Yeah watched that over the weekend too. Was expecting something pretty lame, but was a good watch.

Jamie Fox was certainly the best.

Also saw Final Destination 5 in 3D in an Imax Theatre. If you into that sort of gory stuff, you got to see it in 3D.

Cowboys and Aliens

very good, up there with Rise of the Planet of the Apes and X-Men : First Class this year IMO

Really? The reviews werent that good and some people also told me not to watch it...I guess Ill watch it anyway, whenever I get a chance.

The man from nowhere 2010 This highest grossing domestic korean film of the yr tells the story of a man with a dark, anguished past who goes after a group of gangsters who ve kidnapped a neighbours daughter

If korean films do anything well its the dark, violent action films so in that context this film was a little disappointing

First the plus points The actions good - the end fight scene is quite a standout, its well also well acted esp by the young girl But Theres nothing knew storyline wise on offer here

There are a few too many unnecesssary characters which muddle up the story which also seemed contrived The film throughout felt as tho it was trying too hard and as a result failed to make a connection

Everything in the film ws decent but for fans of korean cinema nothing jaw dropping or new

in the end its a decent dark action film if a little hollow n run of the mill

The Man From Nowhere

Another Korean gem

Finally, got around to seeing "The Man from Nowhere".

I have never watched a Korean movie before. I always wanted to, but never got the time.

After watching this movie, I will definitely be catching up on all the movies I have missed from that industry. High quality stuff, I was thoroughly impressed.

The acting by Cha Tae Shik and So-mi (little girl) was out of this world. Everything was perfect about their acting. I doubt any other duo could have pulled it off this well.

Top notch. Loved it! I recommend everyone watch it.

9/10.

A Moment to Remember - It's been a while since i've this but it always leaves an impression on me. It is simply a great romantic drama but what sets it apart from other similar movies is it's heartbreaking. A true Korean classic and highly recommended.

If you can handle brutal violence then go watch I Saw The Devil asap, it's easily one of the movies of the year.

I'd also recommend The Chaser but only if you haven't seen Bollywood's Murder 2 because it was a total rip off.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

I'll definitely be watching those movies, soon. :)

Watched, "I Saw the Devil" after a few people recommended it.

Very good movie. No doubt, there is a lot of blood and excessive violence involved, but it only makes the movie better.

Koreans are really good with these revenge movies, aren't they?! They don't hold back, at all.

Great acting from the villain and the main guy.

The villiain in this movie also plays the lead role in Oldboy, one of the best movies ever.

jus saw it ...
Yea thought it was pretty good.. didnt find it amazing though as people thought it was.. maybe coz he turned into Jason Bourne/James Bond at the end.. overall story wise was good..deserves a hollywood remake

7.5/10

I'd highly recommend the Spanish-Mexican film called "The Orphanage" (2007). Its a freaking classic movie. Gets kind of borring in the middle but well worth it if you stick by it till the end.

Guillermo del Toro is coming out with another horror flick similar to Pan's Labyrinth but a lot darker it seems.

Don't be Afraid of the Dark

Can't wait.

Really? The reviews werent that good and some people also told me not to watch it...I guess Ill watch it anyway, whenever I get a chance.

I read the reviews and decided not to go watch it but then went with friends because nothing else on. Once again it proved to me that reviewers don't know anything like most 'journalists'. I remember years ago 'Get Shorty' got great critical reviews but me and my friends walked out because it was so tedious.

Two completely different movies.

Going by reviews, it is Nowhere near as good as Pan's Labyrinth. It is'nt similiar to Pan's Labyrinth either. Just another haunted house hollywood flick.

So had I !

One thing which turned me was that actual customer reviews rather than critical reviews were quite good according to my local cinema's website. http:www.myvue.com

Good choice because i always find movie critics generally over-analyze and are sometimes harsh on a film for reasons that customers don't care about.

I thought it borrowed from Man On Fire and Taken .

A bittersweet life 2005

I watched this again Ultra stylish, sleek, elegant, dark n ofcourse violent korean drama, a bittersweet life is one of the best in koreas recent history

This simple film has everything, superbly acted, great camerawork and fantastic choreography with a good script and beautiful action

Little can be faulted in this tragic film. The lead actor plays the role perfectly essaying a range of emotions- anger, sympathy, fear, despair, pain and love

A must watch

9 /10

Well I was just going by the scoop of the movie with Guillermo saying how it has similar elements.

Joint Security Area. ( Korean film )

Movie is about investigation of a small skirmish in DMZ zone between north and south korean soldiers.
Also the movie portrays the friendship between a group of north and south korean soldiers.

Watched "Oldboy".

Unbelievably brilliant. What a twist near the end.

The director and storywriter never let the suspense dip. This was the best part about the movie, I was hooked on from the beginning until the end. It takes quite a genius to get a movie to flow like that.

I am becoming a big fan of the main actor. He was brilliant in both this and "I Saw the Devil". He know what acting is all about!

Great movie.

9/10.

Supposedly, they are making a remake of "Oldboy".

It will have Josh Brolin and Christian Bale with Spike Lee as director.

Hmm.

This one? http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/oldboy/

Wu Xia Been eagerly awaiting this for quite some time and thankfully it doesn't disappoint. Probably Donnie Yen's best movie since his IP man series.

This movie is a mystery thriller at first and an intriguing one at that but the second half has some mesmerising martial arts sequences.

Overall, a quality effort from Donnie and a fine testament to his acting and martial arts skills.

Meri brother ki dulhaan 1/10 (worst bollywood movie ever) horrible acting by katrina, she looks hot that it's it. Ali Zafar acts like a cartoon. Bakwaas picture

I stepped aside from the Korean films for today and watched "Mere Brother ki Dulhan".

It was quite a disappointing watch. Ali Zafar was good in parts, but went a tad overboard with his acting. Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif were average.

In the end, acting didn't even matter. The script had nothing to offer and I am surprised they even signed up for such a film.

I thought it was a real waste of time. Usually, I don't mind films based on just entertaining as I enjoyed Bodyguard, but come on this was atrocious film making!

5/10, at best.

Bol

Loved it.. One of the best movies ive seen this year.. better than all crap Bollywood ever put out

9/10

Bol is doing getting much better reviews and ratings than Bodyguard and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan :))
Obviously the 2 bollywood movies are making much more money in the box office though.

I think it's because people don't want to go see a topic movie at the theatre.

Most go to relax and step away from the issues surrounding them in the real world.

Movies like Bodyguard and MBKD will always flourish. Although, MBKD deserves to suffer for being so mediocre. :))

true.. but also has to do with population and marketing..

Indian media goes crazy promoting their own movies and their population means that even 2% of it goes to watch their movies..thats alot lol..

plus the well known stars.. Salman Khan in one movie and Katrina kaif in the other..markets itself no matter how shittyy a movie is..which usually more than half the time Bollywood movies are.. garbage

A_R, MBKD is not for serious people.:P 1/10 rating shows your sense of humor has gone very weak :23::D. MBKD was such a cute, lovely movie.:)

How do you see Ali Zafar's future in India?

Very Bright.:)

Ali Zafar  is my all time fav.singer & actor from Pakistan(that says it all,I guess lol).
I loved his 'Tere Bin Laden' movie, have watched it so so many times.:D

It's good to see our singers / actors working in Bollywood. Comedian Johny Lever has recently worked in a Pakistani movie too.

However, the only fear is that extremist elements at both sides will always trouble for either sides.

When British actors / actresses can work in US movies and US actors / actresses work in British movies why not in Bollywood / Lollywood.

How about Shoaib Mansoor making a movie in India with Indian actors and Mahesh Bhatt or any top director doing the same thing in Pakistan :D. Will be fun

True,that would be good.

As for Shoaib Mansoor,we already have Sanjay Leela Bhansali for making super depressing, sad & tense movies. (Only HDDCS was good).

I watched 'Khuda Key Liye',was a nice gripping movie....but it still haunts me,very depressing:(. Not sure, would be watching 'Bol' or not.I watch movies, strictly for entertainment purposes(& only comedy TBH).:D

But BOL is nice movie. Despite serious story, nice songs and very good acting by Humaima Malick. Some funny scenes too :D

Trust me, it was a pathetic movie. The timings of the humor was pretty poor, there were some laughs there and there. The script was horrible and the dialogues less said the better. Katrina looks hot, but when it comes into acting she's the ashrafool of Bollywood. Ali Zafar had so much less lines and it didn't look like they were brothers, the chemistry of bhais seemed dim and forced. I had high expectations from this movie, but came out very disappointed. 0.5/10, even Bodyguard was better than this.

"Cute and lovely movie" Oh please even Nana Patekar's ek machar is cuter than MBKD.

A clockwise orange 9.5/10, can't believe this movie was actually made in the 70s, brilliant film. I'm Singing in the rain.

Lincoln Lawyer. Pretty decent movie. 7/10. Watch it only if you have nothing else to do.

Bodyguard was a pathetic movie,Salman kept on beating people throughout,Kareena was bad as always & ending was total chaos. MBKD is such a lovely lively movie.:)
How can you compare it to Nana Patekar - disgrace of a sweet movie.:P

Hello Auntie I am only 21 :junaid probably 10 to 20 years younger than you :sachin
Salman beats people with style and passion also the Zabardast dialogue "Mujh Par Ek Ehsan Karna , Ki Mujh Par Koi Ehsan Na Karna" :akhtar
MBKD 0.2/10

Lol :))):)):))) You only told once you're a senior citizen.:yk

Bodyguard -20/10. :23:

MBKD - Was an OKAY movie at best. If you go in with a mindset of "I'm going to loosen up and enjoy the next 2 and a half hours", then you will most probably like this movie, as I did.

However, if I were to critique it on the storyline, acting etc, I wouldn't give it more than 4/10.

Completely agree. Katrina's acting was crap as usual... IK was the best in terms of acting imo.

Still it was better then Bodyguard...

Just watched '7 Khoon Maaf' what a crazy film, 1.5 or max 2 points outta 5
