That nickname can easily backfire

What a tremendous performance by Abid. Home conditions are home conditions. Pakistani batsmen should start gaining their mojo back from this innings.

Finally a commanding day for PAK. What I wrote for first innings, they did exactly the same on 2nd, actually better - 338/2 in a day. This is not new though - what is norm often doesn’t happen for PCT, either way.

I think, the equation is still the same - PAK will need 200+ overs here to get 20 wickets; add to that 10 overs lost so far due to poor light and PAK has to keep 15 overs buffer. That leaves then max 210 overs to bat out SRL.

So far, team has batted 163 overs - so PAK should look to bat for another 45 max, better if they can do in 40, because now SRL will waste time and we are on the smallest two days of northern hemisphere. Azhar should target to declare/get all out 70 minutes before Tea, latest and they must adjust the scoring rate for that. Karachi track doesn’t break that much for spinners, hence it’ll not be easy to get 10 wickets 2nd time.

Excellent day for Pakistan. I am starting to doubt Shan but he scored big. Need him to take this confidence into the next test series as this 100 ensures he plays the next few games. Have lost all confidence in Azhar but if he scores big it will keep him in the side for the next few games.

Need to try and bat for another 40 overs or so. Get Sri Lanka in and keep the pressure on them.

Good point on the bad light issue, so probably need to bat 1 more session or maybe 10 overs into 2nd session.

40 overs max more batting. Plus with yasir out of form, seamers need to be carefully used as will take time to try and get 10 SL wickets.

well considering Misbah is the coach, Pak team will be little defensive and will rule out the defeat first which means we will bat till tea.
