Airborne

As Britain is battered by a storm, one last plane takes off. Shortly after, the handful of passengers start disappearing one by one; those that remain frantically try to discover who - or what - is behind it before they share the same fate.

6 / 10

wolf of wall street didn't like it as much as some of the fellows here but will give it 6.5/10

i thought 1st one was good- maybe i was too young 12, i understood all the jokes if i can remember, just didnt make me laugh out right.

but west is west - i prefer the more story films which capture emotions like this, and did find om puri very very good

I'll probably tend to agree, particularly because I prefer films which have an emotional storyline (and this was genuinely intriguing and one which has rarely been undertaken before). Om Puri's acting was brilliant too; I felt somewhat sympathetic for the tough situation he had become unstuck within (he played the mindset of a conflicted, torn character magnificently), especially when I think that events such as this may actually occur in real life.

However, the last time I saw East is East (it must've also been when I was aged around 13/14 years old) it was hilarious - not one to watch with any family around though, because of some of the comedy content.

Rush- Way better than i expected. Both the actors representing niki lauda and james hunt are spot on. Great movie, no slow/boring parts at all. 9/10

12 years a Slave- Been a long time since ive seen a film this good, great acting by Chiwetel Ejiofor. -9/10

Hunger Games Catching Fire- Was enjoyable, liked the first half of the movie better. - 7/10

^^ First part was good and second part was okay. It's about a death game. You have to kill others in order to stay in the game.

First Blood

Can never get enough if this. There is something about 80's action flicks. Some real gems.

The awakening

In 1921, England is overwhelmed by the loss and grief of World War I. Hoax exposer Florence Cathcart visits a boarding school to explain sightings of a child ghost. Everything she believes unravels as the 'missing' begin to show themselves.

6.5 / 10

watched hunger games 2, average film, nothing really to say about this other than average, 1st one was better.

watched iceman - good film, but it needed more ray liotta, but michael shannon was very good as the main actor

anyone watched senna, had this for like 2 yrs but not watched it, im a massive f1 fan - how good was it - ?/10

Has anybody watched HER ?

I have. It's a very quirky and interesting film with a superb performance by Phoenix and Johansson. It's surprising and unique, funny and poignant. But the 2nd half keeps dragging a bit. Still worth watching once for it's original concept.

Sleep Tight (2011

Spanish Drama / Thriller. It was different and good story. Loved it.

7/10

Man on the ledge

As a police psychologist works to talk down an ex-con who is threatening to jump from a Manhattan hotel rooftop, the biggest diamond heist ever committed is in motion.

Interesting movie. New concept.

7 / 10

Deadly Blessing

:asif. Watched the same yesterday night.

Eventhough its a different concept, didn't find it interesting as we'll get to know whats coming next after 25-30 min of the movie.
I'll give it 5.5/10

Cell 211

Beast film which deals with a lot of social issues linked to jails and terrorism. I especially like the transformation the main character undergoes. Malamadre was too much of a good guy for my taste but that ending :o

Cloud Atlas

I missed this super Wachowskis film at the pictures, but saw it on telly last night.

It's about slavery and abolitionism, and how a single kind act can resonate across centuries. There were six different stories - one in slavery-era USA, one in between-the-wars England, one in seventies USA, one in 2012 England, one in Seoul 130 years in our future, and one in about 2400 CE, after nuclear war.

Six actors played several parts each - I particularly liked Tom Hanks' Irish gangster and Hugo Weaving's female English nurse, and Hugh Grant was unrecognisable in five of his six different roles.

I thought it was about the rippling thoughts, memories and actions of each individuals from 6 different generations .

Also I found Halle Berry's Blond costume the most unrecognizable one.

Watched some awful Salman Khan film whose name I cannot even remember.

It was one of the worst films I have ever watched. Couldn't wait for it to end 2/10.

Lone Survivor 8/10
US Marines flew into a Afghan village to catch a Taliban warlord, the mission goes wrong - and what follows is 1 hour of classic gun fight between taliban and the marines
based upon a true story

Black Swan- second time. A dark & at times creepy movie. Natalie Portman gives a intense performance. 9/10

The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

An intriguing movie to say the least. One of the better horror movies I have watched, with an interesting plot where the court is presented with a case where a priest is accused of negligence, & causing death of a young girl who dies of demonic possession.

Nice movie !!!

I also liked this one.

'Bullet Raja' (2013)

I felt it was quite a good film. Watching it with low expectation probably helped I guess. There were two big weaknesses that I noticed, which were that.....

1. The enmity between the two guys and that businessman wasn´t this serious one that it should haven led to such serious consequences.

2. They showed on many occasions that the two guys claim that they are supported and liked by the public, but not only did they not show it in the film, they didn´t show any reason at all as to why the public would support them.

I would still give it 6.8 out of 10.

This was probably the third film in my life that I liked of Saif Ali Khan. As for my rating, as I have stated earlier in this thread, it´s too easy to entertain me. I am a little too generous perhaps.

I have been watching a lot of horror movies and am slowly becoming leatherface 2.0.

I have to say that the French make some visceral and gut wrenching horror movies. Both Inside and Shaitan are very disturbing.

I find all Bollywood movies disturbing

Bollywood Horror is kinda alright and generally the movies were not so bad in the 90's there was more focus on plot and the development of characters you had the music as well which is their signature, post 2000's its all about the choreography, singing and lame comedy now. Nothing else.

Europeans make good visceral horror. Even Rec from Spain is a brilliant little chiller. Ils (similar to The Strangers), Martyrs are other good French horror films.

Scent of a woman, one of the best I've seen, brings back a lot of memories from the 90's. An unforgettable performance from Pacino.

Yes, Martyrs was great too. Also the orphanage and pan's labyrinth from spain.

The Butler

Good overall, could have been better. The debate on whether the house negros did more to promote civil rights in America as compared to field negros is an interesting one. As mentioned in the movie what Martin Luther King said about the domestic negros, it's apparent that there contribution could not be easily dismissed. Ultimately I think the movie tried to show both sides though antagonizing each other and finding faults in others approach worked on two fronts and finally made it possible to achieve huge advancement in civil rights and equality of citizenship. It's still quite chilling to remember that only a few years ago, blacks and whites were not even able to sit together let alone study at the same institutions. Till Reagan times, black butlers in the White House were not even getting paid or being promoted the same as the whites. And now we have a black President, the reversal of roles is mind blowing if you think about it.

12 Years of Slave 9.5/10

Probably the most accurate film made based on slavery in America. The movie will definitely make a lot folks very uncomfortable. A MUST watch.

I do not like saif that Much.

Pretty Woman story of a businessman who spends a week with a hooker and falls in love with her it was an ok movie 6/10

Rush was awesome. You don't have to be a nascar fan to enjoy this movie.

Prisoners was also a good movie.

The acting in both these movies was top class.

Recommend both of these movies.

Also I found Halle Berry's Blond costume the most unrecognizable one.

Could be. I'll have to watch it again to get all the nuances. And I didn't recognise Halle in several of her roles either.

Hypercube

Eight strangers awaken with no memory and find themselves in a puzzling cube shaped room where the laws of physics do not always apply.

Sequel to " Cube "

7 / 10

Watched the entire Omen series. Must say it plays with your mind like anything.

After watching Mrs. Baylock, I guess m gonna fire my son's nanny soon :moyo

Watched Ed wood again. Easily Depps best performance. Amazing.

This sounds very interesting.

RoboCop (2014)

I went into this movie with very little expectations. It will no way replace Verhoeven's classic and is one of my all time fav.

But, I tell you what..it is a pretty darned good effort. A surprisingly good remake/reboot. The acting throughout was solid, a tight script that contains well executed action scenes. I like how it explores the more human side of Murphy- and does so with more depth than the original. Kinnamen does a great job once he is suited up- the early pictures of Kinneman deceived- with added robotic sound effects & movements, Robo looks the business. As for the rest of the cast- what can I say. Gary Oldman as expected was excellent as was Michael Keaton. Samuel L Jackson is Samuel L Jackson.

Jose Padhilia is a director who respects the original. He has brought RoboCop into 2014 & is relevant with today's world affairs. There are homages to the original throughout. Don't be put off by it's 12A rating- there are a couple of body-shock scenes. Sorry for the long review guys but I think some of the reviews are slating it unfairly.

7.5/10
