1st ODI: Australia v India at Perth, Jan 12, 2016

40 minutes or so to go for the 1st ODI of the series.

Perth just had a passing shower so hopefully game will start on time.

Perhaps last chance for Dhoni to redeem himself and shut his critics. Otherwise I hope he goes for the betterment of Indian cricket.

Lots of new faces in both the teams. Expect some good contests between new Aussie pacers and Indian batsmen most of whom are yet to do anything of sorts in Australia vs Australia :kohli

Have a bet on with a friend, if Australia lose I have to watch the awful "The Fault in Our Stars"

For Gods sake Australia win!!

*Finch for a double hundred*

Australia have zilch chance of losing at Perth at least.

Finally a good match, worth watching, waiting. Australia-WI and NZL-SL were no match.

Only found out it was today few hours ago, have been waiting for it.

Sran gets his debut for India.

Looks a promising young left handed pacer.

Mods: Kindly merge this thread with the other one

You could select your "B" team and India would still lose.

Batting will cover up for it.

Australia's batting lineup is overrated. A few too many passengers in that side still.

Though Clarke retiring has got rid of one

Bat first, right choice?

If any other captain made this choice I'd be skeptical, but since it's dhoni will give benefit of the doubt.

Yes Skysports broadcast for Willow and no Channel 9 bs. Dhoni looking young with died hair lol. Kinda looks like Rajnikanth.

I don't know why India keep selecting Bhuvi for Australian tours. The conditions aren't just suitable for him and deliveries at his pace will just be cannon fodder for the Aussie batsmen. The likes of Warner will massacre him.

I would've liked Aaron to have played this series, even if he is a spray gun. It's not like we're winning this series anyway and this would've been a good experience for him to learn bowling in the Australian conditions.

Ishant is still injured (I think he has a finger cut) so they chose Bhuvneshwar instead.

Why not like let an actual native do that aboriginal thing ?

Because it was invented a couple of decades ago when the Royals visited New Zealand first, saw the Maoris do their thing and then we realised we had to match that

Why doesn't Rohit try to hit every ball for 4 like that clown Umar Akmal?

LOL Rohit's isnt any better. You wouldn't say this if you had watched him long enough.

Scores tons for fun in India but overseas gifts away his wicket for free

ahahah 131 k/h in Australian conditions, I would love to see joel parris bowling on Indian pattas :misbah

And that's saying much.

Rohit is average but has an incredible attention span and talent.

Remind me when Umar scores a double century in ODI.

I would like to hear Junaids comment on this match.

Probably will say it's useless to watch because Australia prepared roads as usual so that India could compete and crowd could be entertained to a full day's play :)))

Just look at that shot. He has time and again produces shots and short stints even when going was tough for other batsmen. But somehow does something soooo stupid that ends up getting out to dollies when centuries were on offer.

You can't teach intelligence.

Dhawan and Sharma are playing on different pitches.

And Dhawan as usual as thrown it away in a hack like fashion.

No offence, but I've nothing to say. We talked about putting it on in the tea room at work, but none of us were interested - we've all seen too many Australia v India ODIs this last twelve months. I can't imagine there will be any sort of a crowd - we are all sick of hosting India again and again and again.

So I don't even know who's in which team, sorry.

Virat has grown an impressive beard since the SAF series.

Do you all get tired of hosting the poms?

Paris looks a good bowler but not as fast as hyped.

Fluent action and gets his wrist perfectly behind the ball for maximum revs.

Paris is raw, but has potential.

Australians always give opportunities to those with special talents rather than waiting for them to become a complete products. Warne was selected to the national team after playing 6 first class matches and he didn't even know half the team mates' name.

Was he really hyped as fast?

The guy has potential , but is raw.

And i always felt he was 130s-140s bowler with ability to get swing ?

Where is that best LA bowler of current era, yet to come ? I'm watching the game. :mv

Is it a good decision? This is a day match at WACA & IND has 30 overs of pacers. Unless they put 320, I think AUS'llchase any total. Bowling 1st probably was the better choice.

Aus v India is no longer interesting, it's as bad as India-SL for neutrals.

Dhawan should be dropped and Raina should be brought back in the team.

Please host Pakistan more. Even though i dont watch india-aus games but they feel like india sri lanka now. Where india is ironically sri lanka and gets buried all the time.

No disrespect but NZ vs SRL was horrible too.

And I know you mean from the repetitive point of view but watching one sided matches isn't fun either.

There was a thread comparing Starc, Amir and Paris, asking which is the best left arm bowler of this era.
