3-1 game over. Rashford again.
Midfield has been atrocious, left short in TW. Knew this would happen.

So disappointed. We played so well for large parts of the game but lacked killer instinct. We are so technically and tactically brilliant to keep possession, play around the press and progress the ball to the final 3rd, but always in these big games our attackers lose their bottle to put the ball in the net. Then, stupid naive defending gives them 3 chances and 3 goals.
Improved performance, but same result again away to the big 6. Gutted.

Arsenal fans panicking after one loss lol
Its not panic after 1 loss, this was 1st test of the season and same frailties of last season were exposed. Most fans can see that midfield is weak and squad has holes in it which were exposed yesterday and will continue to happen across the season.
2-0 so far..
Goal from Saliba and Jesus excellent controlled performance.
One of Arsenal’s best halves of the season so far. They have made Brentford (who are widely agreed upon to be a solid PL outfit) look like a pub team.
SUBSTITUTION
Brentford 0-3 Arsenal
What a moment this is.
Ethan Nwaneri, 15 years of age, is on for Arsenal.
He becomes the Premier League's youngest EVER player.
The schoolboy replaces Fabio Vieira.
Having Partey back in midfield makes such difference. control in possession and no gaps in front of defence when we dont have the ball. well done so far. This is why we cant afford to have him out injured.
If Partey was playing against Man U, I'm sure we would have won that game.
Lokonga left gaps in defence which allowed Eriksen to exploit. He was responsible for 2 of the goals conceded that day.
We need a much better back up for Partey in the January transfer window but realistically we'll probably end up signing one or both of Luiz and Tielemans on a free for them to join us next season.
Top 4 is minimum must this season and also competitive cup runs, no excuses.
we do need to still get a winger and midfielder in january.
Jesus is now on 4 yellow cards so 1 more he will miss a game soon. hopefully not the liverpool game.
Vieira is a smart signing. Arteta signed him as Arsenal’s Bernando and if he becomes 50% the player Bernardo is he will be a great signing.
Arteta is slowly putting up the pieces to bringing Wengerball back and to play the type of football City play.
Players who are comfortable in possession, technically sound and good at decision-making. Vieira provides cover in the wings, at number 10 and can also drop deep to play as a number 6 and number 8.
Arsenal fans have been clamoring for a winger but there is no use of a trickster who will lose the ball more often than not and set up counter-attacks for the opposition.
It would take a remarkable collapse to drop out of the top 4 this season. It is sealed in my opinion, and the next missing piece in the puzzle is to sign a proper deep lying playmaker, someone who is press resistant and can dictate the tempo.
Arteta needs to find his Gundogan and I am sure he will address this position next summer.
If you were Edu would take the opportunity to sign one or both of Tielemans and Douglas Luiz as they're in their final year of their contracts?
I would do a bit of scouting and find a player with a higher ceiling. Tielemans and Luiz are solid players but they are not world class, and a world class deep lying playmaker makes a huge difference.
I’m sure there are plenty of hidden gems in Spain, France, Germany, Italy etc. that Arsenal can snatch before the big boys get a look at them.
There is a reason why no big team wants Tielemans or Luiz. They are not at that level.
That's a problem because he needs to avoid a yellow card for the next 12 matches for that count to reset. Realistically speaking he's gonna get a caution some time soon.
If I was Arteta, I'd advise him to do a tactical one. Get a yellow during an away trip when the game is done and dusted so he can miss the next game which hopefully happens to be at the Emirates against a non big 6 side.
I rather have him starting against the big 6 rather than Nketiah.
Jesus has been our best player this season. An absolute revelation. If I remember correctly, out of all games we've played in the PL, he's been MOTM in 4 of them right?
Agree on tactical foul as are next league fixtures are
Spurs (h)
Liverpool (h)
leeds (A)
Southampton (A)
Forrest (h)
Chelsea (A)
wolves (h)
so forrest game would probably one he could miss and we would get away with it.
Arsenal are looking good. They are the dark horses for the title.
Yesterday was the most stress free game I've watched Arsenal play in a very very long time.
We simply dominated from from first whistle to the last.
Awsome performance.
The next two games are huge and will define the season for us.
I think Arsenal will win most of these matches.
Chelsea away will be a tough game.
What do you think about Leeds v Arsenal? Any hope for Leeds?
Hate saying this as a united fan, but this is now a serious football team.
Need things to unravel soon for arsenal otherwise this is a title challenge.
Partey and Jesus stay fit all season and I'm very worried.
Need back to back defeats to pull them back into the pack please
No title challenge, just a top 4 finish and win a cup this season would be realistic i hope.
Arsenal cannot risk 4th position knowing how some CL failure side from the premier league can possibly go on and knock them off by winning the Europa cup.
I personally feel UEFA needs to start considering 5 spots to Premier league for the CL as they have 5 or 6 high quality sides.
If this was scenario was to happen, I thought both sides would make get CL spots, nah?

No, the Europa cup winner gets the CL spot even if they finish 10th in their league. 4th position has to make way.
UEFA really need to look into this rule especially considering the highly competitive nature of the PL as compared to the other European leagues

Honestly, we should settle for Top 3 just for now. Around March we can see where we are and go for the charge if it is possible
I’ve not seen the fixtures in detail but I feel Arsenal will have a prolonged period of seriously tough fixtures
The best thing they could have done is make sure to win all the winnable away games. They have done that so far

City absolutely walk the league this year if Haaland stays fit and nobody else even comes close.
Arsenal are looking good but lack depth in key areas. A tougher fixture list in October should restore some semblance of accuracy in the league table by November. I expect City to establish a lead at the top by then which they will never lose.
Tottenham are superior in every department. They don't play fancy meaningless passes nor is their 'keeper hyperactive so going under the radar. They remain unbeaten
Arsenal are still interested in signing 24-year-old Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa to replace the injured Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey, 29. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta failed to bring in Luiz in the summer but is set to make a third bid for the Brazil midfielder, after having two rejected on transfer deadline day. (The Sun)
What about William Saliba?
That was a stunning, 10/10 performance. MOTM for me. Every time the ball came near him, he won it. Intercepting, winning a 50/50, dispossessing every player that dared to take him on with ridiculous ease. He just makes it look so simple.
The courage and composure on the ball to dribble and turn out of tough situations, even around his own box.
21 years old. I am convinced this kid is seriously special. Give him whatever he wants or we will regret it.
So looking forward to being in the away end at the Emirates Airlines Stadium, whatever its called.
Oct 9th LFC will bring this lot down to Earth if they aren't already by then.
Villa deserved a point today.
Same scoreline as yours and Newcastle are a better team.
Geordies were cheating, falling over with 1mph wind hit them. There should have been more time added imo.
Why would a Liverpool fan be bitter, have you been asleep last 4/5 years?
Im only mentioning Ill be at the 2nd best stadium in North London. Hope to see you there at the end when we teach you how to play football.
Please dont tell me like a few thousand Arsenal fans on social media, you dont believe you will win the PL?
I wasnt watching as Liverpool were playing.
I didnt mean Villa dominated but having equalised near 80 mins, reading how they worked hard, a point would be fair. But maybe they didnt..
Now tell me are Arsenal going to win the Premier League?![]()
