This should be fawads last test. time to move on.

one more wicket and Aussies are into our long tail.
 
Looks like it will be Australia who will get a 50+ lead. Rizwan and Babar stand in the way. Test specialists have done their job adequately.
 
I’m sick of these nightwatchman tactics. All our players come in with the same attitude. Disgusting.
 
Fawad Alam, I have huge respect for your patience, but please retire and serve your country as coach in domestic circuit.
 
Surprising if we even reach 300 tonight. I don't know what happened to these guys after Tea.

21 runs scored in 14.3 overs since Tea, no boundaries.
 
Rizwan will be the difference now. If he plays a sparky innings then Pakistan will get close to the Aussie score.

Its not easy to score quick runs here...i dont understand the negativity here but yes because we are so far behind the game we will struggle now. Huge tail coming after this.
 
Nauman, Sajid and Hassan will score more than Fawad. All hope is not lost.

Exactly. Some people cannot comprehend Test cricket, there are many phases in Test cricket when opposition do not allow you to scorr freely,and of course with some like Fawad who seem to be in poor form it will be harder. Even Shafique ans Azhar were slow.
 
we need a big partnership now from our last recognised batting pair.

Like watching a teenager bowl to a 60 year old with poor eyesight on a village cricket field.

Well as i said game is over now ..Rizwan has just played one good innings all series...Faddy well out of form..Imam just one match...its all babz and Shafique who have saved us
 
Match gone. Will need to play out time and bat as long as we can without scoring anything. That was the motto anyway of the top order.

Pakistan will have to survive for a draw again. Winning this match looks almost impossible now.
 
Pakistan in trouble again. Look to survive here for as long as possible and shouldn't concede a lead too big.
 
Rizwan gone, big trouble now as we have to bat last here and Aussies could end up with a very good 1st inns lead.

This stupid blocking is to blame.
 
Totally totally deserved for negative batsmanship. Sorry but if you bat for 110 overs and score only 256, you'll always be vulnerable to a loss of quick wickets.
 
Thats why this happily batting along at 2 rpo is no good. We should have a least another 100 runs on the board where we would have far better chance of winning or drawing match.

Not only does filling the team with grinders bore us all to death but hurts the team.
 
134 runs behind, this will get messy for pakistan now.
 
Starc bowling superbly, showing his class. Expect the lead to be 80-100 runs or so. And I don't see a repeat of Day 5 heroics to save the game. Losing Rizwan has dashed remote hopes Pakistan had of winning this match.
 
Over rate has been slow from Australia. I wonder if their WTC points would be deducted.
 
Where are Pakistani batters who can seize the initiative..at least on Home pitches. ?
Except for Babar and Rizwan rest in top order do not rotate strike that well and get stuck. That is an issue.
 
Block block and then a wicket falls only helps Aussies. Some of these snails and passengers in team need to be moved on.

Thick tank never learn. Always repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

But no, need to play Azhar so he can get to his 100 tests. Need to play Fawad cos he should have got a chance back in the eighties or whenever it was. Need to play Imam cos his uncle’s Inzy etc etc.

Rinse and repeat.
 
Cummins has few words for Sajid. That means Aussies see and entry into the game and they will resort to some sledging now.

Are there players in domestic who can do better ?
I have heard Kamran Ghulam and Saud Shakeel. I love Haider Ali a lot hopefully he comes good.
 
This is what happens when you dont dominate when set, Pakistan wasted nearly 30 odd overs when they are well set with just 1 wicket gone, not putting away the bad balls..

Abdullah Shafique missed century on 2 inns by playing very slow.

Atleast in the last test , he had a job to save the test for the team, here today there was no such pressure, the team score was 100-1 and he has scored his 50 also..
 
If this test match ends in a draw India will be back at no 1 if Aus fails to win this. Also both teams will pocket only 33% of the WTC points for this series.

Yup crying out for these guys for quite some time, Talent pool is shallow but don’t think could do worse than this lot.

All three of them are good to replace.. Only Haider Ali of late is not in form.. but the other two can easily replace Fawad and do really well in that position..

The problem is they would give this new youngsters chance in SENA countries and when they fail , they never return for a long time..

Fawad failing at home is brutal.. I rmb Aus finished his ODI career , likewise they could finish his test career here ...
 
When you score this slowly and allow reverse swing to come into it your always asking for trouble
 
Not sure why the Pakistan think tank have Sajid batting ahead of Nauman and Hassan Ali.

Well with his technique he cannot survive against high pace. Imagine him in Australia vs Starc and Cummins in Gabba or vs Bumrah with that technique. They will chew him up.
 
The horrors of playing at 2 rpo. Pakistan really should've been 330 by now.

Shafique and Azhar deserves a lot of blame. Azhar more so because his 7k runs are utterly useless.
 
Babar cant do anything ball is reversing...and they are bowling superbly. Only option is farm the strike until the pacers are off and attack the spinners
 
How does Sajid with average of 17 gets to bat higher than Nauman. Nauaman has alreadyplayedsome good inninhs in tests yet always bats lower than like of Sajid and the real tailender Hasan Ali.
