Guys , whenever you watch movie just write a brief note about that also. It helps others know what kind of movie is that . :)

Memories of Murder
7.5/10

A very good crime thriller from Korea with obvious parallels to the Zodiac killer case. Surprisingly funny first half but suspenseful, gritty and disturbing as well. A punchy conclusion although it leaves things maddeningly unresolved as it happened in real life.

I have started watching House of cards, the season. Looks good to me.

I am not a season fan but i had to because of two individuals namely Kevin Spacey and David Fincher.

Captain Phillips. Very strong and tense filmmaking, both culturally astute and politically relevant, backed up by an extremely convincing Tom Hanks and a genuinely Oscar-worthy turn from the newcomer Abdi.

Certainly one of the best water-based films to be made.

Watched Mother - a korean movie

Very interesting movie with complex characters.
A mother lives quietly with her twenty-eight-year-old son, Do-joon, providing herbs and acupuncture to neighbors. One day, a girl is brutally murdered, and Do-joon is charged with the killing. Now, it's his mother's call whether to prove him innocent or to leave him imprisoned.

Another interesting movie Lumumba
True story about Belgium's colony Congo and its politics
The true story of the rise to power and brutal assassination of the formerly vilified and later redeemed leader of the independent Congo, Patrice Lumumba.

Tom Hanks has won two Oscars yet he is still underrated by some. Guy is a really good actor. He literally carried this movie (which is quite long and tedious if you think about it, how the last 3rd of the movie is inside a small rescue boat) on his shoulders. That scene where he finally gets rescued and is taken to the sick bay and is being examined by a nurse, when he just couldn't talk or make any gestures, simply nodding and panting, tears spontaneously rolling out of his eyes, when he is getting to the realization that his ordeal is finally over and he is alive. That one scene, that one minute of acting, is so powerful and moving, so heart trenching and emotional, it's probably the best minute of cinema I've seen in a long time. Just for that I would have given him another Oscar. Brilliant direction too.

Hold Your Breath

A group of friends on a weekend camping trip find themselves being picked off one by one when one member of the group refuses to abide by the urban myth that you can breathe in evil spirits when passing cemeteries.

5.5 / 10

We loved that part too. So emotionally raw.

It was mainly improvised too. Found that out yesterday. Amazing.

Yeap, the final scene with Hanks in Captain Phillips made that movie. Insane levels of skill.

Also, watched Carrie. What a disaster.

Also watched The Counselor. Was meh. Cameron Diaz was smoking though.

Robocop - 7.5/10
Its a Gary Oldman show. He carried the entire movie. The guy playing robocop has a personality of a carrot when he is not a robocop but his voice and the chin area (exposed when wearing the suit) fit the Alex Murphy character really well.

Pompeii - 5.5/10
Taking John Snow from Game of Thrones and putting him in a film doesn't make it any good. Visuals and the cinematography was really good but that's about it. Story was very predictable. Plus points - John Snow and Keifer Sutherland.

RoboCop, 6.5/10. Thanks to the guy who said i should watch it, not a bad movie at all. The thing with reboots is you should try and avoid comparing the modern version to the classic, each movie should be judged individually and this movie was great. I liked how they never let the action overshadow the plot which revolved around the origin of the robocop of character. Gary Oldham was superb.

The movie was written off before it was released. Jose Padhila has done a good job.

definently, am very harsh when i critique movies but am glad to say that i was very satisfied with Padhila's effort. I can see why people had written it off especially going by the history of some reboots which have ended up as big failures

Guys is it worth watching the lego movie in the cinema or should i wait for the DVD release :butt

Am tempted by the universal critical acclaim but something always stops me from watching it

7/10

A good tribute to 70s-80s style horror films like Amityville Horror, The Exorcist, etc. Even shot and feels like a horror film of that era. A bit slow but tense, gripping and has some good shocks.

Drive , ryan gosling good movie great part wvwn though he has very few lines in the movie. Also watched Gravity 3D visually stunning but a little far fetched

Sheena- The Queen of Jungle

Sheena's white parents are killed while on Safari. She is raised by the mystical witch woman of an African tribe. Different kind of movie the animals part was good

Lego movie is the best film since Pacific Rim.

Everyone watch it.

haha I think I watched that on TV once as a kid, she's a blonde right? And there's a scene where a guy is buried in the ground with just his head sticking out of the ground?

That's literally all I can remember about the movie I'm thinking of.

Spot on the role is played by Tanya Roberts who also acted in a Bod movie later on

Insidious

A family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further.

A good movie , with pretty solid script.

7 / 10

^^

Maybe , But that is not my genre .

No such thing as not my genre. No such thing as kids movies. No such thing as boys movies or girls movies.

There are good movies and bad movies.

Lego Movie is awesome and the manner in which you are trying to dismiss it makes you look dumb.

EVERYBODY WATCH IT.

I'm going to take my nephews and nieces to the cinema so I have an excuse to watch it again.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Movie is about a greek family, greek girl is nearing 30 and is still unmarried and falls in love with a non-greek guy and all that stuff i think it was an ok movie

Couldn't find the under rated actors thread so this is where I'm putting this.

James macavoy is an amazing actor.

The book Thief- On the train to her foster parents in Germany, Liesel Meminger's little brother passes away. This is set during World War II, and thus when a stranger by the name of Max arrives everything changes, because he is a Jew and they decide to shelter him in their basement.

Geoffery Rush is brilliant as usual. Give it 8/10
.

Non-Stop starring Liam Neeson.

Not a bad film. Keeps the viewer guessing who the villain is.

6.5/10

I love his angry face when he clenches his jaw and looks over the offender's shoulder. It says ''There is a tempest brewing in me, I control it because I am awesome but beware''.

Lol an apt description.

Do not get emotional over a movie. There are more important things in life. You are making it sound as if If someone has not seen that Movie he should be punished :)

We all have choices , likes and dislikes. Some like burgers , some Pizzas , some muffins , you cannot say , that there is ONLY good food and Bad food.

I am not trying to dismiss any movie , its a personal choice. If I say I like apple does not mean I hate oranges.

No, I'm saying that someone dismissing the movie out of hand because "I don't watch kids movies" is a fool.

No, it's like telling Gordon Ramsay you're not going to eat this pasta dish he just prepared because you had a Pot Noodle once and therefore "I don't like pasta, it's a cheap and nasty food".

It's that bad? Would you not recommend it? My girlfriends very eager to watch it this weekend

It's time pass. There's no real story line, so not really that gripping. It's juss shows a particular stage of a relationship. I personally got really bored during the movie.

Watched the Hindi movie with Highway. Good movie with different story.

The hero is a village hindu gujjar and they have really potrayed the Haryana gujjar culture and language in a real way.

8/10

One of the best horror movies ever made. Weird, disturbing, extremely gory but surprisingly intelligent with a very resourceful final girl who actually does something rather than be a damsel. It is one of the closest representations of Lovecraftian horror on screen. Clive Barker is a true horror legend and I would check more of his work out.

The story basically consists of an unfaithful wife who encounters the zombie of her dead lover, who is being chased by demons after he escaped from their sado-masochistic Hell.

If this description from IMDB won't make you watch the movie, I don't know what will!

I think you like supernatural and Thrillers movies , me too :)

This one looks really interesting.

Watched a few over the last few days.

Mac and Devin go to high school. 7/10 but you need to be high to really enjoy it.

High school. 7/10. Need to be high.

Our idiot brother. 6/10

Kill your darlings(English). 7/10

New world(Korean). 9/10. A lot like 'The Departed'/'Infernal Affairs' but much better than Infernal affairs and marginally better than Departed too.

Memories of murder(Korean). 9/10

A bittersweet life(Korean). 7/10

A dirty carnival(Korean). 7/10

Rang de Basanti(Indian). 7/10. Would have been 8.5-9 had it not been for the ridiculously over the top overacting from all the male characters
trying to act cool/chilled out or whatever.

Korean movies with sub titles ?

Not asking me but for what it's worth:

1.The exorcist
2. Ring
3. Exorcism of Emily Rose and Naruta : the curse
4. Paranormal 1
5. Event Horizon (scared the crap out of me as a child)

How do you rate exorcist as a movie ? ( the original one )

7.5/10
It works much better as a drama and a mother's struggle to save her kid from being destroyed alongside a priest struggling with crisis of faith. The signature scenes are impactful but aren't as chilling as they were before. And I watched it alone at night.

Can you make a list of 10 best Horror movies you have seen ( pure horror stuff )

1. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
2. Black Christmas (1973)
3. The Thing (1982)
4. Rec (2009)
5. Suspiria (1977)
6. Paranormal Activity (2009)
7. Trick r' Treat (2007)
8. Evil Dead II (1987)
9. 1408 (2007)
10. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
