I think warner has done well so far, he is not a kind of player who will average in mid 40s .

Many needless shots from the OZ England right on top

Bailey gone, Broad takes a wicket of a short ball...really was testing Bailey with the short stuff

Haddin walks out, has been in great form

Its really going to be intriguing watching Johnson ball on this pitch, very bouncy pitch this

Another bowler I would like to see bowling on this pitch would be Mohammad Irfan!

Another key point to note is the fact that the Eng bowlers speeds are a bit higher then the last couple of tests

We may get rolled before tea lol that would be embarrassing

Aussies bottling it a bit here. Nerves manifested as poor strokes. Maybe a good toss for England to lose.

Of course our own batters might bottle it in an even worse fashion lol.

But encouraging signs for us so far.

If the Australians can manage to post something around 280-300, I really can't see the English post anything near that on this pitch.....but for the sake of the series, hope they prove me wrong

Not sure if it's the pitch or the batsmen to blame.

Four ordinary strokes and also a run-out.

But it could be the pitch making batting difficult.

A lot of OZ batsmen will be kicking themselves at how they got out. That said England's bowling asking a lot more questions

I think it's just the pressure the bowlers have been putting on and the pressure of the occasion too.

Like any wicket I always prefer to see both teams bat on it before deciding if a score is good or not.

They should seriously shelve the hook until they have gotten the measure of the wicket.

I guess adding that extra 4-6 mph really does help

Anderson bowled a delivery at 91 mph today and has been around that 86-89 mph range today, where he was around the 78-82 mph range in the other 2 tests

Broad has also upped it a bit, consistently staying 87-90 mph vs being 81-85 mph in the other two tests

Stuart Broad looking like MJ with that bouncer way over Haddos head

Is it about ego for the aussie bats??
If they are not comfortable with the pull, then why not shelve it for the time being?
Instead of taking a risk and trying to get urself out.

Tom Moody doesn't pull any punches, says OZ has 3 No 6s in Twatto, Smith and Bailey and he is dead right

Nah, that's just how they play. If they try and just stay in they go out anyway.

Broad really troubling Haddin here, been lucky 3 times this over

It's just that in Australia it's so natural to hook and pull because of the bounce. We all grow up playing it. It takes a conscious effort to not play it.

Nice to see Draco taking responsibility and revving it up.

Swann has gone past Statham now i think.

Smith won me over in India and England, because he showed some fight with the bat when most others were crumbling like year old bread. Good to see him now playing an attacking innings.

330, if we can get there, should be a decent total.

Smith is a very watchable batsmen.very easy on the eye.
But sometimes he over does his attacking shots and gets out.

Smith's got some guts! England needed to bundle out Australia for under 200, given their well documented struggles against Johnson. Smith is probably taking them close to 300. Add Haddin and Johnson in the mix, they may stretch this to 350.

Look at the run rate! This is the Australia of the old. 'Score and score fast'

Worst news for Australia!! cook has taken Stokes off

lol Man the Aussie run rate is 4.20

At this rate they will end up on 400 today if they bat it out !

Bresnan and Stokes aren't good enough to bowl first change in tests. Thats whats hurting them here.

Bresnan is probably there for his late order runs, which I doubt would not be more than 5-6.

OZ will be kicking themselves they could probably scored 400+ on this wicket had they not thrown their wickets away

The pace at which Australia is scoring is a treat.

My mind reminisces back to the days of Hayden and Langer who would bat Australia into a winning position by day 1 of the test by sheer volumes of runs.

If Australia can play this fast, they will be a huge success.

Chance for Smith to really show he belongs to this team. He's done well thus far helping bat us away from a really dodgy position to one which is still precarious but at least somewhat defendable.

Smith is the ideal number 6 for Australia. Just needs to develop more control on leg spin. Will become the MVP of this team

He batted well in patches in Eng & Ind. He need to be more consistent and try to put some big scores. Perfect place to do and help Aus here.

Broad has easily outbowled jimmy clouderson throughout the series.
Clouderson just doesn't have the pace to trouble the aussie bats here.

Smith is such a free flowing player. If somehow he improves his shot selection, he could be a real asset for the team.

Match starting to get away from England. Couldn't land the killer blow
