UAE/SL. FOUR.

Shehzad has a 131 vs Aus and 176 vs NZ, 148 vs SL. I don't care if it was in the UAE. It still takes skill to score those runs. And since majority of our cricket is played in the UAE, he'll be just fine.

You're pretty much clutching at straws here.

Shehzad has toured NZ twice

The hundreds he had against Australi and NZ in UAE were innings where Pakistan scored 500+ and 600+ runs

Any dud with a bat scored in those innings

Shehzad averages 25 in SL and was saved by being dropped for eng and Aus tours ther wise his test record would be as pathetic as his one day record

Shehzad is a failure. In two world cups he averages a MIGHTY 12 against top 10 teams
