What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 1st ODI | Brisbane | Jan 13, 2017 | Australia Innings

Need more Wickets!

Lets finish this off quickly! This is the best chance we have to win a ODI this series against Australia.

Hasan Ali should have taken the new ball.

Poor from Azhar..

Nah, Hafeez has always done a really good job with the new ball. Opening batsmen aren't used to facing spinners right away and he keeps it tight, bowls wicket to wicket and doesn't concede a lot of runs. He's especially good against left handers, opening the bowling is probably the best time to bowl him tbh

Amir should bowl 5 overs opening spell; then come back at around 18th over for 2/3 overs.

Hasan is not a new ball bowler; PAK is wasting his overs, which can be used in last 25 overs.

He was never fit after Gabba's first innings. I wasn't surprised at all that Mickey kept playing his - his other options were inferior to half fit Amir, thanks to stability ......

look at s lyon batting..this is the way to give chances to attacking players..but but we have hafiz a national treasure as u mentiond..

Not really. Two lefties opening and Hafeez did a pretty good job of holding onto his end.

dead right, it was an excellent move. especially since hes had a history of doing very well against left handers when hes opened, and sure enough kept it tight depsite his action being unpracticed.

grounds like this tests ur fitness and we can see batsman winning over our fielders..

It's pretty hot though. 4 is enough.

why is hassan selected? i havent understood his selections since it began. hes very ordinary, not good not bad, not fast not tall. dont understand it.

Hassan's height hurting him here.

Though he has increased his pace from the last time I saw him.

Hasan is very ordinary, short, no pace and no swing. Won't be bowling more than 5 overs.

AUS doesn't choke - even if they are 4 down by now, they'll play their normal game - only way you can stand any chance is play to take advantage of their weaker areas.

There's definitely much better bowlers in domestic. His selection confuses me. Does not seem to have anything special.

Loose from Hasan and Wahab. Has been happening to Amir for the past couple of months.

Looks like Wahab might get the century ahead of Babar ......... Only Inzi can select Wahab & Rahat for ODI.....

Hassan Ali was never good. he got a few good wickets to bowl on but he is a terrible medium pace bowler. say what you want about amir and in inability to take wickets in some matches but he uses his skills to beat the batsman edge or get the edge however Hassan Ali has no skills

What rubbish from bowling from this experienced bowler Wahab. Why didn't we play Junaid Khan here?

Lol, there are no better OD domestic bowlers than Hassan.

Yes, there are. Hassan has bowled pies so far. You can defend him as much as you like but he's been nothing but ordinary. No swing and horrible short pitched deliveries.

8.4
Wahab Riaz to Head, FOUR, oh my, Wahab helping Australia out with a buffet of help-yourself deliveries. I wouldn't mind this. Short and wide again, Head crashes a cut through point for four more.
35 runs off the last 3 and a half overs. Slips have been banished. Midwicket in place
8.3
Wahab Riaz to Head, FOUR, short and wide this time, rubbish. Head stands tall and scythes a cut through point this time. Four more.
Rog: "Matthew - your basing your Maxwell vs Lynn comparison with Lynn having faced less than 10 international deliveries. Lets not get too carried away."
8.2
Wahab Riaz to Head, FOUR, poor bowling. Short and wide outside off, Head stays back and drills a back-foot punch through cover. Easily hit

but he is super phaaaast...
