2015 World Cup Result : New Zealand edge out Australia by one wicket in a thrilling encounter

I think when the adrenaline and euphoria of that contest fades the OZ will look at it and say that geez we can't do that too many times and expect the bowlers to bail us out. It truly was a dire performance that was redeemed by some late heroics. Some of these batsmen really need to have a good hard look at themselves in the mirror.

If I were Hesson or Macca I'd be asking myself how on earth did we nearly lose this game? Crazy.

It is a game both teams needed. Both teams have been rolling over everything that comes their way.

Glad to see you enjoyed the match.

All is forgiven.

We like you want you to stay with us !!! :)

Seriously I thought before the game australia would win. I don't try to troll I just speak my opinions and do the same in real life. I'll try to tone it done a touch

This wasn't high quality. It was high quality bowling from Starc, but the batting was rubbish from both teams.

excuse me Sir

Starc 5 out of 6 wickets were unplayable deliveries .... it was not rubbish batting ... its not always when a team is out under 150 because of bad batting ... it can be because of good bowling too.

Aussies batted badly .. I agree

Starc bowling really made a match out of it ... thats what make it high quality competition is all about

No worries mate.

Sometimes we are passionate about things, and it flows over...

But at the end of the day, cricket is all about passion !

In all honesty I am just glad Mr crowe got to go home happy. Won't be with us for much longer
Hopefully the NZders can win the WC for him, I can only imagine how 92 must be for him probably still regrets not taking the field in the Semi...

he retired younger than brendon mccullum is now. If only his knees had held out

This is our Dhoni moment (obviously not as big)

that average is going up too

47.29 in one day cricket is not bad

Have to say, McCullum made batting look really easy out there.. everyone else barring KW and Haddin struggled.

The match is probably the clue that Aussies will beat the Kiwis should they meet in the knock outs. NZ had everything going their way in this match, yet just barely managed to win. Great match anyway.

Andersons catch was dubious.

Too bad couldn't watch the game as was travelling

Anyways, can any Kiwi fan tell me what's the news on Macca's arm which got struck by a Mitch snorter? Is it any serious?

maybe but this match was our massive question mark. Before this match we knew we were better than most of the other teams but were we good enough to trouble australia?

I think the confidence level will go up a notch

For me highlights of that match were

1) Mccullum coming down the wicket to johnson and smashing him all over the park

2) Starc superb inswing yorkers

What a match this was. Low scoring thriller. Congrats to NZed on pulling through. Kane clutch shot to finish the game.

If you want a laugh read the post match comments for this game

"from this match it is obvious both NZ and Australia have a weakness against good bowling attacks"

Big thing here is we both have the bowling attacks...

What?:O Is he in advanced stages of cancer. I hope thats not the case. Lets hope he turns the corner and is in the path of healing
He wrote in one his articles that doctors had told him that he doesn't have long to go and should finalize his affairs..

Well played New Zealand! Only followed the score but it seemed to be a smashing game.

Brilliant game, shows the fire power of the bowling in both sides, usually the teams with best bowling attacks win the world cup so clearly one of these two sides should end up winning the trophy.

Match of the WC so far! What a thriller it was! Interestingly it was bowlers' game! A rare one nowadays especially!

WTH NZ only 5 wickets in hand and they had about 20 odd runs to chase when I went to bed. WTH happened ? I regret sleeping yesterday :mv

I was wrong, it turned out to be an entertaining encounter! for once the billing lived up to the hype!

You need that tough characteristic and many cricketers lack that. You play TDCA ? if yes division and which team ?

no brother I wish, Im too busy nowadys with work maybe in summer I will try to get into it I love to play but my skills are a bit rusty havent played for 4-5 years . I live in Guelph so kinda far from toronto too. I was thinking of joining some K/W team

good to see a low scoring game they are entertaining in their own right especially after I predicted a high scoring one

Watched his 174 vs Pakistan 2nd test 1988/89 on youtube the other day randomly. Fantastic knock that, without proper helmet too. Fearless.
