That defensive front foot block should give him a lot of confidence. Full weight transfer on the front foot and met the ball with the middle of the bat.

Masood needs to be picky now. The platform is laid, don't waste it by going after everything now.
 
Masood doesn't want to leave any outside the off stump. That's the issue with him; once he starts scoring, he feels the itch to put the bat on every ball.

Lucky that dropped short of marnus, anything remotely in his zone he would have gobbled up, he's an excellent fielder.
The blow gives some time to masood to rethink his outside off strategy
 
Shan getting a 2nd life. Marnus would have grabbed it if it was few millimeters ahead. Babar and Shan need to stay till the day ends.
 
Shan is looking imperious off both feet. Just don't go after the ones not in your zone.
 
Masood's fast innings is why Pakistan hasn't crumbled till now. If he too took the imam/Abdullah path we would be 50/5 right now.

He’s the only one who understand this atm. And his example has led to Babar and Rizwan breaking loose too.

Shan Masood gets an all important fifty with an excellent strike rate. probably our best batter in this series.

Exactly, Shan's captaincy and attitude has been a breath of fresh air. Hopefully helps change the approach and mindset for the rest of the team
 
Brilliant counter punch from Shan Masood. The best batsmen between both teams.
If Masood can stay for one more session, Pakistan can start dreaming of a very well deserved win.
 
Both Babar and Shan are playing well but I feel like the pitch is also flattening out..

Rotate the strike and avoid high risk shots - still lots of time left in this test
 
Starting watching last couple of overs. These are good conditions to bat in with bright sun. No demons in the pitch.
Imam should be dropped for being so timid
 
Being forced to eat my words on Shan, thought he'd be a liability on this tour but he's batted with great intent and taken the game to the aussies. FC grind has clearly done him well.

These 2 need to bat this session without getting out. That will make Australia panic.
Aussies are not used to the pressure of losing in their home turf.

Ideal way to deal with Cummins is to somehow keep rotating the strike and don't let him bowl more than 2 3 deliveries at one batter.
 
Shan too much in ODI mode.

iam happy to see the fight on this tour on all other tours we gave up way too easily atleast this time we have been competitive
 
Driving with an open face Masood. Has been his weakness throughout his career.
Still has been good by our standards
 
Should have played it with a straighter bat. Trying to play it towards mid on and ends up throwing his wicket.
