A startlingly good horror movie. Tribute to the films of Lucio Fulci. A family moves into a house which has a dark past. A cliched story made VERY interesting by the director and some great performances. The movie goes from a moody, atmospheric horror piece to a gore-a-thon but doesn't lose it's sight of the end goal which is to remain as grounded as possible.
It also has a sly, very understated sense of humour which can be seen from time to time.
I think I can say that this might end up as the best horror film of the year for me but I said the same about It Follows till this came around. So, you never know.
But the Indie horror scene is churning out some really horror films this year. Good on 'em!
