HT 0-0

Arsenal need to play with a quicker temp in final 3rd, that's how they will cause Real Madrid problems.

Also someone from midfield needs to be breaking into the box. Espcially having extra man in midfield

It's been a good first half.
We're playing our game and don't look overawed...

They need to be wary of Real breaking on them and playing responsibly..
 
Decent half without the finish.

I'd like Martinelli to see more of the ball vs Valverde. We seem to be putting everything thru saka side and Odegaard has been wasteful.

Partey and MLS been really good. Rice has been decent to.

I just feel there is a bozo moment about to be punished.

Saka probably got another 20 mins. Need to make them count.

Also try to get more corners. I reckon we can nick 1

1st time we got a midfielder breaking into box was when Rice had the shot which was saved.

We have extra man in midfield, so no excuse for one of 3 getting into the box. Espcially as Merino I'd dropping deep and means no one in the box.

The quicker we get ball out to saka the better.

Rice was non existent until the header. Oddegard has been awful. His usually spinning around and taking to long to get ball forward.

I understand merino is not a striker, but ffs get in box instead of dropping deep all time.

I think partey has been good.

We've got away with 3 bozo moments in 1st half through sloppy turn overs.

0-0 at HT isn't to bad

He needs to see more of the ball..

Saka has been going round the outside of Alaba every time... I'm waiting for him to cut inside and unleash one into the far corner

By the way where was Bellingham in the first half?

Bellingham has been average. We should be pressing modric as much as possibles, he's not as good as what he use to be.

Camavinga had Been excellent and the one we have to keep quite

Excellent 2nd half performance.

Most of all the team took its chances when on top. As I said before the game Madrid always concede chances, teams fail to punish them usually.

Arsenal had to be clinical and punished Madrid.

Rice free kicks were like prime Beckham.
 
Madrid have similar issues to what City have in midfiled. They've failed to replace Kroos and Modric who gave them control under pressure.
 
Congrats Arsenal fans, played like a big club today :akhtar It’s great to see EPL clubs do well in the CL & Arsenal/Villa are keeping us in the mix still. I also want to selfishly take some credit, each time I popped out for a few mins and tuned back in, Arsenal scored a goal!

Arsenal had the extra man in midfield which in 2nd half they made count. I said at half time Arsenal had to get midfield further forward. Rice step up which was good. As the captain didnt as usual.
 
What a game! Amazing goals. I would say Arsenal's best night in their European history. Special free kicks from Rice. He ain't sleeping tonight. His adrenaline levels must through the roof.

I've been told Rice's xG to score the free kicks were 0.04 and 0.05. Assuming these figures are accurate, the probability of him scoring both was 1 in 500 👏

I said to you before that an improvement in Europe would be beating a top side in a knockout game. A team of equal or better quality.

So yeah tonight is an improvement. Difference between this game and last years game vs Bayern. Arsenal took their chance when on top. Rice who was average vs Bayern, turned up tonight.

I hope we can go all the way. Real Madrid are still in it.

I hope Arteta will rest most of the players that played this evening over the weekend.

Not the best night in history.

Arsenal have won 2 European trophies, both of those are Arsenal's best nights.

Tonight would be a par with when we beat Madrid last time. Or juve in the 1/4 finals.

Or even beating Ac Milan 2-0 away.

Nothing will top beating Parma in CWC final.

You classify a 1/4 final 1st leg win, over a trophy final win.

That 2nd free kick though was the best by an Arsenal player at a game at the Emirates for sure though.

I don't particularly rate those 2 European trophies if I'm honest but surely it's the best in Europe's top tier competition?

What's not to rate?

Have a look at the sides that were in the CWC when Arsenal won it.

Real Madrid
PSG
Torino - uefa cup finalist 2 years before
Benfica
Leverkusen
Ajax - won the CL the following season
Parma - holders

That's the 7 other teams that were in 1/4 finals. Both the CWC and Uefa Cup back in 90s were very strong in certain seasons.

Arsenal beat a PSG team with ginola and weah

Parma won the CWC and uefa Cup in mid 90s

So yeah I put Arsenal win in a final over a Parma team with a front 3 of Asprilla, zola and brolin. Over any CL win until we win a final.

Yeah CL is top tier. But a 1/4 final 1st leg win doesn't surpase a Trophy win. Espcially when the CWC was very strong when Arsenal won it

Dont worry Pal. I ignore unnecessary hot air. And i didn't slag him. I said his performances throughout the season, as one of the main players have been not up standard. Hence, a moderate Liverpool side romping to the title.

Madrid in the first 10-15 minutes had their best chances and didn’t put them away.

I was hoping it doesn’t end up 0-0 because going into Barbanbeau with no advantage is as good as losing a second leg. 1-0 wasn’t going to be enough either. Arsenal sniffed blood in the 2nd half and made it count.

Excellent game for Saka and Rice. Defence on point in 2nd half as well.

Courteous made some world class saves to keep Madrid in the tie but Rice’s brilliance on set piece undid that. 3-0 is the best result you can hope for going into an away 2nd leg against super giants like Madrid, Barca and Bayern.

InshaAllah semi final here we come!

In top Tier CL yeah its up their with beating Madrid last time, beating Juve or AC Milan.

The 2-1 win over Barca, even though we lost the 2nd leg. For me would still be my favourite. Just because of how good that Barca team was and how we beat them in that 1st leg.

Bro, do you remember last year about Odegaard and Babar analogy? I got the same vibes from him. Mentally very weak. Didn't want to impose himself in the game.
